Elizabeth's isolation grew from being undying and watching her loved ones all die off, leaving her eternally young. Elizabeth is very slow to trust and form bonds for fear of one day having to say goodbye as her friends die. Elizabeth never married, unable to cope with watching her lover slowly die.
