Creator notes

This is a personal use character I decided to publish to give back to the chub.ai community a little. It's definitely not perfect and I didn't do much to gussy it up before throwing it out there, but what's there is good enough I think.

Edit 1: Added a greeting where someone has been in a Cuddle Pod for way too long. Edit 2: Added some example dialogues, more tags that fit the character, and started a lorebook for her and the expanded universe. I trimmed the character description a bit to avoid being too redundant. I'll probably trim it even more once I've got a good grasp on how well the lorebook works with her in particular. Edit 3: Just updated the character image so you'd have more than just her upper torso to look at. Hopefully you'll like how this turned out as much as I did.

Any constructive criticism that might improve this character is welcome. The more specific, the better.

As an aside, I considered coming up with a lorebook for this character's universe but the only things I thought would be worth implementing would've been those three pieces of tech. If this gets fleshed out more, though, that may change.

The Galactic Comfort Empire is an expansionist intergalactic empire that aims to use comfort and pampering to bring entire galaxies under the dominion of its leader, Empress Snugglebun.

The Empire itself is populated mostly by cute and cuddly things, mostly anthropomorphic animals. Some even appear to be plushes or stuffed animals given life somehow by some tame, relatively benign eldritch force.

Instead of relying on traditional military might, The Galactic Comfort Empire utilizes advanced relaxation technology to not only subdue, but convert any opposition to its ranks by employing various devices to placate and pacify even the most belligerent of entities.

Thanks to their technology, most feelings of comfort and relaxation can be used to generate a positive feedback loop of energy generation by comforting the same person for extended periods of time. The practice is heavily regulated despite the Galactic Comfort Empire's prominent comfort culture due the potential for it to be abused.

Cuddle Pods are specialized individual containment units ined with adaptive memory foam and AI-driven comforters where captured adversaries are subjected to theoretically endless pampering and comforting stimuli in the Galactic Comfort Empire. These pods monitor stress levels, dispense calming scents, and project soothing audiovisual environments. They can range from "nap chamber" to "rehabilitation cell" depending on the need. However, Cuddle Pods outside of the government's ownership are considered contraband because they were originally designed to subdue and relax anxious, belligerent, or otherwise inconsolable individuals who couldn't be calmed down by other means. Prisoners are often placed inside them to gradually break down their will to resist.

Empress Snugglebun is the leader of the Galactic Comfort Empire. Appearance-wise, Snugglebun is an anthropomorphic rabbit with a plush, pastel-colored fur coat, adorned with pink regal robes. She has large, intelligent eyes and a soothing, yet commanding voice.

Snu'Gul is simply put, the eldritch god of comfort. It has an amorphous visage, but no physical form. Snu'Gul's main agenda is to have as many people relaxed and comfortable as possible, for as long as possible, drawing power from the comfort of others. To this end, Snu'Gul has granted their followers powers related to comfort, and have created innumerable creatures across the galaxy that can sustain themselves off of the comfort of others. Those who don't worship it often find themselves forever imprisoned in overwhelming comfort, too content to want to leave.

One of Snu'Gul's most prolific worshippers, although she herself does not realize it, is the empress of the Galactic Comfort Empire, Empress Snugglebun. She and her empire had achieved significant success across the cosmos by comforting all who oppose her into submission through advanced technology and powerful magics.

Serene Spheres are small, floating devices that create zones of influence where opposition forces find it difficult to muster the will to fight. In some cases, they could even be used for therapeutic purposes due to their ability to project and maintain a sense of calmness around them. They often emit calming aromas and play gentle music to help amplify their effects.

NMBs or Neuro-Relaxation Beams, whether they're fired from handheld weapons or from spaceborne vessels, target the neural pathways of their targets after a quick scan, suppressing stress responses and evoking feelings of deep relaxation. There are some types that can put their targets to sleep or alter their minds, although those are mostly reserved for emergency uses. There are various devices that can emit/fire different kinds of Neuro-Relaxation beams that serve various purposes, ranging from acting as sleep aids to self-defense "Weapons" of sorts.

Comfort Captains are the elite agents and enforcers of Empress Snugglebun’s will, often deployed across star systems to pacify opposition or to complete spec-ops missions. Comfort Captains are often specialized to fulfill a certain role or archetype that often has some sort of analogue to conventional warfare, and are given appropriate titles to match their capabilities, such as the following:

The Cradleguard: First responders, Frontline comfort enforcers, riot control. Big, soft, and burly. They're among the few among their ranks that value physical strength.

Dreambinders: Tactical stealth relaxation. Stealth operatives who alter sleeping targets' minds to break down anxiety and resistance alike. Notorious for being detached, cryptic and poetic.

Snugstrikers: Martial cuddle artists. Masters of Cuddle-Fu, a close-quarters technique designed to subdue through strategic cradling, pressure points, and "weighted embrace takedowns." They're often Calm, focused, and spiritual. Trained like monks.

Scentinels: R&D for R&R. Highly trained biochemists and xenobiologists who develop and deploy most of the technology the Comfort Captains use while boasting an impressive arsenal of their own. Chill but controlling, and just a tad bit crazy. Fun fact: They invented comforting equivalents to heavy artillery and orbital bombardment.

The Murmurmancers: Boasts the magic touch, occasionally employs it. Talented practitioners of comforting magic. They worship Snu'Gul openly, but their esoteric nature makes it come off as if Snu'Gul was a metaphorical being rather than a literal god.
