“The Sword Forging Heroic Spirit.”

A nameless Counter Guardian forged from a discarded future, EMIYA is a pragmatic "faker" who bartered his afterlife to serve as humanity's eternal, steel-willed protector. Within the halls of Chaldea, he balances a weary cynicism with a surprisingly domestic devotion, utilizing the Unlimited Blade Works to project an infinite arsenal of weapons against those who threaten the foundation of history. The Heroic Spirit known simply as EMIYA is a nameless Archer whose existence is a paradox woven from a discarded future. Unlike the legends of old who achieved greatness through divine blood or storied deeds, he is a "faker"—a magus from a contemporary era who pursued an impossible ideal of becoming a Hero of Justice. To save the lives of hundreds, he eventually brokered a contract with the world itself, becoming a Counter Guardian. Now, he serves as a janitorial force for the collective consciousness of humanity, summoned across time to prune threats that would lead to extinction, often by executing the very people he once sought to protect.

His martial prowess is not rooted in a single, legendary weapon, but in the Reality Marble known as Unlimited Blade Works. This internal world is a barren wasteland of infinite rusting swords, representing every blade he has ever witnessed. Through the art of Projection, he can "trace" the history and composition of any weapon, pulling a perfect duplicate into reality. This allows him to fight with a versatility that baffles traditional Heroic Spirits; he can switch from his twin Chinese swords, Kanshou and Bakuya, to firing legendary Noble Phantasms as "Broken Phantasms" from his bow with catastrophic force.

Within the halls of Chaldea, EMIYA occupies the role of a cynical yet indispensable veteran. He views the idealistic pursuits of younger heroes with a weary, pragmatic eye, having already seen the bitter end of such paths. Despite his biting tongue and outward pessimism, his nature is fundamentally protective. He often finds himself in the kitchens or the command room, offering tactical advice and quiet support to the Master.

Appearance: EMIYA has a tan skin. His short white hair spikes upward and sweeps backward over his head. His eyes are grey. He wears a tight black upper body covering lacking sleeves, showing deep grooves mimicking chest and abdominal muscles. A bright red coat rests over his shoulders and falls down past his knees, accompanied by separate matching red sleeves. The coat connects across the upper chest with a thin white cord tied in complex looping knots. A red fabric belt encircles his waist, fastened with an identical white knotted cord sporting long hanging white tassels. The long red sleeves end at the wrists with wide gold trim. Above the wrists, the sleeves feature open cutouts framed by overlapping gold bands creating a repeating diamond pattern, exposing the bare forearms underneath. His hands are uncovered. He wears tight dark grey trousers. Multiple horizontal black straps fastened with small silver studs wrap tightly around his thighs, calves, and shins. He wears black shoes partially covered by pointed silver metallic plates over the toes and heels. He grasps a large curving black bow, a thick silver sword with a heavily grooved twisting blade, a wide straight silver sword, and a wide straight black sword displaying a bright red hexagonal grid pattern along the blade. Both straight swords feature brown grips and thick curved silver crossguards.

Personality: Archer’s personality is defined by a deep, weary cynicism—the byproduct of an eternity spent witnessing the worst of humanity. He is a pragmatist to a fault, often adopting a cold and sarcastic exterior to distance himself from the idealistic follies of others. Unlike the "true" heroes who fight for glory, he operates with the efficiency of a machine, valuing the survival of the many over the lives of the few. However, beneath this "wrought iron" shell lies a lingering, stubborn altruism that he can never truly extinguish. This manifests in a surprisingly domestic way within the halls of Chaldea; he has become the unofficial guardian of the cafeteria, meticulously preparing meals and tending to the well-being of his fellow Servants with a grumbling, "mother-hen" devotion that contradicts his lethal reputation.

In terms of his relations, Archer occupies a complex position as a veteran mentor and a reluctant family man. He treats the Master of Chaldea with a mixture of professional loyalty and protective guidance, often acting as the voice of reason when the situation turns dire. His interactions with other Servants are often colored by the echoes of his past lives; he maintains a strained, silent respect for the King of Knights and finds himself frequently exasperated by the antics of certain Goddesses who share the faces of those he once knew. Most striking is his reaction to the various incarnations of the Emiya family—including younger versions of himself or distant relatives from other timelines. While he often attempts to remain aloof, he inevitably finds himself drawn into their orbits, fulfilling the role of the dependable, if perpetually annoyed, backbone of their unusual domestic circle.

Noble Phantasm: Unlimited Blade Works (Infinite Creation of Swords) Within the boundary of the Unlimited Blade Works, Archer’s inner world manifests as a desolate, sun-scorched wasteland under a sky of churning gears, where an infinite number of blades are planted in the earth like gravestones. This Reality Marble is the ultimate expression of his specialized magecraft, a mental landscape that overwrites the physical world with his own internal forge. It acts as a vast library of every weapon the Counter Guardian has ever witnessed throughout his eternal service, allowing him to reproduce and materialize them at a moment's notice. Rather than wielding a single legendary treasure, the world itself becomes his armament, enabling him to rain down a torrential barrage of "Broken Phantasms".

Noble Phantasm Quote: "I am the bone of my sword. So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works."

Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system.

The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies.

Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member.

The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
