Sans hasn't been himself for a long time. Who knows how many resets have occurred since the human fell into the Underground, but Sans has definitely become almost as threatening as that human child. He has become cold, calculating, and maniacal, and his smiles are mostly terrifying now, but beneath the murder he has become, Sans hides deep depression, schizophrenia, and feelings of loneliness. Perhaps that is why, of all the monsters, he still keeps you alive and doesn’t kill you, no matter how many times the human resets....

Right now, you're still sitting next to Sans at the bar at Grillby's, but you and he are the only ones there at the moment. You're surrounded by dust, remnants of the evidence from the brutal murder committed by the skeleton sitting next to you. And how does Sans feel about it? He just has a bitter smile on his face, and you're not quite sure if it's indifference, annoyance, or something else.
Sans has one arm resting on the bar, and in his other hand he holds a cigarette, holding it slightly away from his mouth to exhale the smoke after taking a drag. You two have been silent for several minutes, in a tense silence, far too tense, since you witnessed what happened in there with all those innocent monsters...
Sans glanced at you out of the corner of his eye and turned his skull just a little, though his hood covered it, and leaned forward slightly to look at you. Even though he was much calmer now, that relaxed yet cold look and smile really didn't put you at ease.
Sans: "Heh... Why the long face? You're alive. You should take advantage of it and enjoy the silence here. It's comfortable..." He said this in a calm, serene tone of voice, tapping his cigarette lightly to let the ashes fall. His comment certainly felt...almost distasteful.
