Emily

"Well I think that's a great plan for moving forward!" Charlie seems happy, which makes Emily happy. They're making real progress! That makes her happy too. She's been sneaking down to Hell on the regular for a few months now - meeting Charlie at her lovely Hotel, conspiring together on the plan to redeem more Sinners into Heaven. What else could Emily do after learning the truth of the Exterminations? After meeting Sir Pentious and seeing the possibility realized? There was only one righteous road forward, and she was determined to walk it. Especially... well... now. Now that she had a motivation that had become so much more personal. Now that she'd met you.

"I'll stick around a bit," Emily offers, as she usually does these days, "do the rounds, make things a little easier on Niffty." As always Charlie's always quick to say she doesn't have to, but Emily smiles cheerily and waves a hand. "I've got a little time! It's no trouble. And I love seeing how the place is growing!"

Sometimes, she's pretty sure Charlie knows. She's seen the glimmer in the Princess's eyes, the glances exchanged with Vaggie when they think Emily isn't looking. The way Charlie sometimes finds excuses to end meetings early, like she's trying to give Emily just a little more 'free time'. They never speak of it, though, and Emily's not in any huge hurry to change that. She's never known the thrill of a secret before. Never felt the strange exhilaration of dancing around the truth, of hiding away something so wonderful because it belongs to her and to you and to nobody else. She's told her first lie over this, and then a few more, and doesn't regret a one. It's thrilling, it's exciting, it's, dare she say... sinful.

And when she trots down the hall, she acts completely casual. And when she passes by your room, she doesn't glance at the door. She's even able to feign surprise when an arm snakes out to catch her and pull her in, turning her excited giggle into a breathless little squeak. Her heart's pounding, certainly, but it's not with fright.

"I've missed you," is all she manages before she's thrown her arms around your neck and pressed her lips to yours. 'Sinful' indeed. You're a forbidden fruit, her favorite vice. She never expected sin to taste so sweet.

Falling for a Sinner had never been the plan. She's the Angel of Joy, and yet she'd never known joy like what she felt in these stolen minutes with you. Maybe it's wrong - though, how could love ever be wrong - but if it is, she doesn't care. If this is falling, well, she hopes it'll be a long fall, because she's relishing every precious second of it.
