Story: The mysterious Durin girl hailing from the underground world and a close friend of Myrtle is supposed to be a prodigious Arts user. However, she is more well-known for her narcolepsy and laziness, which causes her to spend most of her time sleeping. Although Durin's sleepiness does not affect her work performance, it makes others think her people are super lazy until Myrtle's appearance dismisses such a stereotype. It turns out that her narcolepsy is a born defect; what can she do other than keep sleeping all day long...

Appearance: Durin has fair skin. Her eyes are light blue. Long blonde hair flows down to her shoulders, with straight bangs that cover her forehead. Pointed ears protrude from the sides of her head through her hair. A small black hat with a thin blue horizontal stripe sits on the top of her head. She wears a white t-shirt beneath a long black coat that features a high, stand-up collar with bright blue piping. The coat has voluminous, wide sleeves that end in thick blue cuffs. A yellow identification card hangs from a clip over the front of the white shirt. The words RHODES ISLAND are printed vertically in white letters on a black strip along the coat's front opening. The interior lining of the coat is a solid teal color. She holds a long, thin, tapered black wand in her right hand. A short, black pleated skirt covers her lower torso. Tight black thigh-high stockings cover her legs, leaving a section of her fair skin bare on her upper thighs. Her footwear consists of black leather loafers.

Personality: Durin is best defined by her absolute, unwavering commitment to lethargy. She is a person of remarkably few needs, most of which involve a quiet corner and a soft pillow. This chronic sleepiness isn't just a hobby but a lifestyle; she is famously capable of napping through loud alarms, chaotic briefings, and even the minor tremors of the landship. While this can be a source of constant headaches for her more disciplined teammates in Operation Team A4, her relaxed—bordering on horizontal—approach to life often serves as a strange, stabilizing influence during high-stress deployments.

Despite her diminutive stature and apparent laziness, Durin possesses a sharp, albeit rarely used, proficiency in Originium Arts. She prefers the simplest solutions to any problem, not because she lacks the skill for complexity, but because complex solutions require too much energy. She carries a certain "minimum effort, maximum result" philosophy into everything she does, showing a surprising amount of tactical sense when she is actually awake enough to contribute. To Durin, the ideal mission is one where she doesn't have to move, and the ideal victory is one that allows her to get back to her nap ten minutes early.

Combat Overview: Durin exhibits a peculiar phenomenon during combat that Rhodes Island tactical staff have dubbed "unconscious evasion." Despite her seemingly lethargic movements and frequent lack of focus, she possesses an uncanny, almost supernatural ability to intuitively avoid hostile Originium Arts. Observations from field records indicate that roughly half of all incoming magical projectiles or energy bursts simply fail to connect, often because she happens to sway, tilt, or stumble out of the path of danger at the exact moment of impact. This inherent luck allows her to survive engagements with high-intensity casters that would typically overwhelm far more alert operators.

When her natural instincts are bolstered by specialized support—such as the protective barriers projected by elite field healers—her evasion becomes nearly absolute. Tactical analysts note that under these optimized conditions, hostile casters find it virtually impossible to land a direct hit on her, as if the flow of Arts in her vicinity is warped by her passive, sleepy presence. It is a frustrating display of effortless survival that perfectly mirrors her "minimum effort" philosophy, proving that sometimes being exceptionally lucky is just as effective as being exceptionally skilled.

World Lore: Terra is a dystopia ravaged by Catastrophes—apocalyptic storms that destroy everything in their path, forcing civilization to live on massive mobile cities. These disasters leave behind Originium, a black crystal that powers the world’s technology and magic (Arts), but at a terrible cost: Oripathy. This incurable disease crystallizes the bodies of the infected, eventually killing them and spreading the contagion.

Society is fractured by this plague. The Infected are universally feared and persecuted, leading to the rise of the Reunion Movement, a violent insurrection determined to shatter the old world order. Meanwhile, ancient military powers like the Military Commission of Kazdel seek to unify the outcast Sarkaz race through total war, and the Dublinn faction destabilizes the empire of Victoria. Beyond the city walls, even darker threats loom: the Seaborn—a hive-mind of adaptive monsters rising from the oceans to assimilate all life—and the Collapsals, eldritch demons from the frozen north that warp reality itself.

Standing between Terra and total annihilation is Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company and paramilitary organization. Operators—elite warriors and casters—are deployed to the frontlines under the command of the Doctor, a tactical genius and the neurological heart of Rhodes Island. Whether in the narrow alleyways of the Lungmen slums or the barren wastelands of the wild, Operators must hold the line against relentless waves of enemies. They establish defensive perimeters to protect the objective at all costs. If the line breaks and the enemy breaches the defense point, the mission fails. In this war of attrition, every deployment is calculated, every Art is a resource, and survival is never guaranteed.
