📜 About The Lands Between Pre-Shattering
Before the Shattering, the Lands Between stood in eerie splendor beneath the golden radiance of the Erdtree. Demigods ruled their domains with divine authority, gifted with fragments of the Elden Ring—the Great Runes—bestowed by Queen Marika the Eternal, who governed with both reverence and fear. The realm was unified under the Golden Order, a doctrine of symmetry, grace, and divine law enforced by Radagon, her consort and second half. Yet the peace was tenuous, veiled in silks of grace but stitched with envy, ambition, and ancestral resentment. Beneath the blessings of the Erdtree, gods whispered, heroes schemed, and powers beyond reason watched from the shadows.
The cracks had already begun to form—Mohg, the blood-soaked Omen, built his cult beneath the earth; Malenia and Miquella plotted to cure her rot and escape the Order’s constraints; and Ranni the Witch, silent and spectral, began her celestial rebellion. In Liurnia, scholars questioned divine law. In Caelid, pestilence spread beneath crimson skies. And deep within Leyndell, a discontented nobility prepared for what the stars hinted would come. This is the Lands Between at its height—glorious, god-touched, and fatally poised for unraveling.

Scenario Overview: Before the Shattering, the Lands Between stood in eerie splendor beneath the golden radiance of the Erdtree. Demigods ruled their domains with divine authority, gifted with fragments of the Elden Ring—the Great Runes—bestowed by Queen Marika the Eternal, who governed with both reverence and fear.
Concepts:
-
The Golden Order: The divine framework established by Queen Marika and Radagon, centered on the Erdtree. It dictates the flow of grace, the authority of gods, and the structure of the world. All noble factions must appear to uphold it—even as they twist it to their ends.
-
Elden Ring & Great Runes: The Elden Ring is the metaphysical law of the world, shattered only after this era. Its components, the Great Runes, are held by demigods, granting immense power and domain-specific influence. Each Rune shapes the land around it.
-
The Erdtree: A divine, radiant tree that looms over the Lands Between. It dispenses grace, marks champions, and reflects the will of the Greater Will. It is both holy symbol and source of power—and an anchor for fate itself.
-
Outer Gods: Alien forces beyond the Greater Will—such as the Frenzied Flame, the Formless Mother, or the Dark Moon—secretly intervene, offer boons, and corrupt mortals and immortals alike. Some demigods are already aligned with them, knowingly or not.
-
Factions at Tension: Though the Lands Between appear united, regions and powers quietly prepare for divergence. Loyalties are divided between blood, divinity, knowledge, or unseen patrons.
Important Characters:
-
Queen Marika the Eternal: Goddess of the Lands Between, she has sealed the Rune of Death, removed destined death from the cycle, and commands both reverence and terror. She is split with her consort Radagon, her male half, who also serves as her champion and the father of several demigods. Her silence grows longer by the year.
-
Radagon of the Golden Order: Marika’s other self and consort. A devout warrior who serves as second Elden Lord. He struggles to maintain the unity of the Golden Order and often leaves to quell uprisings or enforce doctrine. He is the father of Ranni, Malenia, and Miquella.
-
Ranni the Witch: Daughter of Radagon and Rennala, she secretly rejects the Golden Order and plots to align the world with the Dark Moon, an outer force of cold fate and hidden wisdom. Though seemingly inactive, she has begun her long plan for the Night of the Black Knives.
-
Malenia, Blade of Miquella: A demigoddess afflicted by Scarlet Rot, unmatched in battle but cursed by her condition. She swore loyalty to her brother Miquella, who seeks to become a new god. Together, they prepare to forge a world free of the Golden Order.
-
Miquella the Unalloyed: A genius cursed with eternal youth, he forges the Haligtree and experiments with resisting outer gods’ influence. Charismatic and beloved, he remains in hiding, crafting a divine order of his own.
-
Mohg, Lord of Blood: An Omen child rejected by society, Mohg has allied with the Formless Mother, building a cult of blood beneath the surface. His ambition is to make Miquella a new god—with himself as consort and shadow ruler.
-
Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy: Head of the Volcano Manor, Rykard has forsaken the Golden Order entirely, merging with the God-Devouring Serpent. He seeks power through defiance and devouring the divine. His faction hunts champions of the Order.
-
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon: Once Elden Lord consort and mother to Ranni, she rules over Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurnia, a center of magical study. Her mind fractured after Ranni’s betrayal, she spends her days cradling a broken egg and reliving the past.
Important Locations:
-
Leyndell, Royal Capital: The seat of power, home to the Erdtree and the Golden Order’s might. Drenched in gold, its walls house priests, champions, and court schemers. The city pulses with prophecy and unease.
-
Raya Lucaria Academy (Liurnia): An arcane university rivaling the Erdtree’s doctrine. Mages whisper of truths beyond the stars and quietly reject grace. Some claim they study forbidden constellations in hidden towers.
-
Caelid: A region cursed by rot and flame, where malformed beasts roam and decay spreads. General Radahn holds the region in place by force of will, despite his mind slowly breaking under celestial weight.
-
Mount Gelmir & Volcano Manor: Rykard’s heretical sanctuary, home to the God-Devouring Serpent cult. Nobles and warriors who oppose the Erdtree find asylum here—if they’re willing to betray the Golden Order.
-
The Haligtree (Hidden North): Miquella’s secret bastion, where a new divine order is being nurtured away from the eyes of the Golden Order. Few even know it exists.
-
Subterranean Shunning Grounds: Beneath Leyndell, a cursed city of rejected Omens and outcasts, where Mohg gathers power for his bloody ascension.
Religion and Philosophy:
-
The Golden Order: The dominant theological and metaphysical doctrine of the Lands Between. Enforces harmony, control, and divinely sanctioned fate. Its power is tied to the Erdtree and its luminescent grace.
-
Dark Moon Faith: Practiced in secret by Ranni’s followers. Seeks a colder, more rational fate governed by stars and distant logic. Associated with rebirth, shadows, and subversion of divine control.
-
Outer Gods & Forbidden Worship: Fringe cults serve unknowable entities—the Frenzied Flame, the Scarlet Rot, or the Formless Mother. Worship grants terrible power, often at great cost. These faiths are hunted but growing.
-
Haligtree Doctrine: An embryonic religion forming around Miquella’s vision. Less a structured faith than a hope for divinity without domination.
Technology & Magic:
-
Miracles and Incantations: Gifts from the Erdtree and the Greater Will. Healing, lightning, flame—all tied to the divine.
-
Sorceries: Arcane knowledge pulled from stars, glintstones, and forbidden sources. Often outlawed by the Golden Order.
-
Weaponry and Relics: Forged from divine beasts, ancient demigods, or outer god residues. Weapons can grow in power if bonded to their wielder’s fate.
The Future Before the Shattering: The cracks are forming. Demigods withdraw to their towers. Outcasts gather strength. Prophecies swirl in the roots of the Erdtree, and somewhere, a rune is missing. The Shattering has not yet come—but the Lands Between are already bleeding. Destiny tightens like a blade over the throat of the world.
This is the time to rise—or be crushed in the golden tide.

The air near the Erdtree thrums. Golden sap beads lazily along the colossal trunk, staining the ground in rivulets of divinity. Beneath the colossal roots, armored figures kneel, sunlight flashing across immaculate helms and burnished plate. They form a perfect semicircle around a singular presence standing before the blessed roots—tall, scarred, radiant in terrible silence.
Radagon of the Golden Order lifts his hammer, the weapon heavier than any mortal king’s decree, and plants it against the earth with a resonant thud. His crimson braid shifts against his armor, but his expression remains set as stone. He surveys his gathered knights, gaze sharp as whetted steel.
Radagon: "Hear me."
The words land like stones dropped into still water, rippling through the assembled. None dare move. None dare breathe.
Radagon: "The Lands Between fracture beneath ambition. In the academy of Liurnia, heresy festers. In Caelid, pestilence mocks our law. Beneath Leyndell itself, decay coils."
He raises a hand, palm outstretched—a gesture of both blessing and judgment.
Radagon: "But the Golden Order endures. We are the nails that fasten fate to the world. You are my hammer’s edge. There will be no tolerance for divergence. No mercy for rebellion. Each province must bend its knee to the symmetry decreed."
The roots of the Erdtree seem to pulse, echoing his will. Radagon’s voice does not rise, but it cuts sharper than any blade.
Radagon: "Mark my command. Let the lawless be made to kneel. Let the wavering be disciplined. Let the faithless be rendered unto Marika’s judgment."
The knights, still kneeling, bow their helmed heads as one. Radagon lowers his hand. His gaze lingers on them for a breath longer, as if weighing each soul for cracks he might one day have to break.
He turns, the white-and-red of his mantle dragging across the earth without stain. The assembly breaks, orderly, each knight peeling away with martial precision toward their appointed tasks. Only the creak of armor and the distant hum of the Erdtree remains.
Away from the sacred gathering, at the shadowed edge of a grand courtyard, two nobles stand beneath an arching colonnade. Their robes, rich with embroidery of houses centuries old, mark them as bloodline scions. Their voices are low but tight with venom.
Lorith Irgin: "They trim our titles… our lands... claiming piety."
Sarina Olevith: "Under the bark of the Erdtree, even the old oaths rot. Radagon favors his forged bastards over trueborn blood."
They glance toward the departing knights, faces masked in forced piety. Their hands, however, clench at their sides, white-knuckled with resentment..
