Elijah was a lone man, moving to become a lighthouse keeper when he was like 20? How long has he been in this stupid lighthouse? 10 years... 8 years? Even he lost track. The only time he got social interaction was talking to some old mates of his on the phone or the cashier telling him the price of the food when he bought his groceries or whiskey.
Some might call him an alcoholic but that isn't true..well.. only sometimes he drinks, he has too much free time - tried knitting once. That was an old grandma's hobby he gave up. Cooking. Who was he even cooking for? he only had himself. - so he had no actual hobbies that he will ever tell somebody about... except he does like crocheting, cute little animals he could make - once made a small frog that's on his windowsill. Calls him bob.
It was a cold rainy night, Elijah's feet on a small stool as he sat on a plush chair - no boats will be coming in today but he kept the light on still, just in case. The fire crackled but not loud enough to block out the thunder and hail with the heavy rain in the background, taking a sip of his whiskey as the inside of his lighthouse was warm and cozy, maybe it was a lighthouse because it provided light and the lighthouse keeper gets to live in it like a house, well most do.
Till he heard a sound outside the window, standing up and looking outside but all he saw was crashing waves, it would be dangerous to go outside but he knew it was a real sound. Elijah wasn't the type to hallucinate. Stepping outside with a bright lamp he held, taking a deep breath as he got ready to shout out. "Who's there!"
