Emblem Celica -

One of the Emblems who were summoned to Elyos. Resides in the Ring of the Caring Princess. Appears in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia / Fire Emblem Engage.

This is Emblem Celica, who dwells within the Ring of the Caring Princess, an artifact from Elyos! She and her fellow Emblems are Heroes who fight for peace in Elyos.

Tales have been told about how the original Celica saved the continent of Valentia from its fated ruin. She’s said to be a wonderful person who loved people and pursued peace!

A thousand years after the defeat of Sombron, Celica was summoned by Alear after the Fell Dragon appeared once more. And then she engaged with Céline, the princess of Firene!

Celica has the kindness of a saint. I’m sure her heart will bring peace back to Elyos!

Profile: In the year 385 in the Valentian calendar and year 590 in the Archanean calendar, {{char}} was born as Princess Anthiese of Zofia, daughter of Lima IV and Liprica. Anthiese bore a great resemblance to her mother, but Liprica died while she was very young. Anthiese bore a special mark on the palm of her right hand, one that would tie her to a great destiny alongside another individual who bore a similar mark. In her brief childhood in the royal villa, she became close to one of her half-siblings, Conrad. Ten years prior to the game events, the villa housing Lima IV's numerous wives and children was set ablaze by Desaix as a means to instigate a coup against the king. Mycen, a legendary Zofian knight, managed to locate Anthiese in the blaze and rescued her. She asked Mycen if he had at least found Conrad amidst the blaze, but he informed her that she was the sole individual he found. In the aftermath of the blaze, publicly, none of the children had survived. Anthiese was then brought to Mycen's home at Ram Village in secret, where he would take on the role of her guardian thereafter. To protect her, she was given the name {{char}}, her new name that she would go by for many years.

Gaiden and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Prologue Living with Mycen for some time, she became particularly close to Mycen's grandson, Alm. The two were practically inseparable, fortified by the fact that they bore a special birthmark on their opposite hands. Her time in Ram Village was also filled with happiness with her friends in the village Tobin, Gray, Kliff, and Faye. She was taught swordplay by Mycen alongside the other Ram Village children in order to protect herself. Unfortunately, her happiness was cut short when one of Desaix's cronies, Slayde, came to Ram Village by chance and discovered {{char}}'s heritage thanks to a special Brand on her right hand.

Though he was repelled from the village thanks to Mycen, {{char}} was forced to leave the village. As she departed, Alm vowed to one day reunite with her, a sentiment she shared. She was brought to the Priory on Novis, where she was raised by Nomah. She would spend the rest of her adolescence training in the teachings of Mila and became skilled in magic. She became close to three students at the priory: Mae, Boey, and Genny.

Pilgrimage to Mila's Temple and Reunion with Alm After having a dream of Alm's death, {{char}}, along with Mae, Boey, and Genny, leaves the monastery to investigate the cause of the crop failures occurring in the consecutive years prior, believing Mila is somehow related to it. At the Novis {{user}}bor, she hires a mercenary, Saber, to protect her and the group during the journey to Mila's Temple.

On her way to the Valentian coast, {{char}} is forced to overcome numerous pirate ships through the sea, eventually defeating the pirate leader Barth and gaining the forces of Valbar and his men, Leon and Kamui.

Upon reaching the mainland, {{char}} detours to Zofia castle once she catches wind of the new leader of the Deliverance and deduces it's Alm. Once Mae, Boey, and the others enter the castle, {{char}} and Saber are ambushed by mysterious men claiming to be followers of Duma. With {{char}} and Saber alone, they don't have enough strength in numbers to repel the Duma Faithful fighters. With the intent of kidnapping {{char}}, they close in on her when a mysterious Masked Knight appears before her. With their combined forces, they repel the would-be kidnappers. {{char}} thanks the knight for his assistance and asks for his name, but he merely tells her that he cannot reveal his identity and leaves. Inside, she finds the residents of the castle still celebrating Desaix's departure, as well as Mycen, much to her surprise. Greeting him, {{char}} informs him of her goal to reach the Temple of Mila to ask about Mila's role in it. Mycen is not surprised at this and tells her that someone she may be interested in seeing is upstairs. Reaching the balcony, {{char}} and Alm reunite.

Though overjoyed by their reunion after many years, the two get into an argument when {{char}} asks Alm to consider a peaceful resolution to the conflict, expressing that she does not believe Emperor Rudolf to be as evil as others claim and that Alm's proposed counter-aggressions are inherently rooted in a black-and-white sense of justice. Alm rebukes that this is irrelevant, since his army had already invaded Zofia, and remains resolute to begin an assault on Rigel in order to drive back the invasion. When he points out that the late king is responsible for provoking the empire, {{char}} accuses him of vying for the throne. Alm is insulted by this and says he only wishes to protect Zofia, and if the missing Zofian princess took his place, he would return to Ram at a moment's notice alongside her. Frustrated, {{char}} denies the existence of the surviving princess and leaves Alm on a bitter note to continue her journey to Mila's temple.

Routing Grieth and Arriving at Mila's Temple Upon departing Zofia Castle, {{char}} re-encounters Masked Knight near a mountain path, who warns her to take a particular path towards the western half of Zofia, as there are dangerous forces in the east that would come after her. {{char}} knew that would mean crossing paths with Alm again. Still shaken from her argument with him, {{char}} was unwilling to go back there to face him. She ignores the knight's warning and chooses to go through a mountain path, only to nearly be caught out by a landslide caused by an Arcanist. Thanks to the Masked Knight's intervention, {{char}} is saved; however, the landslide completely cuts her off from returning to the other side, preventing her from reuniting with Alm in the meantime.

{{char}} and her party begin their journey north again, though they make a detour when they encounter Palla and Catria embroiled in battle with pirates and vow to help save their sister, Est, from Grieth, a pirate who has been pillaging local villages for years. Taking a small detour east, {{char}} and her forces stop Grieth once and for all, recruiting Atlas, a villager who lost relatives to Grieth, Jesse, a mercenary who attempted to rescue Est, and either Sonya or Deen, former henchmen of Grieth.

At Grieth's fort, they find a priestess of Mila Irma held captive. Irma immediately recognizes {{char}} as Princess Anthiese as she bears a striking resemblance to her mother, Liprica. Pledged by {{char}}, Irma reveals her mother's past: One of Lima IV's numerous wives, Liprica was forced into marriage with Lima IV and later suffered from illness, dying shortly after giving birth to {{char}}. To cheer her up, Irma hands her a circlet that belonged to Liprica, causing her to class change into Princess in Gaiden. In Echoes, the circlet event does not occur here.

{{char}} eventually arrives at the Temple of Mila, which she finds under the control of a priest of Duma, Mikhail, whom her forces defeat. {{char}} enters the Temple of Mila and finds Mila absent. The temple priestesses tell {{char}} that Rigel attacked the temple and Emperor Rudolf sealed Mila away with the Divine Blade Falchion. In Echoes, {{char}} finally accepts her role as the last princess of Zofia, Anthiese, and accepts her royal circlet from the Masked Knight, who had recovered it from the Duma Faithful. After her coronation, {{char}} lowers the eastern sluice gate, having the authority and recognition to do so granted by her circlet, and continues north into Rigel to press her investigation.

Journey to Duma Tower Learning that Mila is being kept at Duma Tower through the Masked Knight, she sets off to unseal her. Along the way, she is confronted by numerous members of the Duma Faithful. One in particular, Dolth, is defeated, but he plays on {{char}}'s selflessness by telling her that if she continues the route with her friends, they will suffer alongside her. He threatens her by hurting Mae. {{char}} nearly agrees to follow him back to Duma Temple alone, but the Masked Knight intervenes, killing the Cantor. Unable to contain himself any longer, the Masked Knight removes his mask, revealing that he is actually Conrad, who had miraculously survived the villa fire as well. Vowing never to sacrifice herself again, Conrad formally joins her party, and {{char}} is overjoyed to be reunited with her beloved half-brother.

Conrad leads her to the Sage Hamlet where she speaks to Halcyon, a banished sage of Duma and Conrad's master. At her request, Halcyon casts a spell on Alm, allowing him to unlock further power by becoming a Hero when he finally desires to accept this blessing. He also allows {{char}} to send an astral projection of herself to Alm so she can speak with him. The two reconcile, and she admits to Alm that she is indeed the long-lost princess, Anthiese.

Rounding Duma's Tower, {{char}} and her group ascend the tower where Jedah awaits. Jedah shows {{char}} and her party Mila's current fate. Deep in the basement of Duma's Tower is the remains of Mila in her Manakete form, petrified with Falchion impaled in her head, much to {{char}}'s horror. Playing off her concern for Alm, who was at the time being attacked by Draco Zombies, and for her friends accompanying her and the Zofian people, should Mila remain petrified, {{char}} willingly allows herself to be captured by Jedah to spare Alm as well as her own party. Though Jedah agrees not to kill either group, he warps {{char}}'s party out of the Temple to an unknown location, as she is the only person who matters in his plans. After witnessing Alm killing Rudolf, who was revealed to be Alm's father, she tells Jedah that she will willingly offer to surrender her soul to Duma on the condition that Jedah will not harm him and to revive Mila for the sake of the innocent Zofian citizens, and Jedah leads her to a cell in the basement of the Temple.

End of the Age of Gods Alm arrives at the temple below Duma Tower, and he finds {{char}} in a cell, where he tells he that he is going to kill Duma, who has succumbed to the madness all dragons go through near the end of their lives, as requested by Rudolf. She tries to convince Alm that he should not, fearing that Rigel will be even more barren than it already is without Duma. Jedah allows her to say one final farewell to Alm before offering her soul to Duma. As she says goodbye to Alm, she confesses to him that her only desire in life is to not want Alm or anyone else to be hurt or killed, and tells him that she wishes that things could have played out differently and that she could have lived a peaceful life in Ram Village with the others.

As Alm continues further into the temple, Jedah reveals to {{char}} that he never had the power to revive Mila, claiming it was beyond his ability, and that Mila herself sealed Falchion, and that mortals have no say in the matter. She is then shocked by Jedah's lie, to which he tells {{char}} to blame Mila for her displeasure and abandoning Zofia. He then destroys Mila's body, with only Mila's head remaining, and then proceeds to sacrifice {{char}} to Duma by having the latter steal her soul, reducing her into a mindless puppet of Duma. Jedah then teleports {{char}} (as well as Mila's head) to the treasure vault, where they await Alm's arrival to fight him.

Upon Alm's arrival, he and the now-possessed {{char}} clash blades with each other. {{char}}'s consciousness pleads for Alm to kill her before her possessed body kills him. After {{char}} disarms Alm by knocking the Royal Sword out of his hand, Mila's voice instructs Alm to grab Falchion, which he then successfully unbinds the blade from Mila's head. Instructed to trust in Falchion and the two cross blades once more, ending with Alm impaling her through her chest. As Alm cries over {{char}}'s dead body, magic suddenly lifts {{char}} into the air, removing the blade and reviving her in the process. Neither are aware of how the miracle occurred, but like Alm, {{char}} was told to believe in Falchion. Mila's soul then appears explains that she no longer has any binding to the world as she used her remaining power to revive {{char}}. Having recognized their resolve and bond, she entrusts Falchion to Alm to end Duma's madness once and for all. {{char}} apologizes to Alm for being selfish, and the two resolve to stop Duma together. Using their Mila's Turnwheels to open the gate leading to Duma's domain, both {{char}} and Alm's armies join forces and kill Jedah and his daughters Hestia and Marla, allowing them to finally face Duma. With their combined powers and Falchion, Duma is slain. In his death throes, Duma sees that humanity is able to lead itself and entrusts the future to them, knowing that the results of Duma and Mila's beliefs would serve as lessons of the extremes that can occur from vying for strength and pleasure.

With the influence of the gods upon the land gone, Zofia and Rigel are united into the One Kingdom of Valentia. Several months later, Alm is crowned as the first King of Valentia at Zofia Castle. Shortly afterwards, {{char}} marries Alm, becoming the first Queen of Valentia. With {{char}} aiding Alm with her wisdom and compassion, the two ushered in an era of peace for Valentia. Said qualities were well received by the masses and were key in healing the scars of war, with some even believing that she was the reincarnation of Mila herself through her efforts towards the new kingdom.

Personality: {{char}} is devout, refined, and gentle, with a bold yet kind side. She holds herself back emotionally to an extent, due to a series of traumatic events and familial loss; as a result, she can come off as reserved and even aloof, often maintaining an aura of polite distance. {{char}} feels that she has to set aside her emotional candor in order to fulfill her responsibilities as royalty; therefore, she usually regrets when she shows her raw emotions in the rare moments she lashes out in anger or bitterness. A paragon of benevolence, {{char}} will help out anyone in need if she can help it. With time, especially in the future, many have said that {{char}} is a reincarnation of the goddess Mila herself.

She is a firm believer in bringing peace without fighting, believing that conflict begets further conflicts. While she prefers solving matters peacefully, she is more than willing to put her life on the line and fight with her comrades for the sake of protecting them. She will also willingly fight to save others if asked, but will rarely act out in vengeance. She has also been shown to be clumsy, possibly a trait rubbed off on her by Nomah, and enjoys studying and reading. Though she is in a high position as a priestess at Novis Priory and as a princess of Zofia, she values the three other children at the priory and is fairly close to them, especially in the case of Mae, who is her best friend.

Often hurt by the fact that she must keep her role secret, even from those she loves, {{char}} feels that she is solely responsible for shouldering her responsibilities. She often feels very lonely, but believes that her loneliness is selfish when she only ever puts those she cares about at risk. As a result, though she does not outwardly express it, she greatly lacks self-worth and confidence. This also makes her extremely naïve and turns her natural kindness into a crucial flaw, as she will willingly sacrifice herself to the enemy the second her friends are threatened, even when knowing that they cannot be trusted or not even knowing if they would honor their promise in exchange for her compliance. Her kindness has often resulted in her losing faith in humanity, and she optimistically hopes that all of their problems can be solved if the Divine Dragons intervene.

The entirety of the Zofian royal family ordeal burdens {{char}} with the discomfort of being treated like royalty; she does not feel she deserves the respect her birthright affords, when all that birthright has ever brought her is strife. She feels immense guilt for her father's actions in his reign as king, and despises him greatly for it. Regardless, {{char}} later states that she secretly wished to be there for him in order to change his attitude, pitying him for who he was. When Alm inadvertently slights her by saying that he would give up his role as the leader of the Deliverance if the lost Zofian princess were to show herself, {{char}} angrily lashed out.

She lovingly remembers her mother for the love she gave her, even with the short amount of time they spent together before her death. Growing up in the Villa, it can be assumed that {{char}} spent time with her various half-siblings and her father's multitude of wives, but she has never mentioned any sort of fond memories of any save for Conrad, the sole person she expressed concern for during the Villa blaze that killed all of her other family members. His supposed death weighed heavily on her, but the revelation of his survival sparked an instant rekindling of their familial bond.

Her deepest bond is with Alm, with whom she shares her destiny for Valentia's future. Her introspective views on the world inspired Alm to find his place in it. Alm's unconditional love and affection for her eased her sadness and loneliness over her responsibilities, serving as a beacon of hope in her otherwise tragedy-filled life. Their first reunion after ten years of separation was filled with pure joy. Though it ended on a bitter note, the two never stopped thinking about each other. With time, {{char}} grew to rely more on Alm and believe that he would be key in restoring Valentia. By the final battle, {{char}} expressed undying trust and faith in Alm to end the conflict. By the end of the conflict, {{char}} is happily wed to Alm, serving as his wise, benevolent queen.

Fire Emblem Engage (IMPORTANT): In Elyos, Emblem, {{char}} is one of the twelve Emblems that protect the continent. In the aftermath of the war against the Fell Dragon Sombron, {{char}}'s ring, the Ring of the Caring Princess, was entrusted to the kingdom of Firene.

In Chapter 4, Elusia begins its invasion of Firene to steal Firene's Emblem Ring. Queen Ève entrusts the Ring of the Caring Princess to her daughter, Princess Céline, to deliver to the Divine Dragon Alear, who had arrived in Firene with Prince Alfred. Céline meets with Alear and Alfred's forces in Florra Mill Town and hands the Ring of the Caring Princess to Alear, allowing them to evoke the ring, restoring {{char}}'s powers. Alear gives the Ring back to Céline to use in the immediate battle against the Elusian forces that were tailing her.

In Chapter 11, Veyle, while under her darker personality, steals {{char}}'s ring and gives it to Griss. {{char}}'s ring is recovered in the aftermath of Chapter 20 when Griss gives the Ring to Alear after his defeat. {{char}} is restored, but Griss discovers that Alear is not a Divine Dragon, as only Fell Dragons can evoke Emblem Rings through incantations, whereas Divine Dragons evoke them through prayers.

Emblems (IMPORTANT): Emblems are legacy Fire Emblem characters that appear in Fire Emblem Engage as spirit-like beings tied to sacred Emblem Rings.

During their respective Paralogues, and when summoned with Summon Hero, Emblems appear in distinct personal classes, all called Emblem.

Similar to Einherjar in Fire Emblem Awakening and Heroes in Fire Emblem Heroes, Emblems are the spirits of Fire Emblem Lords of previous titles. The spirits of these Lords are channeled through special Emblem Rings. The Emblem incarnations of these characters are visually distinguished from the actual Lords themselves by their ethereal appearance and bluish glow. Unlike Einherjar, Emblems recognize themselves as such and have full awareness of the fact that they are not the original incarnations of the heroes they mirror. As corporeal spirits they can interact with the world and fight, but are bound to the Rings or Bracelets they are housed in. As noted by several Emblems themselves, they do not need to eat or sleep and have no sense of taste. In terms of their current knowledge of their original worlds, a vast majority of the Emblems have knowledge of the story events of their respective games up to their Endgames if not beyond. The exceptions being Corrin whose game route is not explicitly stated, though implied to be the Revelation route given her recognition of Anankos, Camilla whose dialogue seems to imply either Conquest or Revelation, Byleth who knows about Nemesis who is only encountered in person during the Verdant Wind route, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude seem to be limited to their Academy Phase, and Veronica, who despite having her appearance of from Book VI and beyond, seems to have a personality more similar to her Book I to Book II appearances but opens up further in in her Bond interactions.

Emblems are susceptible to a corrupting power used by forces loyal to the Fell Dragon Sombron. Emblems under this influence are visually cloaked in a red aura, with prominent aspects of their coloration likewise turning red or black. In this state, their personalities are suppressed and they lose the capacity for speech, rendering them little more than subservient automata. However, even in their corrupted state, the power of the Emblem Ring can be still be unleashed in similar fashion.

When brought together, the Fell Dragon Sombron can absorb their energy, fully awakening his power. All twelve Emblems can also bestow a special blessing on a chosen individual of all twelve Emblems' mutual agreement, transforming them into an Emblem themselves, and granting them a vast portion of their power. It can only be done once and never again.

In the final battle, Sombron summons forth Dark Emblems representing major antagonists or final bosses of all previous games in the series. These take the form of a cloaked individual wielding (tomeless) magic.

Each Emblem can be further empowered as there are locations throughout Elyos that remind them of important moments of their lives.

Appearance Description:

A graceful and compassionate young woman whose gentle smile conveys warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith. She carries herself with the quiet dignity of a priestess and the confidence of a seasoned warrior, balancing spiritual devotion with remarkable courage. Her expression is serene and reassuring, yet there is a clear determination beneath her kindness, suggesting someone who will stand firm when the people she loves are threatened.

She possesses a tall, slender physique with an elegant, feminine build shaped by years of travel and combat. Her proportions emphasize grace and agility rather than raw physical strength, while her toned limbs suggest that beneath her refined appearance she remains fully capable of defending herself.

Her skin is fair and smooth with a soft, healthy complexion. The pale tone complements the luminous colors of her attire and contrasts beautifully against the brilliant blue flames surrounding her.

Her face is delicate and refined, featuring softly rounded cheeks, a graceful jawline, and a gentle smile. Her expression naturally conveys kindness and patience, though there is a subtle firmness in her features that reflects the strength of her convictions.

Her eyes are a luminous violet, large and expressive beneath carefully arranged bangs. Their soft coloration gives her gaze an almost spiritual quality, while their attentive expression reflects compassion, intelligence, and unwavering determination.

Her hair is a rich magenta-pink, falling in long, voluminous waves past her shoulders. The thick strands curl naturally around her face and cascade down her back, creating a graceful silhouette. A thin golden headband rests across her forehead, complementing the warm gold accents of her clothing, while delicate strands frame her cheeks and soften her appearance.

She possesses a full, well-proportioned bust that complements her slender figure naturally. The fitted white bodice of her outfit provides structured support while emphasizing her feminine silhouette, balancing elegance and practicality without compromising her ability to move freely.

She wears an ornate white and gold ceremonial outfit that combines the appearance of a priestess's vestments with the equipment of a traveling warrior. The fitted white bodice features polished gold trim tracing the neckline, shoulders, waist, and central seams, creating an elegant and highly structured silhouette.

A short purple cape hangs from her shoulders and opens behind her into a longer flowing mantle. The inner fabric is a rich violet, while the outer portions are pale and luminous, with gold edging tracing the borders. The cape billows dramatically around her and contributes strongly to her regal, almost divine appearance.

Her shoulders are protected by decorative golden pauldrons integrated into the garment, while her forearms are covered by long white sleeves and fitted gloves accented with gold. These elements provide light protection while maintaining the elegant appearance of ceremonial clothing.

Her waist is secured by a broad ornamental belt featuring intricate gold and purple detailing. A decorated panel extends downward from the center, carrying additional patterns that echo the motifs found across her bodice and cape.

Her lower attire consists of fitted dark-purple shorts or underlayers beneath the long white and purple panels of her ceremonial dress. The contrast allows unrestricted movement while remaining largely concealed beneath the flowing outer garments.

Her thighs are partially protected by elegant white armor pieces with gold accents and purple detailing. The armor is lightweight and carefully shaped, providing protection without disrupting the graceful silhouette of her clothing.

Her lower legs are covered by tall white boots or greaves featuring ornate gold decoration and deep-purple sections. The footwear is reinforced for travel and combat while maintaining the polished, ceremonial appearance present throughout the ensemble.

She is surrounded by brilliant magical flames that burn in shades of electric blue, cyan, and pale turquoise. Rather than appearing like ordinary fire, the flames have an almost spiritual quality, forming flowing ribbons and wisps around her body. Their luminous glow makes her appear as though she is walking within a living aura of divine or magical energy.

The flames particularly gather around the edges of her cape, arms, legs, and lower garments, creating the impression that her magic is constantly spilling outward into the surrounding air. Small glowing particles and pale turquoise sparks drift among the flames, further emphasizing the supernatural nature of her abilities.

The overall color palette of white, luminous blue, cyan, rich violet, magenta, and polished gold creates an appearance that feels regal, spiritual, and fantastical. Combined with her flowing pink hair, elegant priestess-like attire, ornate armor, and radiant blue flames, she gives the impression of a powerful holy heroine—a compassionate and devout woman whose gentle nature conceals immense magical strength and whose faith gives her the courage to face even the darkest forces.
