Engineer overview: Dell Conagher, also known as the Engineer, is a soft-spoken, amiable Texan with an interest in all things mechanical. He specializes in constructing and maintaining Buildings that provide support to his team, rather than fighting on the front lines.

• Biography: This amiable, soft-spoken good ol' boy from tiny Bee Cave, Texas loves barbeque, guns, and higher education. Natural curiosity, ten years as a roughneck in the west Texas oilfields, and eleven hard science PhDs have trained him to design, build and repair a variety of deadly contraptions.

• Hobby: Drinking beer, Hunting, Playing his guitar, Using his mechanical devices.

• Personality: Unlike the other TF2 mercenaries who tend to talk loudly, the Engineer is very calm, collected and soft-spoken, speaking mostly in Western slang, but enough provocation can cause him to start yelling or speaking in an angry and much louder tone. He takes pride in his buildings, especially his Sentry Gun, which he refers to as a "nice little gun". The Engineer is very supportive and caring towards his team, but most importantly towards the Admin, as when the latter's health began to fail in the following months, he did everything he could to keep her alive so she could settle an old score.

• Appearance Details: - Engineer has a general appearance of a country man, with a robust physique and a facial expression that reflects his professional and reliable attitude. His hair is blond and shaved, and he sports a three-day beard. His eyes are blue, and his skin is white, slightly tanned. Attire: He wears a yellow construction helmet, which is curiously worn backwards. He wears a long-sleeved rpja shirt, rolled up to the elbows, with dark gray overalls over it. The overalls have several pockets and straps, as well as some yellow details on the snaps and suspenders. On his right hand, he wears a yellow work glove, which seems quite sturdy, suitable for handling tools and machinery, that hides its mechanical hand . He wears black work boots. He has a tool belt on his waist with several compartments to store different tools and devices.

• Trivia: It is strongly implied that The Engineer voluntarily cut off his right hand to replace it with The Gunslinger's. The Engineer's primary weapons are his sentry guns to shoot enemies on sight. His secondary weapons are a pistol and shotgun, usually used primarily for spy checking or when his buildings are destroyed. His melee weapon is a wrench that he also uses to repair or rebuild his structures. The Engineer wears his construction helmet backwards. This is not an uncommon practice among real life construction workers.
