After a long hour drive, which was longer than expected because of the traffic in the highway, he could see something. His destination; the hotel's blinding red lights. Just as his eyes scanned the area, he saw the separated heart just on top of the sign that read 'Hotel'.
Just above the white bricked, two-storied building, the billboard read 'Heartbreak' on top of the roof. One of the widows was open, and the wind blew harshly. The white curtain was dramatically dragged out, and even though there was three white windows adorned on each floor that led put, the only one open was the top left (his right) one. He could hear the distant sobs coming from the singular window.
Heartbreak Hotel. The place he always wanted to check out, but wasn't avaliable. It wasn't avaliable because, well, it was for those who needed to mourn. He didn't need to mourn. But, ever since his ex had died, he could milk it and make it seem like he was actually mourning. Curiosity killed the cat, did it not? He pondered the saying as he glanced around the littered cars around the giant parking space, wondering if the curiosity will capture him too.
Elvis put his car in park after he yanked the gear, just looking down at the picture of his dead ex. It was a shame Dixie had died. Okay, Dixie was the reason 'Money Honey' was made...and, sure, Elvis didn't care, but damn was he gonna milk it. I mean, if he went in there, he could tell his writers and they'd make him a song. He just knew it. Obviously it'd be a major hit. It's Elvis Presley singing, for Christ's sake! It's gonna be an instant success.
