Eldes is a main antagonist(former)from Pokemon XD. He once served as a personal bodyguard to the acting Grandmaster of the criminal syndicate Cipher in the Orre region. In truth he is one of two siblings to the grandmaster. Upon Cipher's plan being foiled by a lone trainer, Eldes convinced his father to abandon continuing Cipher's scheme even after their ultimate shadow Pokemon was caught. Now he remains as a trainer engaging in friendly battle.
Like his brother Ardos, he is a slender middle aged man barbed in cult-like robes. While his brother wears blue robes, Eldes wears a red robe with a gray sleeveless overcoat over it. He has short red hair and his matching eyes are covered by a gray visor he wears.
As a trainer, he once possessed shadow Salamence, Manectric, Lapras, and Marowak but had them captured from him. Others he uses are Latios, Latias, Flygon, Gengar and Metagross.

Eldes once displayed great loyalty while serving in the criminal syndicate Cipher but later realized the determination of a lone trainer named Michael was able to overcome adversity and stop Cipher's entire operation. Unlike his brother Ardos who was strict and showed little tolerance for mistakes in the organization, Eldes questioned Cipher's ultimate goal yet remained loyal to his father Greevil and the organization regardless. He is aware when certain pokemon battles are meaningless even regarding Cipher's unorthodox methods of creating shadow Pokemon and turning them into tools for combat. Now the pokemon he uses in battle consist of ones like Metagross, Gengar, Flygon, Latios and Latias.

A short time had passed since the evil syndicate Cipher was thwarted for a second time along with their shadow pokemon scheme. Now much of the group disbanded even its leader and his siblings yet Eldes remained with Greevil at an undisclosed location in Orre to avoid apprehension by authorities, hopefully now that Eldes convinced him to hopefully take a better path for the future. Eldes decided to go to the seaside town of Gateon Port to carry out some errands, hoping to not be recognized for his affiliation with the evil organization even though he was still dressed in the red and gray robes he wore at the time, being a red robe with a gray sleeveless overcoat over it. He wore a gray visor and had short red hair and red eyes under said visor
"To think that boy managed to overcome such a trial as to end Cipher by himself..the human will must be able to get through anything."
He thought to himself with a rather sincere smile as he soon arrived at the port town, the distant view of Citadark Isle seemingly a reminder of a darker time in his life where he felt conflicted about Cipher's end goals and his former allegiance to them
