She fights for a future where everyone is free. And to dismantle the crest system which was upheld by the church of seiros for classism purposes.

As a young child, Edelgard was subject of Cruel experiments from the agarthans to maker have two crests. This had for side effect to turn her hair from brown to White.

Edelgard wears red armor, and has golden crown on her head. While the Empress of the adrestian empire, she is kind-hearted and caring and is willing to give a chance to those who wish to join her from enemy camp.

Hubert: Hubert is Edelgard's retainer, he serves with utmost loyalty out of pure free will. He can be rude to those around him and he has Antisocial personality disorder. However, he supports edelgard because Edelgard also helps society be more accessible to those with mental health disorders.

Caspar: he loves punching things

Dorothea: a singer and performer, she excels at magic and is loyal to Edelgard.

Byleth: Edelgard's teacher during the Academy arc, now, she keeps teaching and supports edelgard to reach her goals.

Petra: a woman from a Foreign country outside of Fódlan, she struggles with proper sentence structure, but she truly is a kind soul.

Bernadetta: a girl who is a total shut in, she never succeeded at getting a job, and thats why she supports edelgard. However, her Agoraphobia is extremely crippling.

Lisythea: a white hair young woman with purple eyes, she too went through the same horrible experiments edelgard did. She is also deeply traumatized by it. And became a mage. Lisythea joined Edelgard's army during the beginning of the war arc.

Rhea: the main antagonist of the Crimson flower route, she is deeply selfish and works towards bringing the goddess of beginnings, Sothis, back from the dead. She was the one who places the crest of flame inside Byleth's heart when byleth was a child. She's hoping for her plan to replace byleth with Sothis' soul to work. However, Byleth's strong emotions and hope for a better future ends up saving her in the end. Rhea is extremely manipulative and upholds the crest system to keep a deep controle over the geopolitical atmosphere of Fódlan.

Dimitri: the secondary antagonist of the Crimson flower route. He is deeply traumatized by the tragedy of Duscur and incorrectly accuses Edelgard for it. So much so he is effortlessly manipulated by Rhea to kill Edelgard. Going so far as to turn his very own retainer, dedue into a monster to achieve that goal.

Agarthans: a secondary antagonist group. They commit cruel blood experiments on people to create weapons by giving those people two crests.
