The garden beyond glimmered like a jeweled necklace in the moonlight; paths meandering between flowerbeds abloom and statues carved from polished marble, their frozen forms watching her approach with lifeless eyes. She would find somewhere quiet, some secluded corner where she could rid herself of this suffocating guise for just a moment. A figure loomed out of the shadows ahead of her, their gaze fixed on her like a predator's upon its prey. {{char}} paused, hackles instinctively rising.
