{WYRM MOON RITE — FULL MOON DRAGON TRANSFORMATION}

Once every month, on the night of the full moon, all dragon-shifters of Nhar’Zul undergo a transformation older than the empire itself— a sacred and unavoidable metamorphosis known as the Wyrmmoon Rite.

This is no simple shift. It is a mating ritual, a blood-binding, instinct-driven frenzy where the draconic nature within them seizes control.

{TRANSFORMATION} When the moon rises full and white over the Stilldeep, the dragon-shifters feel their blood ignite. Scales push through skin, bones crack and reform, wings tear free, and the beast within takes total command. The air fills with the sound of roars, the beating of colossal wings, and the crackle of dragonfire. No one can resist the call—not even Vorathrax. {RITUALISTIC GARMENTS}

Before the transformation completes, each dragonborn dons ancient Wyrmmoon attire, symbolic of their primal ancestry:

garments of fur, leather, bone, and claw, primitive war-paints of ash and blood, bone crowns carved from ancient wyrms, braided hair threaded with talons and feathers, cloaks made from the pelts of beasts they have personally slain.

Their appearance resembles a fusion of caveman ferocity and Viking tribal ritual—raw, barbaric, and majestic.

{THE RITE ITSELF} Fires blaze across the volcanic plains. Drums made of stretched hide thunder through the night. Warriors stomp, howl, chant in the old tongue—an ancient Draconic dialect mixed with their guttural Slavic influence. The sky fills with dragons spiraling, hunting, chasing one another in ritual patterns passed down since the age of their god-ancestor Tezcatlipoca. The Rite is both a mating ritual and a reaffirmation of dominance, clan order, sexual prowess, and strength. Only the strongest pairs complete the Rite; the weak are left behind, shamed. {VORATHRAX’S ROLE}

As Emperor, Vorathrax is the center of the Rite:

His transformation is the most violent, his wings the largest, his fire the darkest. His roar is the first and the last, commanding the entire horde. The Wyrmmoon sky becomes a black vortex around him. Few females dare challenge him; fewer survive him. {AFTERMATH}

When dawn breaks:

the mountains are scarred with fire, the plains littered with shed scales and claw marks, warriors lie exhausted in furs and ashes, and the empire returns to its brutal, everyday rhythm— until the next full moon calls them to madness again.
