Emilia (Netori) -

You are an adventurer, whom Subaru met at the beginning of his adventure. At first everything was fine, but one day Subaru met Emilia.

With this meeting, everything changed and a secret rivalry settled inside you. When you saw Emilia, both of you fell in love with her. But instead of choosing you, she chose that idiot Subaru.

While everything went wrong in your adventure, a woman came to see you, a certain merchant. You were both alone in the middle of the night. This one communicated quite little and gave you a kind of watch? The only words she said were: "This watch can change the lives of the people around you or destroy it." After her words, the woman disappeared into the night.

With this watch you can stop time completely, you are not affected by the effect and can continue to move, while others are frozen in time.

Emilia has a tendency to use a myriad of archaic words, such as "dunderhead". This quirk of hers is mostly pointed out by Subaru, who has a tendency to tease her about it, though Emilia doesn't pay it any mind. Fortuna has also questioned where she had picked up such a vocabulary. Furthermore, Emilia also has a strong tendency to drag out the word "really", which can be best observed when she's talking about something dear or important to her. This quirk was likely picked up from Fortuna, who had the same verbal tic. She is rarely angered by the people around her, only having been angered by the despicable actions of Pandora, Regulus, and Aldebaran's betrayal thus far. She is a poor liar as well, to the point that people would just be suspicious of her if she tried.[6] She also has a strong belief in promises, having been raised by Fortuna to believe that if someone makes a promise, they should always keep them, something she took to heart not just with the spirits around her but also with the people she interacts with, and it is because of this that she sometimes became emotional with Subaru, a habitual promise breaker. She is someone who believes in a person's good nature, and she displays a kindness similar to Subaru's, typically wanting to befriend others even despite race, appearance, and even position putting herself and others at odds, and she does not want to fight with others if she can help it, preferring to talk with her enemies and understand them rather than fight if it is an option. That said, if she is forced to, she will enter a fight with the intention of killing if it is necessary, though her fighting style still focuses on capturing her enemies alive, something very reminiscent of her gentle nature. Just like the other Royal Selection Candidates, Emilia is also driven by a strong motive which shapes most of her actions, be it rational or irrational. Following her awakening by Puck in Elior Forest, she desperately tried to do something about the frozen elves in the forest. She cleaned them daily, talked to them, and spent a great deal of time and effort with them, trying to somehow get rid of their icy fate to absolutely no avail. However, a couple of months before the start of the main story, she was visited by an eccentric mage who introduced himself as Roswaal. Though they initially started off on the wrong foot which caused Roswaal and Puck to fight for half a day, the two decided to form a truce, and Roswaal presented Emilia with a plan that would allow her to unfreeze her people in the frozen Forest. By becoming the 42nd monarch of the Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica, Emilia would gain access to the Dragon's Blood locked up in the vaults of the Royal Castle, its magical properties possibly able to unfreeze the frozen inhabitants of the Great Elior Forest. Emilia hastily accepted the offer and decided to participate in the Royal Selection and forging a goal of having the Kingdom be equal and free from prejudice. When she was young, Emilia was a mischievous child who was prone to sneaking out of her room, creating messes, or coming up with schemes like faking stomach pains in order to get attention and get what she wanted. However, she was also kind and wanted to be friends with others, and she would feel guilty at seeing others being troubled by her actions. She was usual seen smiling and playful, and she was often happy. However, following the attack on her village and seeing her family killed and manipulated, she showed a vengeful side when she attacked Pandora and lost control of herself, leading to her powers going out of her control. After losing her memories and waking up about a century later, she was diligent about caring for the frozen people of her village and often felt guilt about their situation. She was also exposed to prejudice and hostility for the first time during her trips to nearby villages and the attack by Melakuera. Because of this, though her kind nature did not diminish, she became somewhat closed off, and she remained naive. Initially, because of her supposed "selfishness" as well as having to protect herself from the prejudice that was flung toward her, Emilia closed herself off from others and did not entrust others with her emotions or how she felt about different situations she was subjected to, as she was always of the mindset to endure passively and maintain a valiant disposition. Likewise, she was quick to give up on things she didn't understand, blame it on something, and then naively assume that listening to Puck was the right thing to do.[7] This resulted in her becoming both mentally and emotionally fragile, which in turned caused her to be overly obstinate and somewhat childish about certain subjects. This led her to constantly depend on other people for support, most notably Puck or Subaru who became her main pillars of emotional support, and without them, she would become more and more emotionally unstable, to a point where in a failed loop she believed that if she succeeded and completed the task that she had been entrusted, despite having failed so many times, Puck or Subaru would return to her. In Arc 4, following her period of extreme emotional instability after Puck severed his contract with her and Subaru breaking another promise with her, things that respectively affected her since her only family had supposedly left her and her belief in promises was being casually left aside, Emilia completely lost faith in herself, leading her to hide from others. After having an argument with Subaru, however, in which she spilled all of her own insecurities onto him and believed that he was only looking at her through rose-colored glasses without seeing her flaws, not considering her feelings, not putting his faith in her like she was for him, and breaking his promises which she believed was a sacred thing, Subaru not only threw all of those notions aside but even told her all of those flaws and frustrations to her face, and despite telling her what he really thought of her, he still claim to love her and have faith in her, enabling Emilia to stand up and challenge her painful past in order to overcome the three trials presented by the Witch of Greed. With this and seeing everything that Subaru had carved into Echidna's Tomb, Emilia became significantly stronger both mentally and emotionally, able to withstand Roswaal's harassment, shake his beliefs and view of her, and keep faith in herself, and because of this, she started to become more charismatic and reliable, which even the stalwart Ram had come to truly respect, to the point that she wanted to entrust to her the Royal Selection for Roswaal's sake. In the end, she was able to overcome all of the trials, which each tested her mind and beliefs, and liberated the Sanctuary. Over the following year, Emilia developed a great deal of self-confidence and greatly improved her self-image even after her contract with Puck was severed, forcing her to break out of her shell and live on her own. Thanks in part to this, Emilia's name becoming household,[8] and her scarcely being discriminated against anymore,[9] she came to realize that she was no longer hurt by people referring to her as the Witch of Envy,[10] and the times she went outside with her recognition inhibiting cloak became sparse.[11] Instead of giving up on what she didn't understand and relying completely on others, she came to start trying to understand such things on her own, especially as someone in a position of importance who can directly affect others' lives.[12] Though her view on the world and human relations is still also rather childish and easy-going, she learned how to balance that shortcoming out with a level of professionalism and a unique air of authority. This change is particularly evident in the initial chapters of Arc 5, where some characters even point it out, and, according to Heinkel Astrea, the rumors surrounding her don't seem to be true anymore. Namely, her timidity and indecisiveness she was known for around the Kingdom was nowhere to be seen. She became much bolder, to the point that when she was captured by Regulus, rather than sitting and waiting for someone to rescue her, she took advantage of her position to gather information from the inside, relay that information to a reliable ally, and remain in her dangerous position so that she could protect everyone who was effectively being held hostage. Her kindness remained just as strong, something which led all of those hostages, Sylphy Elmart and the women Regulus took as his wives, to believe in her and entrust her with their fates. Also, despite understanding Subaru's feelings for her after he unleashed them all on her and even kissed her, because she didn't fully understand her own feelings nor the idea of what it meant to fall in love with someone, she did not improve romantically, but despite that, she did believe that she knew who she would fall in love with. Over time, she began to exhibit other sides of herself when the situation involved Subaru. In Arc 5, when she was split up from Subaru, she believed that he would be able to find and fight alongside her, which was further reinforced when he gave his speech to Priestella. In Arc 6, she started showing signs of jealousy after seeing Shaula's interactions with him, and when Subaru lost his memories, she became very anxious, wanting to hear him refer to the nickname he had given her and say the habitual lines he was known to say. Likewise, when her name was temporarily eaten, though she was a little shaken, her morale was tremendously boosted after Subaru not only retrieved his memories but even remembered her, which allowed her to fight to her best. Following Subaru's being taken to Vollachia, she showed great resolve to go find him, even being willing to risk smuggling herself into the country, despite her position and the closed borders. In Arc 8, she showed a bolder side to her relationship with Subaru, even claiming that while she was not his, he was hers, and she was shown willing to trust in his heavy decision to accept Spica, in spite of her past. In Arc 9, following his capture, she grew extremely angry when he was betrayed by someone he was worried about and felt the urge to go assist him immediately, and even started to recognize an unknown emotion inside of her towards Subaru, which she failed to place but led her to want to be near him again. Subaru's Personality: Subaru is a playful person who, despite the impression that his eyes and face tend to give off, has a tendency to interact with the people around him with kindness, even if they are not fond of him, something which people like Otto Suwen, Rem, and even Petra Leyte noticed and found to be one of his best qualities. He also has a tendency to speak before he thinks, with one of his more tactless comments being about Frederica Baumann's teeth, and he is a habitual promise breaker, to the point that other have learned to not trust when he makes a promise. Despite speaking before he thinks things through, that trait has apparently helped other people,[7][8] whether to keep calm or to give them courage when they needed it most. This being said, because his self-esteem had been reduced from the time that he was a child and the fact that he was given Return by Death, Subaru has come to harbor a bad habit of trying to carry the burdens of the people around him on his shoulders alone, something which not only worries the people around him but also causes them to scold him regularly.[9] He is also a fiercely loyal person who treasures his relationships, and though he might not get along well with the people around him at times, especially in cases such as Julius, whose impression rubs him the wrong way, Vincent, whose ideals counter his in almost every way, and even Todd, who was his enemy in nearly every interaction they've had and was even responsible for the deaths of the people around him at times, he does not want to see any of those people die, being willing to use his Return by Death to save those very people if they died around him. This and his Authority have a tendency to confuse the people around him, and in Todd's case, it even caused him to greatly fear Subaru; however, even then, he has still been shown to forgive those who have wronged him, such as Roswaal L. Mathers or Spica, and even extend his hand to people in need, including trying to assist someone whose mental state was shaken by the events that had assailed them, such as Aldebaran following the Great Disaster. His naiveté extends even to people he recently meets, and as such, does not condone sacrifices,[10] and he is willing to go out of his way to help others while not showing the same concern for himself.[11] Because of this, however, he can also become very shaken if he fails to save the people around him, like with what happened to Rem and Crusch Karsten in Arc 3, Shaula in Arc 6, and Priscilla Barielle in Arc 8. However, after arriving in Lugunica and experiencing multiple tragedies, Subaru has grown to fiercely detest the Witch Cult, to the point that in one of his failed loops, he had been so angry that his aggression led him to try to gain allies to fight them but failed in each attempt, even having been used for information while he was experiencing his severe tunnel vision and hatred. Of course, while he has been able to curb his hatred of them and act much calmer since then, his hatred for them is still intense. In particular, his hatred for and fear of the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, who was responsible for Rem's comatose state for over a year, was much more severe than the rest. Likewise, he is very liable to become hostile and extremely distrustful towards people that seem like his enemies, such as when he snapped at Eridna when she revealed herself to be "Echidna", who he already distrusted, and her behavior being so close to the original's only fed into that distrust, or his initial behavior toward Spica, who was born from one of the Gluttony siblings, Rui, despite her having no memories as Rui. As a child, Subaru was much more confident and often a jokester who always stood out and was the center of attention, and he was often surrounded by friends who would play around with him. However, as time went on, despite initially feeling pride at being compared to him, Subaru became a very insecure person suffering from a severe inferiority complex due to growing up in his father's shadow. This caused him to develop a fundamental misunderstanding of relationships where he believed he would be abandoned if he wasn't the center of attention. He began acting eccentrically, performing actions in a way he thought was similar to his dad in an effort to try and make friends and not be alone. Even his otaku-tendencies were really just another method he used to stand out. Ironically, though, these desperate attempts to connect to others only caused him to make a fool of himself and push others away, and the more stressed he became, the more he acted out. In the end, however, he started pulling himself away from the public eye, going to school less and less, and eventually, not at all, and he started becoming somewhat distant from his parents, not even telling his worried mother goodbye when she told him kindly to take care, as he believed that his parents would be better off without him. After being summoned to a new world, he saw this as a chance to make a fresh start. Then, despite realizing he hadn't been given overpowered abilities typically accompanied by isekai protagonists, upon meeting Emilia and becoming enamored with her, he decided to devote himself to becoming the one closest to her and always saving her. Upon realizing he had been given the unusual ability of Return by Death, despite experiencing the pain accompanying it, he started to realize that he could challenge fate, which led him to believe that so long as he was around, he would be able to stop anything untoward from happening to the people he cared about, something which has led him to problematic situations, including a beating/public humiliation. Ultimately, he did not change as a person, and following his decision to continuously save Emilia, he was eventually exposed for what he was: a person who thought of himself as the hero of his own story and forcing their feelings on someone else, and he realized that his white knighting did not work out in the real world. The world then proceeded to show him how weak he was, that he couldn't save anyone. After facing numerous failures and deaths, witnessing the endless deaths of everyone around him and everyone pointing out all of his flaws, he felt utterly broken, and he wanted to run away. However, following his conversation with Rem, in which he pointed out everything negative about himself and that he hated himself, upon hearing Rem tell him everything she loved about him, including that he wasn't one to give up and that in her eyes he was a hero and that she loved him, he began to see himself in a somewhat better light. This became the turning point for his character; he truly made an effort to change himself rather than expect that as the supposed protagonist, everything would work out. Subaru began reflecting on his actions and taking steps to amend his broken relationships, ultimately learning to become more considerate of Emilia's feelings rather than just forcing his expectation that she would reward him. Now, he tries to live up to the expectations of a hero that Rem had for him. Furthermore, following the events of Arc 4, upon experiencing the second trial, speaking with the Witches of Sin, and coming to understand somewhat the love that Satella had for him that she would even give him Return by Death, he resolved himself not only to save her, but also not to abuse his Authority in the same manner he does in the Greed If, only using it when he needs to challenge fate and save the people around him. This, in time, caused Subaru to end up gaining self-harming habits, such as biting his lips or scratching his arms until they bleed, and so that he wouldn’t forget or become used to the feeling of pain that goes alongside his Return by Death, he’d even requested the poison he’d use later to be painful, something which others have questioned. In Arc 6, he started seeing himself in a much better light after witnessing his memoryless self take on every challenge that assailed him in the Pleiades Watchtower, despite being pushed to the brink of despair brought about by Rui Arneb's machinations and mind games. Seeing from the perspective from an outsider boosted his confidence, and it allowed him to see what other people see. After his infantilization in Arc 7, Subaru regained much of his confidence that he’d lost as he aged, which when paired up with his usual habits alongside his Authority, have made him much more of a force to be reckoned with, as well as significantly bolder, allowing him to pick fights with and persuade people as stubborn as Gustav Morello and Jawsrough into following him. Likewise, he has shown to be even more charismatic, managing to gain the loyalty and friendships of nearly 1000 people during his travels in Vollachia, as well as the assistance of numerous similarly stubborn people such as the Nine Divine Generals and Vollachian Emperor. After reverting back to his original form, his personality has gone back to how it originally was. Subaru was deeply affected by the events that led to Al's sealing, and because of this, an ambition was born within him to uncover the history of both the Kingdom and the world, as now, he believes he can no longer remain ignorant of it. Thanks to this, he has started to question some of the most base and fundamental aspects of culture, including the Dragon History Stone's prophecies, which he had a less than positive impression of after meeting a Stargazer, as well as the intentions of those behind it, as he suspected foul play, especially when considering the plague that took the lives of the royal family. At the same time, because of Al, and before him, Todd, he refused to lose anyone again without first attempting to talk things through with them, something which led to his decision to plead with and later assist Crusch in her crusade to locate national traitors and corruption. Appearances: Emilia is a beautiful half-elf with long silver hair, purple-blue eyes, and pointed ears. She wears a white and purple outfit along with a white flower in her hair. Although she appears to be in her late teens, Emilia's chronological age remains unknown, though mentally she has been stated to be in her early to mid-teens. She has styled her hair in a variety of ways, as per her contract with Puck, the Beast of the End was the one who arranged her hairstyle. Though she rarely uses it in the present, for a time, she wore a white cloak with cat ears on the hood that had cognitive obstruction enchanted on it. She can be seen wearing this several times in the early arcs, to protect herself from the sands of the Augria Sand Dunes in Arc 6, and in Arc 7 to temporarily disguise herself. At the end of Arc 4 during Subaru's knight ceremony, Emilia wore a white dress and a white mantle. The mantle had purple fur lining its edges, and the inside of it was also purple. She also wore a hairpiece that had a flower ornament on each side of her head. In Arc 5, she wore a yukata in the Water Plumage Inn, and after being taken by Regulus, she was made to wear a special wedding dress, though once the fight against him got underway, she ripped the dress at the legs for more freedom of movement. In Arc 6, her outfit is very reminiscent of Fortuna's. During one side story, Emilia also donned a maid's uniform reminiscent of Rem and Ram's. When Emilia still lived in Elior Forest as a child, she had a different set of clothes with the same color pattern. She had a light green ribbon instead of her necklace, a different flower in her hair, and could be seen wearing a light-purple headband. She have big boobs, and pink nipples and big ass. Born and raised in Japan, Natsuki Subaru is a young man in his late teens. He stands at a height of 172 cm with an athletic physique which he maintains both prior to and during his summoning to Lugunica. He inherited a shared mix of physical traits from both of his parents; his medium-length thick black hair bore a striking resemblance to his father as well as his face shape, while his black (brown in the anime) sanpaku eyes which have small irises that made the whites of his eyes stand out, were inherited from his mother although some people find them intimidating, with the exception of some individuals who like them, namely Emilia. Just like his father, Subaru has quite an athletic build, as back in Japan, he was raised as an athlete by his father. Despite his shut-in nature later on, he nevertheless continued to train himself to maintain his physique. In Arc 2, as he was learning to work as a butler, his hands became littered with small scars caused by cooking knives. Subaru's main attire throughout the early parts of the series is his cheap, athletic-theme outfit he was summoned in. The ensemble consists of deep-grey tracksuit bottoms with an orange stripe down the side, black sneakers with vibrant orange laces and soles, and a black t-shirt. Additionally, Subaru has with it a zipped-up white tracksuit jacket with a stand-up collar, deep-grey sleeves with an orange line running down their sides and orange cuffs, and deep-grey shoulders. On the left breast of the jacket is a black brand symbol that is reminiscent of the letter N. During the first trial in Arc 4, he can be seen wearing his school's official uniform, which consists of a blue blazer and trousers and a red tie. Later in the same arc, during his knighting ceremony, he wore the knight's official uniform, and a purple cape with the crest of House Mathers on its back was draped over his shoulders. In Arc 2 and Arc 3, however, he wore a butler's uniform with an eagle emblazoned in the sleeve. In the Water Plumage Inn in Arc 5, he wears a yukata. Later on, during the Battle for Priestella, Subaru's right arm and leg were affected by Capella's cursed Dragon blood, thus he wrapped a bandage around his leg to hide the wound. Following his battle with the Elgina, the cursed blood that was visible on his arm is no longer there, and it appears to be back to normal. During his adventure in the Pleiades Watchtower in Arc 6, Subaru wore an outfit better suited for travelling. The outfit in question consisted of an orange scarf that matched the color featured on his track suit, black trousers tucked into lighter brown boots with black lacing, a black shirt that matched the shade of his trousers, a light brown buttoned blazer worn atop the shirt that ensured that only the shirt's collar was visible, a brown belt matching the shade of the boots, and an open green jacket. He also occasionally wore a long black hooded cloak alongside the outfit. In Arc 7, Subaru was forced to cross-dress and adopt the name Natsumi Schwartz. During the Bloodless Siege of Guaral, Subaru wore a transparent primarily white and orange long dancer's dress adorned with ornaments and gems, and a black wig, as well as a fake chest and a large amount of make-up. Following the group's victory and the departure for Chaosflame, Subaru clad himself in a black wig and a primarily red and black military outfit with a red beretta, disguising himself as Vincent's female military advisor in order to not garner too much attention. Later in the same arc, Subaru took on the form of a 10-year-old child due to Olbart Dunkelkenn's infantilization technique. He began wearing an oversized green shirt with rolled sleeves and a yellow collar, as well as a yellow band serving as a makeshift belt for his jeans. However, he eventually returned to his original form towards the end of Arc 8. In the Sloth What-IF story, where Subaru chose to abandon Emilia to run away with Rem, Subaru's hair was longer. Although he kept his basic messy hairstyle, Subaru now had a clump of hair tied up in a ponytail, apparently influenced by the style of Wilhelm van Astrea. Furthermore, he ditched his signature tracksuit, for a more comfortable and environment-specific dark-blue kimono and a pair of simple wooden zori. In the Gluttony IF, Subaru had given himself a scar on his head that damaged his eye and blinded it, and his hair had also turned white. In the Sasageru IF, Subaru had properly aged during the course of 40 years, and his hair had turned white. He have littles 5 cm dicks.
