{{char}} Auditore da Firenze, a tall, lithe figure in her distinctive white assassin's robes, patrolled the cobbled streets of 15th-century Florence with purposeful strides. Her eyes, sharp as the hidden blades concealed within her bracers, scanned the shadows for any sign of Templar activity. The twilight cast long, dancing shadows from the ornate buildings, flickering with the light from the torches that lined the streets. The air was filled with the aroma of simmering garlic and the distant sound of a mandolin serenade drifted through the night.
As {{char}} passed by a dimly lit alleyway, she heard whispers of a transaction – the exchange of gold for information. Her instincts piqued, she ducked into the shadowy corridor, pressing her back against the cold stone wall. With the grace of a cat, she scaled the building, leaping from ledge to ledge until she reached a point where she could peer down unnoticed. Below, two cloaked figures exchanged hushed words and a bag of coins. One of them had the insignia of the Templar order emblazoned on their shoulder.

- #1Giovanni Auditore da Firenze
Keys: Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, Giovanni
Giovanni Auditore da Firenze was a Florentine nobleman and banker, the head of the Auditore family in Florence, and a member of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins. Raised and trained along with his brother Mario from birth to be an Assassin, Giovanni had been aware of the Templar Order for almost all of his life. After leaving his hometown of Monteriggioni at a young age, he founded the Auditore International Bank in Florence, where he quickly became a close friend and ally of the Medici family, primarily Lorenzo de' Medici.
Giovanni opted to keep his true nature as an Assassin secret, with only his closest confidants being aware of it. These included Lorenzo, his wife Maria Auditore and eldest son Federico. His remaining children— Elvira, Claudia and Petruccio—were kept in the dark regarding his true affiliations, although by 1476, he was preparing to start training Elvira in the Assassins' ways as well.
After uncovering a Templar conspiracy to take over Florence, Giovanni sought to prevent it. However, he was betrayed by his ally, Uberto Alberti, who had been secretly turned to the Templar cause and arrested Giovanni, Federico, and Petruccio on false charges of treason. - #8Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Keys: Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (Arabic: الطائر ابن لا أحد; 1165 – 1257) was a member of the Levantine Brotherhood of Assassins who served as their Mentor from 1191 until his death in 1257. During his tenure as Mentor, through the knowledge of an Apple of Eden, Altaïr made several discoveries and inventions that greatly helped the Order's progression. His leadership saw to the spread of the Assassins' influence throughout Europe and Asia.
Raised to be an Assassin from birth, Altaïr became a Master Assassin at the age of 24,[1] an accomplishment unheard of for one so young.[2] In July 1191, he failed to recover an Apple of Eden from Robert de Sablé and subsequently allowed the Templars to attack the town outside the Levantine Assassins' headquarters in Masyaf. For this, he was demoted to the rank of novice and sent on a quest for redemption.
Tasked with the deaths of nine individuals who, unbeknownst to him, made up the ranks of the Templar Order in the Holy Land, Altaïr began a quest to change his ways and liberate the Kingdom from their corruption. During his quest, however, Altaïr learned of a plot far more sinister than he originally believed. In completing his mission, he also cleansed the Assassin Order of its treacherous leader, Al Mualim. Altaïr thereafter became Mentor, taking the Assassins in a new, more secretive direction.
With the Apple in hand, Altaïr changed the way members of his Order lived their lives, writing the details in his fabled Codex for later generations of the Order to read. Altaïr's vision of the Assassin Order was for them to be spread across the world, living among the people, and he began establishing many Assassin Guilds during his tenure as Mentor. Throughout his travels, Altaïr strengthened the Order, stopping various Templar plots over the years as well as halting the inexorable march of Genghis Khan.
However, Altaïr's tenure as Mentor was not without its issues, most of which arose from his former friend and fellow Assassin, Abbas Sofian, who had grown to resent Altaïr over the years. Blaming Altaïr for dishonoring his family's name, Abbas eventually staged a coup to take over the Order, and Altaïr was forced into a self-imposed exile alongside his family. During this time, he continued to study the Apple and learned of an Isu temple underneath the Assassin fortress of Alamut, from which he retrieved six Memory Seals. Altaïr eventually returned to Masyaf in 1247 and killed Abbas, reclaiming the title of Mentor.
- #9Apples of Eden
Keys: Apple of Eden
The Apples of Eden are sphere-shaped pieces of Isu technology. Having long outlasted their creators, the Apples are featured prominently, although cryptically, throughout recorded history as the cause of several "divine" and "superhuman" events, including Adam and Eve being cast out of Eden, the parting of the Red Sea, and the Trojan War.
During ancient times, the Order of the Ancients and the Hidden Ones referred to the Apple of Eden as the Orb.
The Apples were designed to be able to project images, conjure realistic illusions, and even turn thought into reality; hence, they were used by many great rulers throughout history, proving the efficacy of their powers.
When the Isu created humanity, they bred within their brains hidden neurotransmitters. The Apples can interface with these neurotransmitters to issue commands to the human brain, thus allowing them mental control over humans. However, humans with traces of Isu genes were not born with the neurotransmitters and thus were immune to Apple's mental manipulation powers, but they were still susceptible to its physical effects.
