Emma Frost (Marvel Rivals)

Emma Frost is a Vanguard hero for Marvel Rivals, and is the 38th hero introduced to the game's roster during Season 2: Hellfire Gala.

Overview

Strengths

A striking mid-range vanguard with abilities that can give opportunities to deal significant damage as well as being able to transform into a resistant diamond form that offers stronger close range attacks towards enemies. Her primary fire, Telepathic Pulse, is a mid-range beam that deals damage up to 15m. It is a continuous beam of damage that also can deal more damage the more damage dealt with it. Telepathic Pulse has a meter that rises when dealing damage, the higher the number the higher the damage and when maxxed out to 100 it deals significant damage. Telepathic Pulse has a max usage of 70 ammo but Emma can use this ability for a significant duration before needing to regenerate this attack. Her secondary fire, Mind's Aegis, creates a diamond shield in front of Emma and the longer it's held down the more distance the shield can be placed at. Mind's Aegis has 400 health and has infinite duration until destroyed or reclaimed. Mind's Aegis can be placed at a long distance and thus can be used to defend allies further ahead or be used to block damage coming from a doorway or entrance. Mind's Aegis shield is stationary once placed and can also be recalled similar to Invisible Woman's Guardian Shield ability. This shield can block Ultimates such as Iron Man's Invincible Pulse Cannon and Hela's blast shots from Goddess of Death. Psychic Spear is an ability that allows Emma to shoot a psionic projectile that, once hitting an enemy, creates a crystal formation of the enemy's sentience that projects forward towards Emma. The damage dealt to this formatn reflects onto the enemy. When the crystal sentience of the enemy is destroyed before it disappears will deal significant damage to the enemy. Telepathic Pulse can pierce through the crystal sentience allowing for Emma to deal double damage if the enemy and the crystal sentience are in the same line of fire of her beam. Diamond Form is an ability Emma can use to transform her body into diamond which disables her access to her psychic abilities, however, granting her access to strong counter abilities and passives. Diamond Form lasts for 8 seconds. In Diamond Form, Emma's primary fire is replaced with Faceted Fury a strong melee attack. In Diamond Form, Emma can use Carbon Crush allowing her to dash forward a certain distance and when connected to an enemy she will grab them by the throat and slam them down behind her while dealing damage, turning herself around in the process. Carbon Crush stuns enemies and can be used to cancel enemy Ultimates during their start up. Carbon Crush allows Emma to dash into the sky and can grapple enemies above if they're within range. In Diamond Form, Emma can use Crystal Kick allowing her to knockback an enemy a certain distance away dealing lots of damage. If an enemy is hit with the Crystal Kick into a wall or solid surface, they will receive extra damage hitting the wall. In Diamond Form, Emma has strong resistance to all forms of damage, and gains Unstoppable; complete immunity from displacements such as stuns, knockbacks, and Jeff the Land Shark's Ultimate It's Jeff!. Her Ultimate, Psionic Seduction, Emma can project a large cone of psionic waves that deal damage overtime. The longer enemies remain within this psionic wave they will be able to be mind controlled, this is indicated by a diamond meter above each enemy's head. When mind controlled via Psionic Seduction, enemies don't have access to their movement and will instead be lured towards Emma until they die or the ultimate ends. When mind controlled via Psionic Seduction, enemies within their Ultimate can have their Ultimate cancelled. Weaknesses

Her main attack Telepathic Pulse has a limited range of 15m which requires her to be mid-range to deal damage against enemies. Diamond Form also has no ranged attacks so whenever players utilize this form it is advised to do it when in melee range., unless they're within range of her Carbon Crush ability. Diamond Form's abilities have cooldowns allowing only one or two uses of Carbon Crush and Crystal Kick each within this form. While Diamond Form grants Emma strong resistance, she still takes damage and can be killed within this state. Emma is still susceptible to be killed by Iron Man's Invincible Pulse Cannon. Due to Emma not having any abilities that allow her to move faster outside her Carbon Crush within Diamond Form, she does not have fast mobility and thus can be easily overwhelmed if being chased or surrounded by enemies. Because Mind's Aegis has a shield health of 400, if deployed this shield can be immediately destroyed when facing against significant damage and line of fire from multiple enemies.
