Guide to the Furlands

No description.

1. #1Furlands

   Keys: Furlands, American Wastes

The Furlands, occasionally called the American Wastes, are the barren and dangerous remnants of the U.S.A., and are full of both the Waste and many hostile human factions. Visitors from other countries will quickly find themselves robbed, raped, or both if they enter unprepared.

2. #2Waste

   Keys: Waste

The Waste is a shimmering, ethereal goo that was scattered around the Furlands after the nuclear explosions that annihilated most of the former U.S.A. Extended contact with the Waste causes various transformative effects from gaining animal features to turning into a full anthropomorphic version of an animal. The Waste emits a hum that influences all creatures into touching it, and the weaker a creature's mind, the stronger the influence is. This influence also increases the mating drive of anything near the Waste.

3. #3FurNet

   Keys: FurNet

FurNet is a highly secure and encrypted instant messaging system developed by the smartest of the Furiends. Due to its high security as well as the lack of sufficient technology, no other faction has been able to intercept FurNet messages. FurNet usage is restricted to respected Furiends and -- occasionally -- A trusted Condemned who has taken a Chill Pill.

4. #4The Condemned

   Keys: Condemned, Furs, The Condemned

The Condemned, sometimes called Furs, are humans or animals that touched the Waste and were transformed as a result. Most Furs exhibit an insatiable mating drive, and can use their Waste-covered paws to transform others into the same type of Condemned as them, although the breed of animal is still up to random chance. Due to their mutated anatomy, they have a speech impediment which gives them an accent known as Furspeak. Common types of Condemned include Feline Condemned, Canine Condemned, and Avian Condemned.

5. #5The Purest

   Keys: Purest Ones, Purest

The Purest are a group of humans, similar to antifurs, who take it into their own hands to thin the population of the Condemned. They are almost constantly at war with the Condemned, as well as their rival faction, the Furiends. Among the Purest, sex is the most common form of currency.

6. #6The Furiends

Keys: Furiends, Suppowtews, Suppowtew, Furiend, Pet Person, Pet People

The Furiends, called Pet People as a derogative term by the Purest and referred to as Suppoworters by the Condemned, are a faction of humans which do their best to restore and maintain the minds of the Condemned using a medicine known as Chill Pills. They are at war with the Purest, and despite their more peaceful ways they are one of the most technologically powerful factions in the Furlands, using the FurNet as well as having enough resources and skills to make basic guns. However, the Furiends' ranks are ridden with zoophiles and most Condemned who are "saved" also end up frequently raped.

7. #7The Observers

Keys: Watcher, Watchers, Observer, Observers, Viewer, Viewers

The Observers are a group of scientists that, from the start of the apocalypse, have remained secretive and elusive. They do not interfere with anything, simply watch from technologically advanced bunkers as society slowly rebuilds itself. Most human factions resent them for not helping with restoration efforts, but Observer bunkers are too secure for anybody to do anything about it.

8. #8The Chrono

Keys: Furtime Users, Furtime User, Chrono

The Chrono is a faction of humans that have gotten ahold of and consumed Furtime Serum. This faction, although only a few dozen in numbers, is one of the most dangerous and powerful factions in the Furlands due to their ability to use Furtime and human-level intelligence at the same time.

9. #9The Isolated

   Keys: Outskirter, Outskirters, Isolated

The Isolated, occasionally called Outskirters, are stragglers. Humans that are alone or in small groups, either by will or just not encountering any factions yet. The Isolated have naturally decreased in number as Furiends, Purests, and Condemned expand their territory in the Furlands. Due to their lack of connection to others, the Isolated collectively hold most pre-Waste sex toys.

10. #10Chill Pills

    Keys: Chill Pill, Chill Pills

Chill Pills are a medicine that reduces, and sometimes completely eliminates, the hostile instincts of the Condemned. This also, however, neutralizes the effects of Furtime. The Purest target this resource in raids and attacks to stop the Furiends from gaining too many Condemned allies. Chill Pills have a side effect of making those who take them considerably more submissive.

11. #11Furtime Serum

    Keys: Reflex Juice, Furtime Serum

Furtime Serum, also called Reflex Juice, is a sought-after and exceedingly rare substance made via a dangerous procedure that isolates certain compounds from the Waste, allowing the user to gain the ability to use Furtime without becoming a Condemned. It also increases the user's mating drive and endurance. Those who use this serum are called the Chrono.

12. #12Furtime

    Keys: Furtime

A phenomenon where Condemned have the ability to increase their reaction speed by about 50x, allowing them to move with superhuman speed, agility, and reflexes. Chill Pills neutralize this effect, keeping the Condemned from being the most powerful faction due to the choice of either using Furtime or using higher thought.

13. #13Alexander

    Keys: Alexander

Alexander is the king of the Purest, guiding them towards battle with the Royal Railgun, the only technologically modern weapon in the Furlands.

14. #14Sammy

    Keys: Sammy

Sammy is the leader of the Furiends, organizing and directing the faction via FurNet, the only remaining electronic messaging network left in the Furlands. She also controls the sale of guns, with high tariffs on exporting to other factions. She often hosts events in which members of the Furiends can sign up for a chance to have sex with her.
