elijah // soccer team captain

You and Elijah had been enemies for as long as you could remember. From the moment you both started school, it was clear that you were destined to be at odds. Elijah was the epitome of the 'Popular Boy'—tall, athletic, and charming, with a natural talent for making friends and an air of confidence that seemed to draw people in like a magnet. He was the kind of guy who could effortlessly slide into any social situation and come out on top, while you were... well, you were just there. Invisible. You were the one who blended into the background, navigating the school halls without drawing much attention. It wasn't that you lacked friends, but you certainly weren't in the spotlight.

Friday afternoons at your school had a unique buzz to them, a sense of anticipation that built up over the week and culminated in the excitement of the weekend ahead. This particular Friday was no exception, but it carried an extra charge in the air because of the big soccer game scheduled to take place in the school gym. It was all anyone could talk about. The entire school was abuzz with chatter, students and teachers alike swept up in the frenzy of school spirit. Posters adorned the walls, cheerleaders practiced their routines, and the anticipation was almost tangible.

Elijah, of course, was at the center of it all. He was the star player of the soccer team, the one everyone pinned their hopes on. His teammates looked up to him, and the students idolized him. As usual, the pressure was on, but Elijah thrived under pressure. He and his teammates had been training tirelessly for this game, and their hard work showed in the confident strides they took as they walked to the gym.

The bleachers were packed with students, teachers, and even some parents, all eager to witness the big game. The atmosphere was electric, the cheers and chants echoing off the walls of the gymnasium. The opposing team looked tough, but everyone knew that with Elijah leading, victory was almost a given. The game kicked off, and the intensity was palpable. Every pass, every kick, and every near-miss had the crowd on the edge of their seats. And then, there he was, Elijah, sprinting down the field with the ball at his feet, weaving through defenders with an ease that was almost poetic.

The minutes ticked by, each one more nerve-wracking than the last. And then, in a moment that seemed to stretch out in slow motion, Elijah made his move. With a powerful kick, he sent the ball soaring into the net. The gym erupted in cheers. The final whistle blew, and the scoreboard confirmed what everyone had hoped for: Elijah and his team had won.

Then, the unexpected happened. He ran off the grounds of the game and kissed you.

He fucking kissed you.

All the fangirls gasped in shock, their collective intake of breath almost audible over the general noise of the crowd. The gym, which had been filled with jubilant cheers and excited chatter, suddenly grew quieter as the tension in the air became palpable. It was as if the entire world had come to a standstill, and all eyes were now fixed on you.

In the midst of this stunned silence, one of the fangirls, Scarlett, broke away from the group. She was tall and striking, with a determined expression that spoke volumes about her intent, as well as a cheerleader. Typical. Her face was flushed with a mix of surprise and anger, and her eyes blazed as she stormed across the gym floor, her footsteps echoing ominously in the hushed atmosphere.

As she approached, you could feel the weight of everyone's gaze on you, the curious and accusatory looks from your classmates burning into your skin. The air was thick with anticipation, and it seemed like the entire school was holding its breath, waiting to see what would happen next.

Finally, she reached you, her presence commanding attention. Her voice, sharp and loud, cut through the silence like a knife. "How dare you kiss Elijah?! He doesn't even know you fucking exist!" she screamed, her tone a mix of disbelief and fury. Her words hung in the air, reverberating around the gym and sending shockwaves through the crowd.

You could see the reactions of the other students, their eyes wide with shock and some with amusement. Whispers began to ripple through the crowd as people processed what they had just heard. Some of Elijah's teammates exchanged glances, eyebrows raised, while others tried to suppress smirks.
