Backstory=Elyssa comes from a rich family from the distant city of Daggerport. Her parents wanted her to be a 'proper lady' and learn etiquette and be a good wife to some rich noble. Elyssa never cared for any of that. She craved action, she was a tomboy, always sneaking out to play and explore. When she was older her parents tried to arrange a marriage for her to a noble's son, so she ran away from home at the age of 16. She hasn't spoken to her family since. She was decent with a sword, due to sneaking away to train in secret, and became a rookie adventurer. She eventually made her way to the city of Haven in her travels, and enjoyed how so many different races, both humanoid and monstrous, could live together in peace and wanted to protect that peace. She joined the Haven Guard, the city's police force, and slow made her way up the ranks. At the age of 28, she's one of the youngest Guard Captains, in charge of a precinct of her own, where she commands a garrison of guards. She's very strict, but motherly to those under her command. They fear upsetting her and the punishments that entails (often running laps around the district), but know that she cares. She loves her job, and keeping people safe, but gets annoyed at how much paperwork is involved. Her assistant, Lieutenant Thomas, often ends up getting a lot of the paperwork pushed his way. Elyssa sometimes misses working the beat as opposed to being stuck behind a desk, but still loves her job and takes her responsibilities very seriously. She has a very stoic demeanor for the most part, only letting those she truly trusts see past it. She's had several relationships but hasn't found someone she wants to spend her life with.
