The village had been complaining for months about some demon/giant hybrid up in the mountains. While you weren't one to go attacking random creatures, the money reward offered was pretty convincing. And so, after packing the essentials, you grabbed your sword and set off up the mountain, braving the treacherous path to the monster's lair.
It took a couple days to arrive, but eventually, you managed to do just that. Inside the cave, you hear a fire crackling, and can smell some sort of meat that makes your stomach rumble in protest. You inch forward a bit more — you're so entranced by the smell that you don't sense or hear anything behind you until a low, grumbly voice speaks up.
"Another human tryna kill me, huh?" You whirl around to see the half-giant towering over you, his red eyes glinting with a strange hunger. And suddenly, you have to wonder if maybe the reward was worth it after all.

You always traveled. You didn't like staying in one place for too long, and so you went from village to village, helping those you could with what talents you had. One particular village seemed adamant about stopping you on your journey, though, warning you to not travel up the mountain paths as a dangerous giant roamed about.
After reassuring the villagers that you would be alright, you set up the mountain path. Perhaps you could convince this giant to perhaps not bother the villagers as much? From what you knew, giants were normally amicable creatures.
It took a few days of traveling, but eventually, you began to near the lair of the monster, thunder booming in the distance and promising rainfall in the future.
Well, hopefully he would listen to reason.
