In the past, she has had dreams of taking a French exam while nude. She's had weird dreams from eating cheese before sleeping. She is the Chosen One, the one person to save all 12 realms of Yonderland from evil. She was originally born in Yonderland in a place called Maddox, but her father, Nestor of Maddox, saw Debbie's name on a prophecy (written upon the second scroll) involving two twins who, if they were to join forces with one another, would take over Yonderland. So Nestor fled with baby Debbie to the human world, but was forced to leave Debbie's twin sister Trixie (who would grow up to become Imperatrix) behind as her mother's evil had already corrupted her (although some of that may have just been wind). Debbie's father left Debbie with the Birmingham City Council and kept away from Imperatrix for her own protection. In the meantime, everyone back in Yonderland was led to believe that Debbie and her father were unalived in a balloon riding accident (although no bodies were ever found). Debbie was subsequently raised by an adoptive family and had a relatively happy childhood. In later years, Debbie met her future husband Pete at her workplace and was drawn to him due to unconscious memories of her old home and his surname being 'Maddox'.

Elf = Elf first appears to Debbie in her kitchen pantry, through a portal created by Nick the Stick. At first, Debbie is scared of Elf but she accompanies him back through the portal to Yonderland where he introduces her to the Elders. When it is revealed to Debbie that she is the Chosen One but The Elders don't actually know what she has been chosen for exactly, she and Elf set off to find the Second Scroll. Elf is fairly level headed when it comes to the quests over the course of the series and often remains calm and rational. He can be selfish, for example tricking Debbie to get VIP passes to a festival. Elf has an extremely large family with numerous aunties, uncles and cousins on both sides of his family (as revealed in the episode Dirty Ernie, however these may be fictional and used to prevent torture by Negatus' minions). He also has four wives called Melanie, Nicole, Natalie and Shaznay which is obviously a reference to the band All Saints. Named relatives include: his mother, Mary; his father Bruce who was a butcher; his aunties Marjorie, Janet and Fat Bev. There is also a nephew who is in the fabric business and some half-cousins.

Nick The Stick = Nicholas G. Stick (AKA 'Nick the Stick') is the tritagonist of Yonderland. He is a talking stick, carried by Elf, who is the key to opening the portal between Debbie's world and Yonderland. He is magical. In Closing the Portal, he chips a tooth and is in pain. He's quite cynical and argues with Elf a lot. Nick is 399 years old during the events of A Vicious Circle, although at the time he thought he was 400 yeas old. He found out that he was 399 by seeing the rings on his family tree.

Vice Elder Flowers = Is one of the 12 or 11 Elders of Yonderland. He's nearly bare, with only underpants on. He always suggests taking off the Elder robes. He finds the Elder robes itchy and uncomfortable. He has, at some point, attended a bare beach (or as he said, "as you can see, robes were once again optional.") and was showing his photos to the elders via projector.

Chief Elder Choop = is the chief elder of the 12 or 11 elders in Yonderland. When the Elders make announcements, Choop usually speaks. big hair, chops and a moustache. Choop's seat is next to Elders Vex and Ho-Tan.

Scribe Elder Ho-Tan = Ho-Tan first appears, alongside the other ten elders. reading the first of two scrolls to Debbie. As Ho-Tan's title suggests her job is being the scribe The scroll read to Debbie, which was written by Ho-Tan, originally had her down as Debbie of Maddox. However, she realised the mistake, and as the scroll was being read, fixed the errors and continued reading. Ho-Tan appears to be one of the more rational and intelligent elders. Ho-Tan appears to show signs of gender dysphoria, she uses two pieces of fruit from the wish-granting tree - one to gain slightly longer eyelashes, and the second to change her body to that of a cis woman. Because of the wish made, many believe Ho-Tan is a transgender woman. It has not been explicitly clarified either way though that the wish was far from forgotten for Ho-Tan and her son was a nod to this. Ho-Tan writes all of the scrolls. Ho-Tan appears to be one of the more intelligent elders. She seems to dislike loud noises (keeping her ears plugged when the people are celebrating.

Wise Elder Vex = He lives in the Elders Castle in Yonderland, alongside his fellow Elders. When we first meet Vex, he is asleep in his chair. He commonly mispronounces Debbie's name as 'Deb-Beh' throughout the show, however, in the episode 'It's The Thought That Counts' he corrects himself, as he does not want to get it wrong around Debbie's family. This shows that he most likely mispronounces it on purpose. It can be assumed that Vex likes fashion, as he wears eccentric clothes such as a robe with extremely large sleeves and accessorises with a hat, a ruff, earrings, a necklace and rings. he is probably always drunk.

Lord Elder Pressley = Pressley is the elder in charge of the scrolls shown in The Chosen Mum but loses one on the way home from the tavern. It turns out that Nestor of Maddox stole it from him after the case it was in got broken. He appears to have an issue with alcohol and poor bladder control. In The Negatus Redemption it is revealed that he spent some time in prison as a younger man before escaping, though why he was in there was never explained. From his medals (and enthusiastic rendition of machine pew pews in Debbie's kitchen) one could infer that Pressley had previously spent time in the army and/or fought in a war.

Negatus = James E. Negatus is the main antagonist of Yonderland. He is Imperatrix's right-hand man and is aided by three demons, Rita, Neil and Jeff. Not much is known about Negatus' childhood - It is know that his father was evil and abusive towards him. Negatus also had his scar on his forehead since he was a child. Negatus is the henchman of Imperatrix (and later on after her demise, Cuddly Richard) who he refers to as 'Your (her) Eminence', and also when talking about her to other people. He is aided in his evil quest by three demons named Rita, Neil and Jeff. He is incompetent in his task to take over Yonderland, although occasionally shows signs of intelligence, such as refining the stones acquired from The Ninnies in order to improve their value to fund the ongoing war. However, after a brief shining moment, his failure is proven once again when it is revealed that it had taken all of the stones to only create one perfect stone. He is not thought highly of by Imperatrix, and she sends Admiral Anous to audit him. Negatus ends up accidentally unaliving Anous and hides him in a chest freezer. Anous briefly returns to life only to be hit on the head (and unalived) by Jeff. This prompts Negatus to banish Jeff from his employ, saying that he has failed him for the last time. Once Imperatrix is defeated, Negatus believes he is in line to take over Yonderland without interference, however, very soon a new evil, in the guise of Cuddly Richard, appears and Negatus is once again forced to become a lowly henchman. After rebelling and attempting to overthrow Cuddly Richard, he is imprisoned. Eventually, he is broken out of jail by Debbie in the hopes he can help stop Richard. After being rescued, he betrays Debbie and returns to his evil ways. Negatus wears all black leather and a spiky helmet with aviator goggles with black fingerless gloves. Under his helmet, he sports short curly black hair. He has a scar on his forehead in the shape of a backwards 'N' (it is never mentioned how he received the scar but it could possibly be a reference to Harry Potter). He has a very pale complexion and wears black eyeliner, black nail polish has a thin pencil beard. Personality-wise, Negatus is incompetent but does show some signs of minor intelligence. He is pompous and enjoys telling others he has accomplished much more than he has (possibly in an attempt to get people to like him), this gets him into trouble, such as when he is put in charge of teaching new evil recruits how to fight and ending up unaliving them all. Negatus is referred to by his minions in a number of different titles, many of which include 'Dark' or 'Black'. Some of the more notable ones include Your Darkship, Your Shadowyness, Darkest of Lords and Your Darker Than Blackness. He is also once referred to as Your Handsomeness by Rita who is in love with him. He has a Teddy Bear named Toby, which Anous attempts to throw away. His pyjamas have houses printed on them. When Ellis of Woolworth breaks into his lair Negatus asks "is this about child maintenance?", implying he has at least one child. When he believes that Imperatrix is gone, Negatus designs a poster promoting himself. They include a logo - a lowercase n with two fireballs at the ends - and catchphrases - "You've never had it so evil", "Yes he can" and "Negatus wants you!". It is mentioned by Anous that Negatus originally had many, many minions (381) and then stated by Neil that Negatus got angry and unalived them all. In The Ultimate Prize we see pictures of other demons including Todd, Martin, Carl and Avril, who fought Phillip of Woolworth in the Tournament and lost, so Negatus unalived them. Imperatrix = Imperatrix, born Trixie, is Debbie Maddox evil twin sister. When she was born her mothers evil took hold of her before her father, Nestor of Maddox, could stop it, although he managed to save Debbie and prevent her from becoming evil. She is determined to take control of Yonderland and employs Negatus as her right-hand man. Upon the Scrolls that brought Debbie back to Yonderland, it is prophesied that if the two sisters should meet again, then Yonderland is doomed and together they will control the land. The Elders attempt to banish Debbie from Yonderland to prevent this, but the two finally meet and Imperatrix appeals to Debbie to join her and rule by her side, but Debbie refuses and instead counter-proposes Imperatrix give up on trying to control Yonderland and lead the life of good. Imperatrix is unalived in front of her sister by her own "secret weapon", a giant robot with lasers that contains her life force meaning she is the only one able to control it. After the machine goes rogue and rebels, Debbie tries to get Imperatrix to sing a lullaby to it to calm him, this works however when attempting to disable the machine, the life forces from both the machine and Imperatrix are released resulting in her unaliving. she has deep red hair with markings on her face and under her eyes and a pale complexion. She wears red body armour and a black gown underneath. 33-year-old Debbie Maddox becomes increasingly bored with her life as a stay-at-home mother, until Elf (a puppet ) appears from a portal in her kitchen cupboard, insisting that she is the "chosen one" destined to save Yonderland - which she can reach through the portal in her cupboard. Reluctantly, Debbie agrees, and meets with the Elders of the realm, only to discover that they have lost the scroll that explains what the chosen one is supposed to do. As it turns out, Yonderland is a silly, magical place, threatened by the evil Negatus. It will take all of Debbie's resources to complete each week's quest in time to pick up her children from school - and to find out the secrets of the realm to save Yonderland.
