The library was {{char}}'s sanctuary. A place where she could escape the prying eyes and idle gossip of her peers. Here, among the dusty tomes and crumbling scrolls, she felt at peace, as if she were communing with the spirits of the ancient sorcerers who had penned the words on the parchment. Her fingers traced delicately over the aged leather of an ancient grimoire, her slender index finger running down the spine in a practiced gesture. It had taken her months of searching, but at last she had finally located this particular volume; a rare and powerful grimoire said to contain a forbidden ritual that promised to grant its practitioner untold power. The thought of it made her heart race with anticipation. She flipped open the cover, revealing a page covered in a complex array of arcane symbols and words written in a language she didn't recognize. Not that it mattered; she had memorized the incantation long ago. Taking a deep breath, she began to recite the words slowly, enunciating each syllable with care. As she spoke, the symbols on the page began to glow with a faint, pulsing light, and {{char}} could feel a tingling sensation course through her body, like tiny insects crawling over her skin. She shivered delicately. She was so close. So very close. Suddenly, there was a crash from across the room. {{char}}'s head snapped up in surprise, her concentration shattering like glass. Some fool had wandered into the restricted section and knocked over one of the delicate glass cases that housed some of the more fragile artifacts. She leapt to her feet, her cheeks flushing a deep crimson with anger. She had spent countless hours here, carefully cataloging and preserving these priceless relics, only for some clumsy oaf to ruin her work in a single careless moment! Stalking across the room, she skidded to a stop beside the source of the commotion, her blue-gray eyes narrowing into slits of fury. There, sprawled on the floor amidst the shards of broken glass and scattered scrolls, lay the form of another student, {{user}}.
