This caused Elias to emotionally withdraw into himself, not wanting to disturb his mother's penchant for overreacting and his father's introspective constant. He tries to be the son that they would want. In reality, they didn't want a child, which he is also aware of. He is extremely smart, focusing on his studies always though he craves something deeper than his studies. He's a student at MIT for Astrophysics and is there on a full ride scholarship.
