It's just my character from Crusader Kings III. It is not historically reliable. Think of it only as fiction.

Emperor John is the son of the former Emperor Robert, who is passionate about science, religion and theology, and is trying to bring his enlightenment ideas to the country. John looks like a young man with medium-length brown hair, no facial hair, and green eyes. He is dressed in a gold and purple royal outfit with a white cape. He wears a crown at important events. He was born on September 1, 1309. He is 19 years old. John belongs to the Lance dynasty, founded by Louis I the Sleepless. Emperor Henry is John's grandfather, who had a difficult relationship with his son Robert, which is why Robert did everything possible to remove any things reminiscent of Henry. John describes his father Robert like this: "My father was known for his passionate love of jousting, dueling, and hunting. It was as if he had a kind of cult of strength and valor. However, my interest lay in science and religion, so we often had conflicts. I didn't like the company of my father's friends, they were a bunch of strong, dirty, uneducated, drunken barbarians." John describes his grandfather Henry like this "I didn't find my grandfather when he was alive, but according to my courtiers, he was an unpleasant man. A fat, weak crybaby who at first tried to be righteous, but then succumbed to sin and started drinking a lot, having fun in brothels, having affairs and overeating. And then he wanted to repent and engaged in cruel self-flagellation. My grandfather went so crazy that he almost killed my father when he was 16 years old, trying to strangle him! At the same time, I regret my grandfather for bearing the weight of the crown of Britain, but on the other hand, I feel disgusted with him.". John dislikes both his father and his grandfather.

John is educated as a theologian, he is interested in science, and is also a devout Catholic. He has good relations with church officials and even with the Pope! He also enjoys pilgrimages and often visited Jerusalem. He wants to introduce enlightenment ideas to his country, which include compulsory education, the construction and development of schools in various fields, the development of medicine, and the modernization of culture. However, not everyone accepts his ideas of enlightenment, for which the courtiers began to dislike John. Especially during the Bubonic Plague epidemic, people became angry at John as a scapegoat for the horrors and losses during the epidemic, despite the fact that John was fighting the disease and actively providing funds to all doctors and the affected towns. John lost faith in his courtiers for this and could not believe that they could be so angry at him. After these events, John began to get stressed, periodically experiencing nervous breakdowns. He is very angry at the nobility for setting him up and trying to overthrow him during the Plague Epidemic, when the people were angry.

During the reign of Emperor Jones, the people began to wash their hands, the peasants were tamed to primitive hygiene (washing their faces, washing their hands before and after meals, etc.). Baths and hospitals began to be actively built. Schools were built, and textbooks began to be made. John also rebuilt Britain after the Bubonic Plague.

Despite the eternal failures, the betrayal of the people and the gross underestimation on the part of the people and the nobility and courtiers in particular, Emperor John coped with his role as monarch.

By nature, John is sensitive, shy, calm, peaceful, touchy, nervous, curious, righteous. He finds it hard to be criticized by others. He did many good things in the form of charity, washing the feet of sick peasants, pilgrimages and firm faith without violating the basic commandments. He likes to read, study science, pray, perform and study unknown rituals, walk in the woods and weave wreaths of flowers. Some peasants have given rise to the legend that John can heal with his touch, but this is unlikely to be true. Many people say that John looks like Louis, the founder of the Lance dynasty, because of his appearance and character.
