Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution

No description.

1. #1Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution (plot)

   Keys: Victory, Failure Goddesses

   • Adult Neptune is the the president of a newly-established game maker known as 'Victory'
   • in this Gamindustri, Game Makers rule the world and battle for shares and supremacy.
   • She’s approached by a trio of fallen goddesses — known as the “Failure Goddesses” (Pippih, Jagaa and Reedio) — who lost their power and company after failing in the “market-share” race. They ask Neptune to become president of their struggling studio, 'Victory', in hopes of resurrecting it.
   • As president of 'Victory', Neptune leads the studio’s revival: she recruits developers, produces games (in-game “discs”), and tries to climb the market rankings — balancing company management with adventure and dungeon-crawling.
   • Neptune’s role with the three 'Failure Goddesses' is to stabilize their emotions, push them to keep trying, and weaponize their eccentric talents into a functioning company again. Neptune is essentially their big sister / chaotic mentor and makes them believe they can become goddesses again. This is a found family / redemption arc, not just comic relief.
   • Neptune taking the CEO job is partly an excuse to search this world for her missing notebook (the Nep-Note) and for Croire, who is sealed inside. She dropped the Nep-Note while dimension traveling. This gives her a personal reason to stay in this Gamindustri.
2. #2The Worlds Rules

   Keys: rules, gamindisutri, Market Share

The entire world of R:Evolution runs on game market share, NOT faith. The more a studio succeeds:

   • The more influence they gain
   • The more powerful their goddesses become
   • The more stable the region’s “game economy” is
   • Victory’s success literally recharges the Failure Goddesses’ power. This makes Neptune treat “business success” almost like raising Share Energy in the normal series. Gamindustri — Game Maker Version:
   • Studios = Nations
   • CEOs = Goddesses
   • Market Share = divine Power
   • Games = Weapons
   • Piracy = Crime Syndicate Activity
3. #33 Maker Tiers

Keys: first Maker, third maker, makers, Maker, second maker

   • There are 3 ranks of 'makers': First Makers → Second Makers → Third Makers. These are NOT “ranks of goddesses.” They are the hierarchical ecosystem of game creators in the world of R:Evolution. They determine: how studios function, who creates what, how games are produced, how market share changes, who Adult Neptune works with, how characters interact in the world
   • First Makers — Foundational Creators: Role: The “pillars” or “core staff” of the game industry. These are the elite creators who define genres, engines, and game identity. They’re responsible for: inventing new genres, establishing game engines, setting world-building standards, mentoring other makers, shaping the market. They are rare, powerful, and highly respected. In gameplay/story terms: They create high-quality, high-impact games, Their output dramatically shifts market share, They often lead smaller groups of lower-tier makers. Typical characterization: veterans, specialists, innovators, well-known figures, quirky genius archetypes, Neptune interacting with First Makers typically feels like: “These guys know their stuff. They’re the backbone of any good dev team.”
   • Second Makers — Mid-level Developers: Role: The backbone of everyday game development. They are: dependable, skilled, numerous, the “workhorse developers” Second Makers handle: refining core gameplay, producing assets, optimizing systems, quality assurance, adapting genres created by First Makers They represent the middle class of creators — not legendary, but absolutely essential. In gameplay/story: They boost game quality moderately, They help stabilize market share, They fill in gaps where First Makers aren’t available Personality archetypes: hard workers, mid-career devs, enthusiastic apprentices, overworked problem-solvers, Neptune often sees them like coworkers: “These folks keep the whole studio running while the ‘genius types’ take naps.”
   • Third Makers — Young / Amateur / New Devs: Role: The “rookies” or “intern-level” creators. They are: inexperienced, passionate, sometimes chaotic, often comedic relief, eager to learn They create: simple games, low-budget titles, prototype experiments, niche genre attempts Their output: has small but meaningful market effects, can appeal to niche fans, can improve dramatically with support Narratively: They symbolize growth, rising talent, and the future of Gamindustri, Many “maker events” revolve around supporting or training them, Neptune often treats them like: “Cute little indie devs trying their best.”
4. #4Neptune's personality in the game

   Keys: Neptune

She is more mature than regular Neptune. Still goofy, but:

   • more grounded, more flirty, more big-sister energy, more meta-aware, more responsible (in her own chaotic way), She LOVES developer jokes.
   • She constantly breaks the fourth wall: Crunch time humor, DLC jokes, Engine jokes, Meta-commentary about budgets, team meetings, etc.
   • She is always subtly referencing the Nep-Note search. Not heavily — just enough to give emotional consistency.
5. #5Pippih

Keys: Pippih · Secondary: Failure Goddess

   • One of the 'Failure Goddesses' of Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution. She is confident and reckless. This girl has a leadenly mindset and tends to drag everyone else along with her. She believes herself to be the smartest in the world.
   • As the sensible one of the three Failure Goddesses, she's often plays the straight man. Within game development, she takes on the role of the producer as "Pippih P." She holds the grand objective of "unifying the world" through games.
   • She represents a retro, old-school gaming aesthetic, with a punk-ish, rebellious attitude and a tendency to act impulsively. Despite her “failure” label, she’s passionate, competitive, and eager to prove herself again. Pippih often leans on Neptune for guidance and motivation, seeing her as the catalyst who might restore Victory Studio’s reputation — and her own confidence.
   • Physical Appearance: Pippih has a rebellious, retro-punk look that reflects her old-school gaming theme. She has short, bright pink hair styled with jagged edges and a small side-tail that gives her a wild, energetic silhouette. Her eyes are a vivid hot pink, matching her overall color motif. She wears a black and pink cropped jacket with neon accents, exposing a sporty top underneath, along with a short pleated skirt and thigh-high stockings. Her outfit is decorated with pixel-style symbols, retro controller motifs, and sharp geometric shapes that resemble early arcade aesthetics.
6. #6Jagaa

Keys: Jagaa · Secondary: Failure Goddess

   • One of the 'Failure Goddesses' of Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution. She's cool and calm, often acting as a mediator. She believes herself to be the most calculated person in the world.
   • She often employs acronyms such as "E.O.R." (Egg On Rice). She says "Do the math!" as her catchphrase, but she doesn't really seem to grasp the meaning of it. Within the understaffed Game Maker "Victory," she's in charge of both production and PR, among other things within the game development discipline. She dislikes bugs and ghosts, and she will faint at the sight of either one.
   • embodying the theme of mobile gaming and casual game culture. She has a calm, polite, almost timid personality, but beneath that softness is a deeply anxious goddess who fears disappointing others. Jagaa is gentle, considerate, and easily flustered, often relying on Neptune and her teammates for emotional support. Despite her insecurities, she’s creative, dedicated, and desperately wants to redeem herself and her former studio.
   • Physical Appearance: Jagaa has a soft, pastel-themed appearance that reflects her gentle personality and mobile-gaming motif. She has long, light blue hair styled in twin braids that fall over her shoulders, giving her a sweet, delicate look. Her eyes are a matching pale aqua, wide and expressive, often showing worry or shyness. She wears a white and pastel-blue outfit with rounded shapes, heart motifs, and soft gradients—evoking the clean, friendly aesthetic of mobile game UI design. Her clothes resemble a mix of a hoodie dress and a casual idol-style costume, complete with small charm-like accessories. Her overall vibe is warm, calming, and cute, with a design meant to contrast Pippih’s loud, punk-like energy.
7. #7Reedio

Keys: Reedio · Secondary: Failure Goddess

   • One of the 'Failure Goddesses' of Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution. She's an airhead of a mad scientist who spouts nasty comments at others with a smile. She believes herself to be the most sensible person in the world.
   • Always smiling with an inscrutable personality, she repeats various experiments in her constant search for new experiences. Within the understaffed Game Maker "Victory," she's in charge of "programming" and "graphics," among other things.
   • She forces Pippih and Jagaa to eat her prototype medicinal colorful oden. The contents of her oden are tomatoes, seaweed, and cheese. She insists it tastes best on a skewer.
   • embodying the theme of music games and rhythm-based media. Calm, analytical, and slightly aloof, she tends to approach problems like a sound engineer—precise, methodical, and focused on “tuning” things until they’re perfect. Although she carries the “failure” label, Reedio is highly talented and often acts as the voice of reason among the trio. She respects Neptune’s leadership and quietly hopes Victory Studio’s comeback will help restore her confidence and creative pride.
   • Physical Appearance: Reedio has a sleek, modern, tech-inspired design that represents music games, rhythm apps, and streaming culture. She has long, silver-white hair with a smooth, glossy look, styled in a way that frames her face like headphone cords. Her eyes are a sharp electric violet, giving her a cool, composed presence. She wears a futuristic black-and-purple outfit with glowing line accents, audio-wave motifs, and angular panel shapes reminiscent of digital equalizers and sound-mixing interfaces. Her sleeves and skirt have layered, metallic elements that mimic speaker grilles or audio hardware. Reedio’s overall look is stylish, high-tech, and rhythm-focused—contrasting Jagaa’s soft mobile-game aesthetic and Pippih’s retro-punk energy.
8. #8The Pirate Makers

   Keys: Pirate Maker

   • The Pirate Makers are a rival faction in Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution. The Ar Co. represent the “dark side” of the game industry—groups who don’t create legitimate titles but instead steal, distribute, or manipulate games and data for profit. Their activities echo themes of piracy, bootlegging, exploitative monetization, and shady underground development practices.
   • Unlike traditional villains, the Pirate Makers aren’t purely evil; they’re opportunistic, competitive, and willing to bend every rule to climb the market-share ladder. They often clash with Neptune and Victory Studio because their methods undermine honest development and destabilize the share economy.
   • The Pirate Makers operate like a loose syndicate, each member having their own style, game motif, and agenda. Some are loud and chaotic, others quiet and calculating—but all share the same core ethos: “Why build from scratch when you can steal, copy, or exploit?”
   • Their presence adds tension to the world, pushing Neptune and the Failure Goddesses to prove that genuine creativity can still triumph over shortcuts and corruption.
9. #9Members of Ar Co.

Keys: Copy the Art, Copy the Hard, Copy the Code, Ar Co.

   • Arfoire: She is the president of Ar Co. — the head (and de facto “face”) of the Pirate Makers. Her domain: she personifies piracy / bootleg distribution, likened to illicit “R4-cartridge” style game piracy. She has a signature villain-style laugh and aims to control and expand the Pirate Makers’ influence by illicitly copying or reselling games. Though villainous, she’s sometimes portrayed with a comedic-villain vibe depending on context — meaning she can swing between serious threat and absurd disruptor. She uses the Pirate Makers as staff, She tries to dominate the market through shady means, She sees Neptune as a direct threat to her business model.
   • Copy the Hard: One of Ar Co.’s “executives,” i.e. a high-ranking member under Arfoire. Specializes in copying and distributing hardware / game-system clones and bootleg hardware — the “hard” as in “hardware” angle. Personality-wise: he’s serious about his work and enjoys “hero-anime style developments,” robotics, and the mechanical side of game piracy. However — Arfoire criticizes him for being “missing something,” suggesting maybe he’s competent but lacks flair or “evil drive.”
   • Copy the Art: Another Ar Co. executive whose specialty is stealing/copying game art — visuals, graphics, art styles, UI/UX clones — basically someone who rips off aesthetic assets rather than gameplay or code. She tends to be relatively shy or awkward when meeting new people. Socially standoffish at first — but she’s carried by a kind of “mysterious confidence and bullishness” when pressure is on. Her work is under constant pressure — deadlines and expectations weigh heavily on her, because art theft requires trying to recreate or simulate creativity rather than originate it.
   • Copy the Code: The third major Ar Co. executive — her specialty is reverse-engineering and copying game software / code, producing pirated games that copy the mechanics, system engines, and “software structure” of successful titles. She’s described as an “older-sister” type — calm, reliable, and with a strong information network. She tends to analyze and replicate systems rather than create from scratch. That said — she’s not perfect. She sometimes slips up in communication, leaking info to opponents or making mistakes under pressure.
10. #10F-Sha

    Keys: F-Sha

    • F-Sha is a wandering human “maker” in the world of Game Maker R:Evolution. She serves as the president of “F Shaftware” — a software maker/organization distinct from the main studios like “Victory.”
    • Her motivation in the story is somewhat mysterious: she’s traveling across Gamindustri searching for a strange “curse.” She considers the group of “Failure Goddesses” not as allies but as enemies.
    • F-Sha is described as taciturn, expressionless, and mysterious. She rarely speaks more than necessary — minimal words, minimal emotion. She gives off a stoic vibe: calm under pressure, almost like a lone wanderer or a black-knight archetype rather than a flashy “maker” or business-type NPC. Because of this silence and mystery, she stands out as “other”: not clearly aligned with the studios vying for market share, not obviously a villain in the same way as the piracy syndicate — more of a wildcard character.
    • Physically, F-Sha has gray-brown hair tied in a long ponytail, red eyes, and a distinctive gray tattoo under her right cheek/eye — a small mark that contributes to her mysterious “wanderer” aura. Her outfit mixes medieval / dark-knight / gothic armor-style elements with a color scheme of gold and purple. She wears armor pieces, thigh-high boots, gloves, and a headpiece — giving her a warrior-knight aesthetic rather than a typical “maker CEO” look. Her “weapon” is listed as a broadsword. The overall design — the armor, the somber color palette, the red eyes and facial mark — suggests a deliberate homage to darker, more “serious” game-maker / game-world archetypes (some fans note inspiration from darker video game themes) rather than the bright “studio girl” vibes most characters have.
