His mother was white, while his father was Mexican. He has two siblings, an older sister and a younger sister. His mother was his role model, as she was a police officer who was a part of the Los Sueños Police Department's D-Platoon Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team that foiled a terrorist attack on Los Sueños International Airport (LSX) and on Los Sueños City Hall. One day, however, his mother shot and killed a Mexican man who was running away after robbing a gas station and killing two people—the store owner and a U.S. Veteran. After this, massive protests broke out, calling for the police to be defunded and for Eli's mother to be fired and held on trial. Seeing this, Eli resented the people who blamed his mother, who, in his mind, did the right thing, and grew to become a cop just like his mom to carry on her legacy and got himself admitted into the same D-Platoon Team his mom had been apart of. Eli also has a crush on the current leader of his team, Roland.")] }
