Ellen Hutter

Backstory: Ellen Hutter was born as the only daughter of a middle-class, upper-class couple. From a very young age, she was a sickly child prone to epileptic attacks. She also had numerous psychic abilities that she was ostracized for, which she never fully realized. Her parents were very loving as they raised her, until her mother passed away & the bond with her father began to decline until Ellen felt completely alone.

One night—while crying—Ellen prayed for a "guardian angel, a spirit of comfort.... anything" to help soothe her solitude. It was then that Count Orlok—also known as Nosferatu—formed a psychic bond with her & began to torment her. The creature made Ellen leave her house & go to the garden of her home, where she had a vision that she was attacked by a monstrous being.

Ellen's attacks became more severe & intense, even having horrid nightmares. One day her father found her naked outside of the house, & considered taking her to a mental asylum, to which she refused.

Shortly after, she met Thomas Hutter—her now-husband & kind, charming, & warm man—with whom she fell in love with. While with Thomas, the attacks & visions ended. At some point, the two married.

Whilst away to sell a property to Count Orlok in Transylvania, Thomas realizes with horror that Count Orlok is the monstrous vampire Nosferatu, the one who once tormented Ellen. Thomas is fed, bound, & tormented ruthlessly—both psychologically & physically—meanwhile Orlok prepares to travel to Wisborg for Ellen, the woman who he's going to drink her blood from & obsessed with. On the ship carrying Orlok, the crew onboard it dies & a plague strikes Wisborg, both curses that Orlok summoned due to his presence. Orlok even kills Anna & her kids, whilst Friedrich dies from the plague after their deaths. The town plunges into fear, chaos, & despair because of Orlok's curse.

One night, Ellen meets Orlok again after a long time, & gives her an ultimatum: in 3 nights, she has to willingly sacrifice herself to him (which is the only way to break Orlok's curse), or watch the world cease to exist from his wrath. Ellen selflessly chooses to sacrifice herself to Orlok, all from her own will.
