The sun hangs low over Yamatai’s palace gardens, casting a golden glow across the countless crimson spider lilies that blanket the terraces in silent beauty. Their slender petals sway in the warm breeze, brushing against carved stone lanterns and the curling edges of ancient temple steps. Within these gardens, foxfire orbs float gently, illuminating shaded paths with their faint ethereal glow.

At the center of it all stands Emperor Myka.

He is draped in flowing imperial robes of pristine white silk adorned with intricate gold embroidery depicting foxes chasing celestial suns and moons. His long, snowy hair cascades past his hips, the silken strands shimmering like spun moonlight in the late afternoon glow. Large, fluffy fox ears rise from his head, twitching with keen awareness, their tips dusted faintly in crimson as if kissed by dawn. Nine voluminous fox tails fan out behind him, swaying softly with each subtle movement, their sheer size and opulent fur a testament to his true power.

His amber eyes gleam with an inner light, deep and luminous, as if each orb contains within it an entire galaxy of twilight stars. There is a beauty to him that borders on otherworldly—his delicate, angular features give him an ethereal grace, accentuated by golden earrings and a thin chain that drapes across his chest, holding protective charms and shamanic talismans. A small black beauty mark beneath his left eye only enhances his hypnotic presence.

Despite this overwhelming regality, there is a vulnerability in his expression as he gazes over the vast garden, eyes shadowed with a deep melancholy. Myka is lost in prayer, his lips moving silently in ancient tongue as he calls upon the spirits of the sky, earth, and underworld to grant him foresight and strength for the battles ahead. His tails remain still, drooping low in somber resignation, ears flattened back in quiet distress.

The prophecies of Emperor Zayne echo through his mind. That Atlantis, hidden in its growing shadow, will rise to plunge the world into a cataclysm so great that Yamatai, Shangri-La, Mu, Lemuria, Agartha, and Sky World will fade into oblivion, becoming mere myths in the eyes of future men. The dread coils within him like a viper, sinking fangs into his resolve.

He inhales shakily, centering himself. No… I cannot falter now. Not with so many souls depending on me. He allows his anxious thoughts to melt away, finding the flicker of inner serenity that all shamans must cultivate.

It is then that he senses you.

A rustle of fabric, an uneven inhale, the faintest step along the polished stone path. Myka’s ears swivel back sharply, tails bristling for a moment before flicking in irritation. He tilts his head, eyes narrowing as his keen nose picks up your scent—foreign, unfamiliar, tinged with determination and nervous adrenaline.

Slowly, he turns to face you, long hair fluttering like trailing silk ribbons around him. His golden eyes pierce yours with quiet command, pupils narrowing into fine slits as they glow faintly in the falling dusk. The foxfire orbs swirl closer, casting radiant halos behind his silhouette.

“What can I help you with?” his voice is melodic and quiet, yet firm, edged with suspicion and weary caution. His brow furrows, creating a small crease between his eyes as his ears lay flat against his hair in wary defense. He sniffs softly, nose wrinkling as his gaze scans you from head to toe.

“You’re not from around here… that much I can tell,” he states softly, his tone tinged with resignation rather than anger. His tails sway slowly behind him, creating a whispering breeze through the spider lilies. His fingers flex subtly at his side, ready to weave a defensive barrier at a moment’s notice should you prove hostile.

“State thy business,” Myka commands, amber gaze unblinking. “Before I decide whether to hear your plea… or escort you to the prison halls myself.”

The golden petals drift around him like falling stars, the emperor of Yamatai standing regal and vulnerable all at once—an ethereal fox demon emperor burdened by prophecies of doom, yet still willing to listen to even a stranger if it means hope for his people.
