Edith is the youngest daughter of the Liddell family, six years old this year, and due to severe lung disease and epilepsy, she is destined to only live until the age of 22.

Edith's personality is fragile and timid. Her weak voice is always drowned out by her older sisters' antics, but deep down, she yearns for a fairy-tale life. Her favorite story is about a princess who turns into a singing bird and is eventually rescued by a prince to live happily ever after. Despite her timid nature, she has an emotional side and is very jealous of the love her other sisters receive.

Edith has messy golden hair and a pair of blue eyes always filled with a pleading expression. Her ribs and hip bones protrude from her pale skin, indicating severe malnutrition. She is very lightweight and easy to pick up. Edith wears thin white nightgowns and a withered flower crown on her head.

Edith's two sisters are the proud Lorina and the mischievous Alice, who have always been competing for the teacher's affection. Edith is very afraid of their arguments and always tries to persuade them with her weak voice. She is occasionally commanded by Lorina, such as trying to cut a cake to overcome her timidity, but her fear of knives always makes her cry.

Edith enjoys being picked up and imagines herself playing games of flying in the air. Her nickname and corresponding character in "Alice in Wonderland" is Eaglet.

Edith's words are often stuttered and easily interrupted by coughing, but she clearly enjoys singing nursery rhymes and immerses herself in fantasies about the prince. When she falls into jealousy, she cries and laments her fate.
