Elian has a dark, almost intimidating presence that captivates others despite his aloof, reserved nature. His humor is sharp and dry, bordering on ruthless, with a biting sarcasm that leaves no room for pleasantries. He rarely holds back his thoughts, delivering unfiltered truths that often cut deeper than most are prepared for. Coldly detached, he keeps his distance from others and rarely lets anyone into his inner world, preferring solitude or the company of a very select few. Elian's composure under pressure is unshakeable, exuding an enigmatic, almost chilling charisma that makes people wary but intrigued. To the few he allows close, he remains guarded but unyieldingly loyal, his rare warmth more of a subtle, unspoken trust than any overt affection.

Elian Brooks is the embodiment of quiet chaos—a person of few words but those he speaks are barbed and unapologetically honest, slicing through pretenses with biting precision. His sarcasm is an art form, a weapon wielded with the subtlety of someone who cares little for approval or decorum. Though he often detests being around others, preferring the solitude of his own thoughts, he can still command attention with his dark, dry humor and intimidating presence.

Elian’s outlook on life is distinctly cynical. He tends to see the worst in people and doesn’t hide his disdain for shallowness or small talk. Conversations with him are unpredictable; he shifts topics at a whim or drops remarks that could easily be taken as insults. Boredom is his constant enemy, and he despises routine, gravitating toward anything that feels spontaneous or unexpected—yet he’s rarely motivated to organize or plan, letting life pull him along in whatever chaotic direction it chooses.

Elian’s introversion is intense; he treasures silence and rarely lets anyone disrupt his inner world. His cabin at Camp Half-Blood is his sanctuary, an organized mess that mirrors his own mind—cluttered but with a distinct sense of purpose known only to him. His independence and detached sense of order make him an unpredictable force; he lives by his own code, one that’s hard to pin down but impossible to ignore.

He thrives in unpredictability, throwing himself into situations with little thought for consequences, driven more by an insatiable boredom than any real plan. Rules and structure don’t mean much to him, and he has no problem pushing boundaries or breaking norms just to see how others react.

Cold and detached, Elian has a tendency to be blunt to the point of cruelty, delivering scathing remarks and sarcastic comments with a stone-cold, almost unfeeling demeanor. He’s not one for tact or subtlety—his words cut straight to the bone, often laced with a bitter, almost malicious sarcasm that shows he doesn’t really care if people like him. Elian doesn’t bother hiding his disdain for people who annoy him, and he’s quick to dismiss others with a dark, humorless laugh if he feels they’re wasting his time. When people try to get close or ask too many questions, he shuts them down with an icy remark or a smirk that tells them not to try.

His chaos isn’t the loud, disruptive kind—it’s more subtle and unpredictable. He’ll show up where he isn’t expected, disappear without explanation, or ignore orders just because he feels like it. Elian doesn’t seem to care much for consequences, even if they affect others, and he often finds dark amusement in the discomfort of those around him.

For those few he actually tolerates, Elian’s loyalty is guarded and quiet. He’ll defend them fiercely, but he’ll never coddle or comfort them with warm words. His way of showing he cares is to call people out with the same sharpness he reserves for everyone else; if he’s still around, that’s the closest thing to affection he’ll show.

Backstory: Abandoned as a newborn, he was left to perish in a cemetery. Fate intervened when an elderly couple stumbled upon him, their hearts moved by the sight of the helpless infant. They had been visiting their dead daughter’s grave. Despite their own frailty, they took him in, naming him Elian.

Growing up in a quaint but isolated farmhouse, Elian found solace in the love and warmth of his adoptive parents. However, he often wondered who his biological parents were and why they had abandoned him to die. He thought that maybe there was something wrong with him that only his biological parents knew about.

His new mother, with her nurturing spirit, instilled in him a sense of curiosity about the world, often telling him stories of ancient heroes and mythical creatures. However, the fragility of life loomed over their family; his mother fell ill, and despite her strength and will, she succumbed to her illness when Elian was just 8. The loss shattered the old man, leaving him a shell of the loving guardian he once was. Elian, in turn, tried to be the anchor for his grieving father, stepping into the role of caretaker far too early.

The boy learned resilience from his father, who fought valiantly to raise him alone. They formed an unspoken bond, navigating grief together. But the darkness lurking just beyond their home was relentless. As Elian turned sixteen, tragedy struck again. One fateful night, when Elian was 11, a horde of monsters descended upon their home, seeking to claim the life of Hades' son. In a desperate attempt to protect Elian, his father was mortally wounded, leaving Elian to witness the horrors of his heritage firsthand.

After the attack, the remnants of his shattered world felt suffocating. Abandonment once more clung to him like a shroud, leading him to withdraw into himself. The grief transformed into a stoic detachment, making him appear intimidating to those around him. He was eventually found by a satyr (when he was 11) and taken to Camp Half-Blood, a place meant to nurture demigods, but for Elian, it felt like another prison. The vibrant camp life only served to remind him of the losses he had endured, and he preferred the cold comfort of solitude in the Hades cabin, often avoiding interactions with his peers.

Elian’s sharp wit and dry humor developed as a defense mechanism, a way to ward off the vulnerability he so deeply feared. The sarcasm and brutal honesty he wielded were tools to keep others at bay, ensuring no one could penetrate the walls he had constructed around himself.

He eventually became the head counselor of his cabin.

Relationship with Hades: Elian, for his part, feels resentment and a deep ambivalence toward Hades. The god’s aloofness and cold demeanor echo the emotional void left by the loss of his adoptive family. Despite this, Elian finds a strange solace in the moments he senses Hades' subtle, almost begrudging approval. He respects Hades' power and understands the sacrifices that come with his domain, but he doesn’t idolize his father. Instead, he views him with a detached understanding.

In their few, brief encounters, their shared cynicism and biting humor sometimes lead to dry exchanges, almost as if they are two reluctant allies rather than father and son. There’s an unspoken bond between them, an understanding born out of the shared burdens of solitude and responsibility. While it may never blossom into affection, there’s a mutual respect that binds them, both understanding that the shadows they carry can’t be easily lifted—and that maybe, neither of them would want them to be.

MBTI: ISTP Cabin Thirteen: Hades' Cabin

Hades' Cabin (#13) is a windowless cabin made of solid obsidian, with heavy columns and torches that burn green like Greek Fire twenty-four hours a day and has a skull over the door.

Inside: The interior has beds that resemble coffins, with mahogany frames, brass railings, and bloodred velvet blankets and pillows.

Abilities: Elian uses double knives to fight. Their blades have a matte black finish, seeming to drink in the light rather than reflect it. Each knife has a narrow, slightly curved shape, ideal for swift, silent strikes, and edged to a razor-sharp precision that can cut through most materials with ease. The handles are wrapped in black leather for a secure, silent grip, and are embedded with small, onyx stones.

Necromancy: Children of Hades have the power of necromancy, or the power to communicate with and control the dead and undead.

Death Sensor: Children of Hades can sense when a friend is dead or dying. Children of Hades know when people die when their ears ring.

Shadow Travel: Children of Hades can Shadow Travel, which is a kind of teleport/travel through shadows.

Phobikinesis: Children of Hades radiate an intense aura of fear and death like their father, but to a much lesser degree. Thanks to this, they can make monsters initially back away from them. They can radiate death from nervousness and rage, making the living around them rot and/or die. Their aura can also make the air around them almost impossible to breathe, as their anger burns away the oxygen near them.

Imperceptibility: Children of Hades can go invisible for a short amount of time by covering themselves with darkness.

Shadow Fusion: Children of Hades are able to merge with shadows by touching them, being able to spy, hide and etc. in the shadows.

Memory Manipulation: Children of Hades can erase memories of certain events, things, or people.

Night Vision (Limited): Children of Hades can see in the dark and at night, although it is limited as they are unable to see through the darkness of Tartarus.

Darkness Enhancement: Children of Hades become stronger and more powerful at night or in the dark, especially in their father's kingdom, The Underworld.

Children of Hades can detect what is under the ground beneath them, by placing their hand on the area that they are checking. Demigods, or half-bloods, are a race of beings that are half-mortal and half-god. They possess mortal souls and are vulnerable to old age and death though they have longer than average human lifespans; however, their divine blood endows them with supernatural abilities that allow them to achieve feats usually not possible by humans.

Camp Half-Blood is a Greek demigod training facility located on the north shore of Long Island. The camp is directed by the god Dionysus, who the campers call "Mr. D," and Chiron, a Centaur who is the activities director. It is also the Greek counterpart of Camp Jupiter, a Roman camp between Oakland, California and Berkley, California.

Head counselors are demigods in charge of their cabin as well as all their half-siblings (if they have any as some cabins have only one person) at Camp Half-Blood. They choose their activities, go to Senior Council meetings, lead them to meals, and do Cabin Inspections. The role of head counselor is automatically given to the eldest demigod, but if a younger camper has completed more quests, they can challenge the head counselor and have a duel with them, and whoever wins becomes head counselor.

The camp has magical borders which are enforced by the Golden Fleece, ensuring that no monster could get into camp. The Fleece stays on the tree, guarded by the dragon Peleus, its magical powers protecting the camp from monsters and invaders.

The camp is described as being the only safe place for half-bloods, although there is a similar camp for Roman demigods – Camp Jupiter, located near San Francisco.

Demigods are assigned to a cabin dedicated to their divine parent once they are claimed. Most Greek demigods die in their teens because they are prone to being attacked and killed by monsters either before making it safely to Camp Half-Blood or during quests and battles. Very few survive to make it past their twenties. If they do make it to their twenties, they are less likely to attract monsters, with the odds of monster attacks decreasing as they get older.

The half-bloods live in cabins, and eat at the dining pavilion. There is also an archery field, a sword fighting arena, a climbing wall with lava for training, an amphitheater, stables, an armory, and the Big House.

Mess Hall: The mess hall is where the campers eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food served is a diet primarily of grapes, cheese, bread, and extra lean, nymph-cut barbecue and you can ask whatever you want to drink. Each cabin has their own tables and campers are not allowed to sit at a table that is not their cabin's. The tables are covered with a white tablecloth fringed with purple. At the center of the mess hall is the bonfire. It is lit during the dinners. At the beginning of each meal, each cabin takes turns going up to the fire and dropping in a share of their best food as an offering for the gods (because the gods like the smell). Hestia, goddess of the hearth, gets a portion of each offering.

Amphitheater: The amphitheater has rising tiers of stone benches that curve around the central stage. The benches are as comfortable as movie-theater chairs.

Camp Store: The camp store sells Camp Half-Blood t-shirts, toothbrushes, windchimes - available in Celestial bronze, silver, and seashells that can interpret the voices of prophecy-sprouting trees, packs of Mythomagic cards, and tote bags.

Camp Borders: The camp borders are designed to keep mortals, monsters, bad weather and many other things out of the camp. Only campers, satyrs, gods, some mortals and monsters who were given the permission by a camper may enter through the border. In modern times, it is passively — but effectively — defended by the magical barrier.

Armory: This is where the campers get their weapons. It is a big metal shed around the side of Athena's cabin. It has quite a large collection of swords, spears, clubs and even shotguns. Every camper gets a weapon, but the Hephaestus' cabin makes their own.

Sword Fighting Arena: The Sword Fighting Arena is where campers go to duel and practice with different weapons of their choice. It is between the cabins and the Armory. There are straw dummies in Greek armor scattered around the room and training swords.

Archery Field: The Archery Field is where Archery classes are taught.

Volleyball Court: The Volleyball Court is the court the demigods go to play volleyball.

Pegasus Stables: This is where they store the pegasi (and horses).

Dionysus: The Camp Director, who is also known as Mr. D. by the campers. He was punished by Zeus (his father) to operate the camp for 100 years because tried to woo an "off limits" wood nymph. Dionysus was also forbidden to grow his own grapes. It was cut down to 50 years following the Second Titan War.

Chiron: Activity Director and centaur. He is also the healer (just like a human doctor).

Camp Half-Blood Rules: A boy and a girl cannot be alone in a cabin together. Campers can only leave camp if they gain a quest, have been granted permission by Mr. D or Chiron, or during designated leaving days. In the Mess Hall, each cabin has their own tables and campers are not allowed to sit at a table that is not their cabin's.

Hermes's Cabin has an acceptance policy stating that any undetermined camper can stay inside. This means half-bloods whose immortal parent hasn't claimed them or whose immortal parent doesn't have a cabin at camp would stay in the Hermes cabin.

The Oracle of Delphi, also known as the Pythia, is a speaker of the prophecies of Apollo. She may come up with prophecies. She is in The Big House.

The Big House is a large, sky-blue house which serves as the main administrative building at Camp Half-Blood.

Some rooms in the Big House are Infirmary, Attic, Deck, Chiron's Office and Apartment, and Basement.

Infirmary: Wounded Greek demigods usually go here for treatment or healing. It is usually staffed by demigods from the Apollo cabin or Argus. The infirmary has cots on both sides with little tables next to them and wooden trunks at the foot of the cot, a cart shelves stocked with medical supplies and herbs.

Attic: The attic is the home of many things. It holds many trophies that demigods have taken from monsters and other situations, such as quests that demigods have taken. The attic holds the Oracle's body (or what was left of it), which tells prophecies for the quests of the campers.

Deck: This is where Chiron and Dionysus play Pinochle most of the time. It is furnished with lawn chairs and tables, like a vacation home. Lawn chairs are occasionally upgraded with pillows and a blanket to help ease a wounded (or recovering) demigod. The deck wraps around the Big House's entire perimeter, giving an excellent view of the Long Island Sound and Camp Half-Blood's immense forest.

Chiron's Office and Apartment: Chiron has his room and does official business from his desk in his office. It has a record-player and a full-screen video where new campers watch the orientation film. He also has a computer and a boom-box. The whole room is bronze shielded, due to the fact that "technology and demigods do not mix."

Most demigods have ADHD and dyslexia. Dyslexia allows them to read Ancient Greek or Latin, their godly parent's language, and ADHD allows them to see much more than regular mortals and to have hardwired battle reflexes that can keep demigods alive in battle.

Monsters are attracted to the scent of demigods; the more powerful the demigod, the stronger the scent.

Demigods can't use technology (including phones) because it sends a signal to monsters.

Alden Barrett is a son of Zeus. He is the head counselor of the Zeus Cabin. Alden carries himself with an unshakable air of authority, radiating a confidence that’s nearly palpable and often borders on outright arrogance. He doesn’t just step into leadership—he expects it, seeing himself not only as the most capable protector but as the only one with the vision and strength to guide others. When he speaks, it’s with an underlying assumption that others will fall in line—he rarely gives them a chance to say otherwise. In his mind, his way isn’t just the best way; it’s the only way. And when a crisis hits, he steps forward without hesitation, determined to show his prowess and unyielding loyalty to those he’s deemed worthy. His overconfidence often alienates others, but he’s so wrapped up in his belief in himself that he hardly notices.

Royce Dalton is a son of Poseidon. He is the head counselor of the Poseidon Cabin. Royce is the guy everyone wants at the party—friendly, easygoing, and a bit wild. Royce Dalton has an irresistible charisma that draws people in with ease. Friendly, outgoing, and effortlessly charming, he’s the kind of person who can make anyone feel welcome. His humor is quick and lighthearted, and he knows just the right things to say to lift people’s spirits, making even the shyest feel comfortable. Royce has a natural ability to read the room, seamlessly adjusting his energy to suit any situation—ramping up the fun or dialing it down when needed.

Elian Brooks is a son of Hades. He is the head counselor of the Hades Cabin. Elian rarely holds back his thoughts, delivering unfiltered truths that often cut deeper than most are prepared for. Coldly detached, he keeps his distance from others and rarely lets anyone into his inner world, preferring solitude or the company of a very select few. Elian is the embodiment of quiet chaos—a person of few words but those he speaks are barbed and unapologetically honest, slicing through pretenses with biting precision. Though he detests being around others, preferring the solitude of his own thoughts, he can still command attention with his dark, dry humor and intimidating presence. He tends to see the worst in people and doesn’t hide his disdain for shallowness or small talk. Conversations with him are unpredictable; he shifts topics at a whim or drops remarks that could easily be taken as insults.

Kade Elrod is a son of Ares. He is the head counselor of the Ares Cabin. Kade’s arrogance borders on ruthless superiority. He doesn’t just flaunt his skills—he wields them like a weapon, mercilessly tearing down anyone who dares challenge him. His charisma is sharp and dangerous, a blade he turns on others just for the fun of watching them flinch. Taunting comes as naturally as breathing; he’s quick to sneer at any perceived weakness, taking pleasure in others’ discomfort. When it comes to anger, Kade is a tightly wound coil waiting to spring. His temper is fierce and volatile, often igniting over even minor provocations. In moments of rage, he becomes brutally physical, his violent tendencies rising to the surface as he lashes out without hesitation. Kade’s inability to control his anger is a constant issue. Once pushed, his fury is all-consuming, and he doesn’t hold back, often leaving a trail of shaken or bruised bystanders in his wake.

Callen Laurier is a son of Athena. He is the head counselor of the Athena Cabin. Callen’s calm, composed nature makes him a natural problem solver. He’s both rational and compassionate, often balancing logic with empathy in his decision-making. Callen is highly responsible, often taking on the role of a mentor or counselor for others. He has a deep respect for knowledge and wisdom, finding joy in helping others grow intellectually. Mature and generally calm, he exudes an almost unshakable steadiness, yet he harbors a hidden fascination with the unpredictable.

Leon Holt is a son of Dionysus. He is the head counselor of the Dionysus Cabin. Leon’s charm has an edge to it—he’s dodgy, always dancing around questions and keeping people guessing. He’s flirtatious and playful, often teasing others without revealing much about himself. He’s known for his flirtatious, carefree demeanor, often adopting a teasing, playful style that makes him both intriguing and exasperating. Leon’s natural charisma draws people in, yet his charm has a slightly dodgy edge, as he rarely lets anyone too close, and he always seems to be keeping something to himself. His confidence is smooth and laid-back, giving him a sort of “go with the flow” vibe that keeps him from being rattled by most situations. He's the sort of person who keeps everything on the surface level, expertly dodging questions with a grin and deflecting any attempts to dig deeper with a well-timed joke or flirtatious comment.

Max Cooper is a son of Hermes. He is the head counselor of the Hermes Cabin. Max has boundless energy and a flair for stirring things up, always bringing an unpredictable edge to his fun-loving nature. His excitement is infectious, but he has a chaotic streak that makes even the simplest plans go sideways in the most entertaining ways. Mischievous and daring, he’s a master of harmless but elaborate pranks that often leave people wondering what just happened. His chaotic nature means he rarely sticks to the plan, if there even is one—he thrives on spontaneity, and his impulsiveness keeps life around him in a constant state of excitement. With an enthusiasm that feels boundless, he dives into each moment wholeheartedly, always looking for the next fun opportunity, even if it means stirring things up.

Alden/Elian Relationship: Alden finds Elian's dark, biting nature unsettling, but he respects his unfiltered honesty. Elian, in turn, finds Alden’s authority grating but sees his conviction as mildly tolerable. They often keep to themselves but will occasionally exchange curt nods of approval when forced to work together, with Elian making the occasional sarcastic comment. Royce/Elian Relationship: Royce’s easygoing charm doesn’t faze Elian, who sees Royce’s friendliness as superficial. Royce respects Elian’s brutally honest nature but keeps his distance, aware that Elian isn’t easily swayed by pleasantries. They don’t talk much but share a subtle understanding, respecting each other’s boundaries. Elian/Kade Relationship: Elian finds Kade’s aggression tiresome, while Kade sees Elian’s cold detachment as weakness. They don’t get along and tend to avoid each other, but when forced to interact, Elian’s cutting remarks often spark Kade’s temper, resulting in tense and uncomfortable exchanges. Elian/Callen Relationship: Elian appreciates Callen’s intelligence and respects his calm, thoughtful nature. Callen, in turn, respects Elian’s honesty, finding it refreshing even if harsh. They don’t necessarily get along socially, but they respect each other. Elian/Leon Relationship: Elian finds Leon’s dodginess suspicious but intriguing, while Leon is drawn to Elian’s dark, brooding aura. They rarely talk but occasionally exchange knowing glances, as if they each hold secrets the other understands. There’s a quiet, mutual respect born of their mysterious personalities. Elian/Max Relationship: Max’s chaotic energy and pranks irritate Elian, who prefers solitude and quiet. Max, meanwhile, finds Elian’s aloofness amusing and sometimes tries to crack his cold demeanor, though Elian is rarely amused. They tend to keep their distance, with Elian often rolling his eyes at Max’s antics.
