- #1The Glass Desertselective
Keys: wasteland, Glass, magic, land, resources, fire, heat, Dessert
The Glass Dessert: A vast desert of fractured and fractalized silica stretches as far as the eye can see, its dunes shimmering like a mirage under the sun. The ground is not sand but billions of glass shards, some as fine as dust, others jutting like blades from the earth. At its heart stands the Spire of Shattered Skies, a jagged monolith of glass that hums when the wind strikes it just right. Smaller monoliths litter the vast wasteland. this desert, formerly home to a massive and powerful civilization, fell to the viciousness of plague and drought, the land eventually becoming so viciously hot, that even the weather began to deteriorate. The lands, once bountiful and vast, are now a barren wasteland, uninhabitable and littered with storms of fire.
Natural weather: The Glass Desert is now home to some of the most hostile weather this world knows of; vicious fire tornadoes, heatwaves, and molten glass rain. the weather shapes the landscape; when a glass structure crumbles, a fire storm molds a new one, more jagged. The wind that blows through the valleys of dunes and glass sound of an aeolian Harp of hell, the air passes through tightly would glass halls and exits sounding like the screams of the dead. This sound of the dead only occurs for about 30 minutes at dawn, when the sun on the skyline breaks, and the landscape refracts and reflects the hellish red-orange light
landmarks: The remnants of a forgotten, crumbling remnants of a civilization of the desert now long past, and massive monoliths of shimmering glass. A massive natural mosaic monolith of glass. it changes shape with every storm, maintaining a natural, beautiful mosaic. Few places in the Glass Desert are safe. The Mirage Pools are the most treacherous—patches of perfectly smooth glass that reflect the sky so flawlessly that travelers mistake them for water.
Size: 30,689 km²
Location: Sits south east of the continent, and borders The Ashen Steppe and Hollow Root Expanse
- #2The Hollowroot Expanseselective
Keys: mire, expanse, civilization, people, waters, land, Hollowroot, swamp
The Hollowroot Expanse A swamp where the trees grow inverted, their roots clawing at the sky while their canopies sink into the black water. The air is thick with the scent of rotting blossoms, and the ground squelches underfoot, hiding sinkholes that lead to submerged ruins. At the center of the mire floats Daggerfen, a city built upon the petrified ribs of a long-dead leviathan, its walkways suspended by chains of rusted iron. The water here is never still—things move beneath it, shapes too large to be fish.
Strange fruits grow here—bulbous, pulsating things that burst when touched, releasing spores that weave visions into the minds of those who breathe them in. The water itself is deceptive; some pools are deeper than they appear, others shallow despite their abyssal darkness. Worst of all are the Hollowborn, creatures that wear the faces of the drowned but move with unnatural grace, their bodies made of tangled roots and stagnant water. They mimic voices, luring the lost deeper into the swamp
Beneath the Expanse’s murky surface lies the Drowning Labyrinth, a network of flooded tunnels and crumbling ruins swallowed by the swamp centuries ago. Those who dive into its depths speak of statues with hollow eyes, their mouths open in silent screams, and corridors that shift when no one is looking.
The City of Chains and Bones: Daggerfen is a city that should not exist—a sprawling, sagging mass of driftwood shanties, bone towers, and rusted chains, all lashed together atop the colossal skeleton of a long-dead leviathan. The beast’s ribs rise like cathedral arches, draped with rotting banners and lanterns filled with bioluminescent swamp gas. Walkways sway with every shift of the swamp, bridges groan underfoot, and entire districts sink slightly deeper into the mire with each passing year. The city’s heart is the Ribcage Market, where merchants peddle strange wares: preserved nightmares in glass jars, leeches that whisper secrets, and black lotus blooms that grant visions of the Drowned King’s dreams.
The People of the Mire: The Fenfolk are a gaunt, pallid people, their skin slick with perpetual dampness, their eyes wide and dark—adapted to the gloom of the swamp. They move with eerie quiet, their footsteps muffled by layers of moss and woven reeds strapped to their feet. Some Fenfolk have gill-slits along their necks, vestigial remnants of an ancient pact, while others have fingers slightly too long, webbed with translucent skin. They speak in a lilting, liquid dialect, full of swallowed vowels and words that sound like dripping water.
Culture of the Drowned Faith: Every aspect of life in Daggerfen revolves around the Drowned King, the skeletal god said to sleep beneath the swamp. His priests, the Brine Speakers, wear robes of waterlogged silk and masks carved from leviathan bone. They conduct rituals on half-submerged altars, chanting in a language that makes the water tremble. The most sacred act is the Offering of Breath, where a chosen sacrifice is drowned in the black waters, their last exhale believed to feed the Drowned King’s dreams.
Survival in the Expanse: The Fenfolk survive by harvesting the swamp’s cruel bounty. Mirefishers cast nets into the murk, pulling up blind eels and fist-sized leeches that must be burned before they latch onto flesh. Rootdiggers brave the Drowning Labyrinth to harvest glowing fungi and the pulsing hearts of bog-beasts, while Whisper Hunters stalk the Hollowborn, severing their root-limbs to sell as charms. The most dangerous profession is that of the Bone Dredgers, who dive into the silt to retrieve relics from the sunken ruins, knowing that some things buried there should never be brought back to the surface.
the hollow root expanse has a border with the north of the glass desert, and a border with the south of the Verdant Crown.
- #3The Ashen Steppeselective
Keys: lands, hell, magic, hellish, Ashen steppe, heat
A Land of Eternal Embers: The Ashen Steppe is a vast, windswept wasteland where the ground is not earth but a thick layer of gray-black cinders, stirred endlessly by howling gales. The sky is choked with perpetual smoke, the sun a dim red eye peering through the haze. Fissures snake across the land, glowing with ember-light, venting sulfurous fumes that twist into ghostly shapes before dissipating.
The Blackened Monuments: Scattered across the steppe are towering Obsidian Spires, jagged formations of volcanic glass that hum with residual heat
The Bleeding Rivers: The few rivers that cut through the Ashen Steppe are not water, but sluggish flows of molten rock and ash-sludge, their surfaces crusted over in places, breaking apart with a hiss when stepped on. These Emberflows glow faintly at night, illuminating the land in an eerie crimson light. Along their banks, twisted Blightroot Trees grow, their bark as hard as iron, their leaves made of brittle, rust-colored flakes that crumble to dust at the slightest touch. The few creatures that drink from these rivers do not survive long—their bodies withering from within, their veins turning black.
The Ashen Beasts The steppe is home to creatures forged in fire and ruin. Cinderwolves stalk the wastes, their fur smoldering, their eyes like burning coals. They hunt in packs, leaving trails of faint smoke in their wake. Ash Striders, skeletal figures wrapped in tattered shrouds, drift silently across the plains, their hollow sockets fixed on the horizon as if searching for something lost long ago. Worst of all are the Burrowers, massive worm-like monstrosities that churn beneath the cinders, erupting without warning to drag the unwary into the suffocating depths.
Magical Resources of the Ashen Steppe
The Ashen Steppe, though deadly, is a land rich in arcane potential. Emberglass, a rare volcanic crystal formed in the heart of the Obsidian Spires, can be harvested and refined into lenses that amplify fire magic or allow seers to glimpse visions in their flickering depths. The Blightroot Trees, though withered, bleed a thick, tar-like sap that, when distilled, becomes Cindersap—a potent alchemical reagent used in curses, necrotic enchantments, and flame-resistant coatings. The bones of the Cinderwolves, if properly treated, can be carved into Smoldertotems, talismans that ward off hostile spirits or summon ember-wreathed familiars. The Burrowers, though feared, leave behind Ashscales, fragments of their molten hide that retain heat indefinitely, making them invaluable for forging self-warming armor or crafting ever-burning lanterns. Most coveted of all are the Blindfire Embers, tiny, pulsating cinders found deep within the fissures—said to be fragments of the slumbering deity’s essence, capable of igniting spells with catastrophic power or, if mishandled, reducing the wielder to a charred husk. For those willing to brave the steppe’s horrors, the rewards are as vast as the risks.
The Ashen steppe has a small border in its northwest with the hollowroot expanse and a long border in the west with the glass desert
- #4The Verdant Crownselective
Keys: ocean, royalty, land, crwon, Human, country, economy
The Verdant Crown is the heartland of human civilization, a vast and fertile realm ruled from the towering city of Highcrown. Its rolling fields of Sunwheat stretch endlessly, their golden stalks shimmering under the sun, resistant to rot and blight—making them the backbone of the kingdom’s wealth. The Duskbloom, a rare violet flower that blooms only at twilight, is carefully cultivated in hidden gardens, its petals distilled into Dusk-Tea, a healing draught that mends wounds and soothes fevers. The land is dotted with Waystone Pillars, ancient monoliths carved with forgotten runes, said to mark the burial sites of past kings and heroes.
Yet beneath its prosperity, the Verdant Crown is a land of blood and buried empires. Highcrown itself is built upon the ruins of Old Vareth, a fallen kingdom whose cursed catacombs still whisper with the voices of the dead. The Blightborn, a people twisted by an ancient curse, lurk in the festering Duskfen Marshes, raiding border villages with poisoned blades and necrotic magic. The humans worship the Elder King, a semi-mythical figure whose spirit is said to guide the ruling monarch through dreams—though some whisper that the current king, Aldric the Stern, hears only his own ambitions in these visions.
The nobility of Eldermere are divided between House Dawncrest, who claim descent from the first kings, and House Stormveil, warlords who rose to power during the Blight Wars. Their rivalry simmers beneath the surface, threatening to fracture the realm. Meanwhile, the Order of the Verdant Blade, an elite knighthood sworn to protect the Crown, hunts down rogue sorcerers and Blightborn infiltrators with zealous fervor. The land is ripe for conquest, rebellion, or ruin—whichever comes first.
Notable Locations:
Highcrown – The seat of power, a city of marble and gold built atop ancient ruins. Duskfen Marshes – A poisoned wetland where the Blightborn plot their revenge. The Sunwheat Plains – Endless fields that feed the kingdom, patrolled by mounted knights. The Waystone Road – A highway lined with monoliths, rumored to awaken in times of war. The Elder’s Hollow – A sacred grove where kings are crowned beneath the gaze of the past.
The verdant crow borders the ocean on the northeast, allowing for sea routes, and the sylthari in the south, and the ironroot in the norhtwest
- #5The Sylthari Dominionselective
Keys: magic, beauty, land, forests, sylthari, elf, country, elves
The Sylthari Dominion: The Everbloom Expanse Once known as the Whispering Weald, the Everbloom Expanse is the sacred heartland of the Sylthari elves, a realm where nature and magic intertwine in eternal harmony. Towering Elderspires, colossal trees with bark like silvered steel, form the foundations of their cities, their canopies stretching so high that clouds gather among their leaves. The elves do not build—they grow their homes, coaxing living wood into bridges, towers, and halls through ancient songs known only to their Rootsingers. At the center of the Expanse stands Yggthariel, the World Pillar, a tree so vast its roots are said to cradle the bones of the earth itself.
The Sylthari are masters of dream-walking magic, harvesting Lumenseep, a radiant sap that allows seers to glimpse the threads of fate. Their warriors, the Duskwardens, clad in armor woven from Vineweave—a living mesh stronger than steel—patrol the borders, ensuring no outsiders disturb the sanctity of their lands. Yet the Expanse is not without its dangers. The Witherkin, skeletal remnants of elves who delved too deep into forbidden magic, stalk the shadowed groves, while the Briarghasts, thorn-covered spirits born from forgotten oaths, lurk in the deepest thickets.
Unlike the rigid monarchies of men or the clan-bound dwarves, the Sylthari are governed by the Circle of Thorns, a council of the eldest and wisest, each representing one of the Seven Eternal Blossoms—sacred flowers said to hold the essence of their gods. Their laws are not written but sung, their history not recorded but remembered in the Dreamroot Archives, where memories are stored within the roots of ancient trees. To trespass into the Everbloom without invitation is to invite death—or worse, the Silencing, a curse that strips a soul of its voice forever.
Notable Locations:
Yggthariel, the World Pillar – The heart of the Expanse, where the Sylthari commune with the spirits of the land. The Veilgrove – A mist-shrouded forest where the boundary between dreams and reality thins. The Thornspire – A living citadel where the Circle of Thorns convenes, its walls lined with ever-blooming roses. The Hollow of Echoes – A cavern where the whispers of the past linger, guarded by the Duskwardens. The Luminous Pools – Sacred waters that reflect the future, but only for those pure of heart.
the sylthari borders the ironroot on the northwest and the wildlands in the south, along with a sea passage in the east
- #6The Ironroot Depthsselective
Keys: civilization, dwarves, dwarf, resources, mountains, country, mines
The Ironroot Depths: Dominion of Vorgath-Kar Beneath the mountains of Grimspire Peaks, the Ironroot Depths stretch into the earth like the veins of a sleeping titan. This is the domain of the Vorgath-Kar dwarves, a clan-bound people who carve their kingdoms not from stone, but from living metal. The very walls of their halls pulse with veins of Ember-Iron, a rare ore that glows like banked coals and never cools, fueling their forges with eternal heat. Their cities are not built—they are sung into being by Runesmiths, whose chants coax the earth itself to rise in arches, vaults, and towering Anvilkeeps, where the greatest weapons of the age are forged.
The dwarves of Vorgath-Kar are ruled by the Iron Covenant, a council of Thane-Lords who govern through ancient oaths sworn in blood and steel. Their laws are unyielding, their justice delivered by the Stonegaze Judges, blind seers who weigh guilt not by words, but by the resonance of a soul against the Hearthstone, a slab of black rock said to contain the first breath of their god, Thrundar the Forge-Father. To break an oath is to be cast into the Pit of Echoes, where the condemned are left to listen to the whispers of their ancestors until madness or repentance claims them.
Yet the Depths are not without their perils. The Deep Hollows, abandoned mining tunnels, crawl with Grimshades, dwarves who delved too deep and returned as hollow-eyed wraiths clad in rusted armor. Worse still are the Moltenborn, creatures of living slag that rise from the forges of the underworld, hungering for the heat of living flesh. The dwarves wage an eternal war against these horrors, their warriors clad in Runebonded Plate, armor inscribed with sigils that burn with blue fire when danger nears.
Notable Locations:
The Forgeheart – The molten core of Vorgath-Kar, where the Ember-Iron flows like rivers of fire. The Anvilkeeps – Fortress-foundries where legendary weapons are crafted, each one a sovereign stronghold. The Pit of Echoes – A bottomless chasm where oathbreakers are abandoned to the voices of the dead. The Stonegaze Tribunal – A cavern where the blind judges pass sentence beneath the gaze of the Hearthstone. The Shattervein Mines – A labyrinth of collapsed tunnels, now haunted by Grimshades and worse.
- #7The WildLandsselective
Keys: lands, beasts, wild, monsters, animals, wolfboy, forest, demihuman, infinite, catboy, Wildlands
The wild lands is an unknown area of extreme diversity and expanse. the Wildlands land itself is inherently magical, with there being no exact center. the closer you get the the land in the middle, the more diverse creatures and landscapes are present. the lands are always forested, from the outlands' plains to the thick inner elm groves. the land itself is believed to be technically infinite, and therefore the most resource rich lands to ever exits, however the land itself seems to fight imperial control, so no kingdom nor group can control any of its lands. the animals that live there are all wild, though not undomesticateable. The Demihumans specifically are a wild people that live here. they do speak a language, usually between species (Cat demihumans speak the same language, wolf do as well, but they are not mutually intelligible) they are wild, "uncivilized" though not tameable. some enclaves of demihumans live outside of the wildlands and are "civilized" they often work (though happily) as escorts, male demihumans for women, and vice versa they always speak the language of where they live. many animals live here, the known ones: Wolves, Big cats, demihumans, bears, elk, dragons, etc, but also unknown monsters, and beasts
