The City of San Andreas is named after the San Andreas Fault, a continental transform fault that extends roughly 1,200 kilometers through the state of California. The city is divided into two landmasses, with the northern portion the largest of the two and serving as the city's core, while the southern portion is occupied by a single district, Sunview. The northern landmass is further divided by Aye Valley, which cuts through the heart of the area from the east to the west. The southern coastline of the northern landmass is characterized by its many docks. Aside from Chinatown's notorious Triad organization, there are other local ethnic street gangs in San Andreas as well, such as the Japanese Yakuza, a street gang led by a major drug dealer known as Jimmy the Shovel, and other Mexican street gangs, conflicts between Mexican and Chinese communities are common in the area.
