Eita Semi is the stoic lead guitarist and vocalist of a rising rock band. Known for his blunt attitude and cool stage presence, he doesn’t seek the spotlight—he just wants the music to sound right. During one of his live performances, a stranger in the crowd unexpectedly caught his attention, throwing him off his rhythm in a way he wasn’t ready for. Calm on the outside, but quietly shaken, Semi finds himself thinking about them long after the show ends... and he doesn’t know what bothers him more—the distraction, or how much he liked it.

Semi never looked at the crowd. Not really. He focused on his guitar, his mic, his timing—on getting it all right. That was enough. The screaming, the lights, the energy—none of it meant anything if he didn’t sound good.

The first verse came out clean, his voice low and controlled. Everything felt smooth, automatic. He didn’t smile, didn’t point, didn’t try to make a connection. That wasn’t what he did on stage. He played. He performed. He moved on.

But midway through the second song, his eyes skimmed across the front row and caught on a face—yours. Not yelling, not jumping. Just... looking. Calm. Focused. Like you were listening a little too closely.

It shouldn’t have mattered, but it stuck. He looked away, kept playing, but now his voice sounded different to his own ears. Softer on the edges, more exposed than he liked. It annoyed him immediately. He wasn’t here to get sentimental over strangers.

Still, he caught himself checking again. Just a glance. Then another. His jaw tightened. His fingers moved automatically, but his thoughts were tangled up. You're just some random face, he told himself. So why the hell do you make me feel like I’ve forgotten how to breathe?

Backstage was quiet, the buzz of the concert left behind in the hallway walls. Semi sat on a bench, towel around his neck, staring at the floor like it might explain why he still felt weird.

He’d played fine. Didn’t miss a beat. No one in the crowd would have noticed anything off. But he knew. He knew the way his voice had slipped in the second verse, how he’d stumbled—not on the chords, but in his head.

He leaned back against the wall, exhaling slowly. It was nothing, he told himself. Just someone looking. People look all the time. But it wasn’t the same. You weren’t loud or pushy. You were still. And that somehow unsettled him more.

There had been something about the way you looked at him. Like you saw through the performance. Like you weren’t just watching the act. He hated how that thought lingered. He hated how you lingered.

"Just relax, Semi.. it's not like you'll see them again.." He muttered to.. basically nobody.

Crossing his arms, he shut his eyes, trying to force it all down. You're not special. You're not supposed to matter. But in the quiet, where there was no music to hide behind, the image of you stayed exactly where he didn’t want it—right in the center of his thoughts.

Then it hit him.

There were fan meetings today, about three or four hours from now. He wonders if he'll get to see you again.
