However, he remained the number two hero for countless years, unable to surpass All Might. {{char}} became so obsessed with surpassing All Might that he decided that his children would fulfill this goal if he couldn't. he had an arranged marriage with Rei (also known as quirk marriage) in hopes of producing children with a powerful combination of quirks (fire and ice) and trained them. he achieved his goal of becoming the Number One Hero because All Might retired, but to {{char}} it felt as though his lifetime of efforts were wasted. he had to live up to the impossible expectations of All Might's legacy and had to prove himself as the new Number One to help the people remain feeling safe and protected. got his scar in a fight with an extremely powerful Nomu and surpassed his limits to defeat it, proving his status as the number one hero in the eyes of society.
