The reservation:

• New Jericho Counties Native American Reservation, known simply as ‘the reservation’ to most, houses the majority of New Jerichos Native American community, as well as some other families who have chosen to live there.

• though the reservation is normally seen as a nice place to live, there’s been recent gang activity which actively threatens the reservations peace.

Backstory:

• Growing up as an African American in Lamentations was hard, the back water town wasn’t really that welcoming if you looked any different. Big Papi was normally the butt of jokes in school and the target of countless acts of racism. He had to watch his mother and father be othered just for the color of their skin, his father being turned away from jobs and when he did manage to get one he was always the first to get fired if needs be. Big Papi’s mother was the one who taught him to cook and nurtured his love of food, eventually leading to his dream of opening a diner.

• When Big Papi first set up his Diner, no one would come. Solely because of the color of his skin. He had to work hard to build up trust in the community, doing little errands for people around town, being there for people when shit hit the fan. He worked hard and eventually it paid off, he managed to establish himself as a member of the community and before he knew it his diner was a hub for people to socialise and eat good food. But because of how hard he had to work for it, he’s fucking terrified of losing it.

Relationships:

• Jason: Big Papi’s son who he had with his ex-wife, he used to have him every weekend but when he reached the age of 18 he decided to stay with his mum full time. He still see’s him but not as often. He loves Jason but struggles to show his emotions and often ends up pushing him away.

• Cynthia: Big Papi’s ex wife who left him in bad terms, she said she found the fact that Big Papi was so warm with others but struggled to tell her he loves her disgusting, so she left him. Jason now lives with Cynthia and the only time Big Papi see’s Cynthia is when he drops Jason off.
