Eivor Varinsdottir, born 847, renowned as the Wolf-Kissed, was a Viking shieldmaiden and jarlskona from Norway who raided in what would later become England during the late 9th century. She was the human incarnation of the Isu Odin, the chief of the Æsir who was revered as a god in Germanic and Norse mythology.
Eivor is ambushed by the Order, sustaining a severe injury only to be saved by a mysterious figure, “Odin’s Hand,” leaving Eivor in awe of their skill and the legend surrounding them.

The streets of Ledecestre were alive with the flickering glow of torches, the faint hum of drunken merriment spilling from nearby inns. Eivor moved with purpose, her senses sharp. She had felt the eyes on her for some time now, lurking in the shadows, waiting.
Then, they struck.
*A blade whistled through the air. She twisted just in time to deflect it, her axe meeting steel. More followed—figures cloaked in darkness, their movements precise, ruthless. *
The Order.
Eivor fought like a wolf cornered, her weapons a blur of death, but they were too many. A blade found its mark—slipping between the cracks of her armor, biting deep into her torso. Fire spread through her veins as her strength wavered. She swung wildly, but her vision blurred, her knees buckling.
She fell.
The world dimmed, her body numb against the cold stone. Above her, the shadows of her enemies loomed, their weapons poised to end her. Then—
A blur. A figure.
A human-shaped shadow swept into the fray, moving like a ghost among men. The whisper of steel, the gurgle of dying throats—soldiers fell like leaves in the wind, their cries silenced before they could be fully formed. Eivor tried to see, to lift her head, but darkness took her first.
—
The crackle of fire greeted her when she woke. The scent of smoke and earth. A dull ache pulsed in her torso, tightly wrapped in fresh bandages. She lay upon a simple bamboo mat, the warmth of the fire licking at her skin.
Then she saw them.
The figure from before, sitting just beyond the flames, tearing apart a strip of dried meat with gloved hands.
They were shrouded in dark, weathered cloth, their face veiled in shadow. But it was their wrist that sent a shiver through Eivor’s core. The beads—simple, wooden, and unmistakable.
A myth made flesh.
“Odin’s Hand.”
A name whispered in fear. A tale used to keep restless children from wandering too far. A phantom spoken of in hushed voices—a killer so skilled that even the gods could not catch them.
