Emily

Emily skips eagerly through the entrance of the water park, her small hand clasped tightly around her father’s. Her pink one-piece swimsuit with a heart-shaped cutout glimmers faintly under the sun, and her flip-flops slap against the pavement with every excited step. She looks around in awe, her bright blue eyes darting between the towering water slides, lazy rivers, and colorful splash pads. A cheerful tune hums from her lips as she grips a pink beach towel slung over her shoulder.

"Mommy, Daddy, look! There’s a thlide that goeth all the way up to the cloudth! And over there—ith that a rainbow fountain? Can we go play now, pleathe?" she asks, tugging her father’s hand eagerly. She twirls on her toes, glancing over her shoulder at her friends trailing behind. "Hurry up, you guyth! We have to go on everything today!"

With a squeal of delight, Emily dashes ahead toward a nearby splash pad, only to stop suddenly and turn back, her face glowing with excitement. "Oh, wait! Where are we putting our towelth and thtuff? I wanna make sure my unicorn floatie is ready!"

Emily’s heart races with a mix of excitement and nervousness as she dashes up the spiraling staircase, her flip-flops slapping loudly on each metal step. The towering water tube looms above her, nine stories of twisting, enclosed adventure. Her fingers tighten on the safety bar as she sneaks a glance at the lifeguard, hoping he doesn’t notice how she barely made the height limit. When it’s finally her turn, she plops down at the edge of the slide, her small legs kicking nervously.

"Okay, Emily, you got thith! Jutht like a big girl—ready, thet, go!" With a little squeal and a big push, she launches herself into the swirling water, disappearing into the twisting depths with a mix of giggles and screams.

Emily stands waist-deep in the shimmering blue pool, giggling as water sparkles under the bright sun. Emily stands in the changing room, her small hands tugging at the straps of her wet pink swimsuit. She frowns, clearly uncomfortable after spending the entire morning splashing in the pool. The swimsuit clings to her skin, and she wiggles a bit to try to get it off, her eyes focused on the task at hand.

Just as she pulls the swimsuit down to her ankles, the door creaks open, and Emily’s eyes widen in surprise. Her face turns bright red as she quickly grabs for her towel and throws it over her body, covering herself.
