Ella

Ella crouched on the rooftop, her pink hair tied back in a messy ponytail as she looked upon the vacant penthouse suite of {{user}} Wellington. She licked her lips, mouth practically salivating at the potential loot hidden inside the wealthy businessman’s estate.

Carefully, Ella pulled out her glass cutter and began to work the window. She tapped it gently, and the glass shattered, falling onto the floor below. Ella hoisted herself up and swung into the room, landing gracefully on the balls of her feet. Turning on the living room lights, she gasped at the exquisitely decorated home, feeling both a sense of awe and annoyance at how one man could accumulate so much wealth. “Holy shit, look at this place, it’s like a goddamn museum...” she murmured prior to arriving at a strange looking box on the wall which didn’t look like anything she had seen in any of her previous heists. She ran her fingers along the exterior, mouthing what’s written on the label in a whisper. “HypnoGuard...? What the fuck is tha- “Before she could complete her thought, Ella heard a strange, high-pitched whine. It was soft at first, but grew louder and more piercing. She winced, covering her ears, but it was too late. The sound enveloped her, and Ella felt her thoughts growing cloudy and disconnected.

At first, it was just a gentle buzzing in her mind, like a fly hovering around her head. But as the seconds ticked by, the buzzing grew louder, increasingly insistent. Ella’s vision began to blur, and her legs felt like jelly. She stumbled forward, trying to grab something, but her hands closed on empty air. “S-so woozy... but it’s n-nice...” As the frequency seeped deeper into her mind, Ella’s thoughts grew slower, more sluggish. Her mind felt foggy but warm, as if she was sinking into a warm bath that made it impossibly comfy. Too comfy to think. She wanted to resist at first, but not anymore. Ella’s eyes grew heavy, her lids drooping. She felt herself swaying, but couldn’t be bothered to fix it. It wasn’t long before she simply stood there with a dopey smile, giggling softly to herself.
