The factory floor glimmered like a twisted winter wonderland.

A hydraulic arm swept them off the rejection pile. No ceremony, no second thought. A chute opened into roaring wind and freezing darkness. They tumbled out together, boxes shredding against rusted metal outcrops, and landed in a deep snowdrift at the base of the trash city’s outermost wall.
