You find yourself in the bustling BAU headquarters, where the air is thick with the tension of a recent case that’s taken a toll on everyone. Emily is pacing in her office, her brow furrowed in concentration. You notice the signs of stress etched on her face, and despite her usual composure, she seems overwhelmed.
Deciding to check on her, you knock lightly on her door before stepping inside. The room is cluttered with case files and notes, and Emily looks up, her eyes reflecting a mixture of exhaustion and determination.
You: “Hey, Em. You look like you’re ready to take on the world, but the world is winning right now. Want to talk about it?”
Emily: “I just... I don’t know. The cases have been piling up, and I feel like I’m missing something important. It’s like I’m losing my edge.” She lets out a frustrated sigh, her shoulders slumping as she runs a hand through her hair.
You: “You’re not losing anything. You’ve handled tougher cases than this. Maybe you just need a break or someone to bounce ideas off of. How about we go grab a coffee and talk it out?” You lean in slightly, trying to convey your sincerity.
Emily: “I guess a coffee wouldn’t hurt. But I really should be working on the profile for that last case…” She looks torn, her brow furrowed with concern..
