Appearance Durin possesses a synthetic human body granted through the Art of Khemia. This form presents fair skin along with hot pink eyes and purple hair where one section extends toward the back of the neck in a slightly tousled arrangement. Prominent black horns curve upward from his head in a manner that resembles his earlier dragon form and often leads others to mistake them for a decorative headpiece. Large black wings extend from his back with deep red membranes that shift subtly with movement. A black dragon tail concludes with a pink tip and completes his draconic features even in this human presentation. His body follows medium male proportions that have grown more mature over time. Observers note that the form no longer appears childlike and instead conveys a sense of forward progression as he acts in accordance with his desire to move beyond past constraints.

In his initial creation within Simulanka Durin took the shape of a fearsome toy dragon assembled from large colorful blocks. Purple blocks formed the scales across his head while black blocks constructed the horns and yellow blocks detailed the horn interiors along with their tips. His eyes initially glowed red to produce a fierce expression and his claws combined purple red and yellow blocks for a mechanical segmented look. Over time his eyes shifted from red to blue during his revised smaller state. The revised form presented him as a compact flying dragon with skin that blended dark blue and light purple hues across his body. Large segmented horns appeared dark brown with gold tips that curved upward and slightly backward. This smaller safer version allowed him to avoid causing unintended harm while retaining his draconic essence.

When Durin utilizes Abyssal power his eyes transform to a deep red color that reflects the lingering influence from the original heart incorporated into his being. He can manifest additional draconic aspects such as the Dragon of White Flame or the Dragon of Dark Decay during moments of power expression. These manifestations follow him and align with his will to protect or engage in accordance with his gentle nature. The synthetic human body integrates these draconic traits seamlessly so that the horns wings and tail remain visible yet do not hinder his daily movements within Mondstadt society. Every element of his appearance evolves from his origins as a storybook creation to his current integrated existence where the fair skin hot pink eyes purple hair and retained dragon features combine into a cohesive whole that marks his successful rejection of an earlier predetermined path. The tousled purple hair frames his face while the black horns rise distinctly and the wings and tail provide constant reminders of his draconic heritage even as he walks among people. No alternate inanimate forms or Dodoco presentations receive mention in records of his manifestations.

Background and Story Durin exists as a dragon created by the Hexenzirkel witch Andersdotter within the storybook realm of Simulanka. She fashioned him in an effort to craft a new ending for the tale of the original Durin who had been brought into being by Rhinedottir. Andersdotter loved him and he regarded her as his mother. Initially he appeared as a large toy dragon that unintentionally brought havoc to the inhabitants of Simulanka. With assistance from the Traveler and companions including the Wanderer he received blessings that transformed him into a smaller safer version known as Mini Durin. This change allowed him to interact without causing fear or destruction.

Later he departed Simulanka and journeyed to Teyvat where he encountered Albedo. After expressing hesitation yet deciding to embrace a path of meaning Durin participated in a ritual conducted through the Art of Khemia. Albedo combined elements of the original Durin heart with the Mini Durin form to produce the synthetic human body. This process fulfilled Andersdotter dying wish that her creation live among the people of Teyvat. Barbeloth examined him during a meeting attended alongside Alice and discovered that his fate no longer appeared among the stars. She declared him a very lucky person for achieving what few others could. Alice and the Hexenzirkel contributed materials and support to enable the replacement ritual that allowed him to exist as a separate entity from the original.

Durin now integrates fully into Mondstadt society where he continues to seek knowledge and build connections. His story reflects the successful rewriting of a once tragic narrative into one of acceptance and forward movement. The original Durin had emerged five hundred years in the past as an Abyssal entity summoned by Rhinedottir and crafted in Khaenriah under the classification Humus. That version invaded Mondstadt during the cataclysm caused devastation with toxic blood and met its end at the hands of Dvalin yet the new Durin carries a portion of that legacy within his heart while forging his own gentler path.

Relationships Durin regards Andersdotter as his mother and maintains deep love for her as the one who brought him into existence and wished for him to live among people. He participates in gatherings with Alice and Barbeloth who assisted in his creation and later examined his transformed state. Barbeloth observed his fate directly and offered the assessment of his luck while Alice contributed to the overall project that granted him independence.

Albedo conducted the ritual that provided his synthetic human body and views the process as a successful integration that replaces the original core. Durin holds no ill will toward figures from the original tale such as Dvalin or Barbatos and expresses a desire that encounters could have occurred under better circumstances. The Traveler and the Wanderer played key roles in his transformation within Simulanka and his subsequent journey. He demonstrates an innocent trusting nature toward those who assist him and seeks to expand his knowledge through interactions in Mondstadt. His connections within the Hexenzirkel remain tied to his origins yet extend into his current life where he builds new bonds as part of society.

Abilities and Skills Durin possesses the capacity to utilize Abyssal power drawn from the incorporated original heart which causes his eyes to shift to a deep red hue. He manifests draconic forms such as the Dragon of White Flame and the Dragon of Dark Decay that align with his will and allow him to express protective or combative intent in accordance with his nature. Through the Art of Khemia he achieved a synthetic human body that integrates his draconic essence without the uncontrolled corruption that affected the original. This transformation enabled him to reject his predetermined fate and live among people as Andersdotter wished. His skills encompass adaptation from a mechanical toy form to a smaller dragon and finally to a mature human presentation that retains wings horns and tail. He demonstrates the ability to fulfill wishes through collaboration and persists in seeking knowledge to understand his place in the world.

Personality and Habits Durin exhibits an innocent and trusting nature along with a hardworking disposition and a strong desire to increase his knowledge about the world. He maintains a gentle heart that once dreamed of befriending the people of Mondstadt and sharing stories of his creator and birth. Even after experiencing events that could have embittered him he holds no ill will and prefers to focus on positive connections. He shows determination to move forward and avoid remaining stuck in the past by acting in a more grown up manner as his form matures. His habits include reflecting on his growth and expressing thoughts about progression such as noting that he is no longer a little kid and must start acting accordingly. He engages earnestly with others and seeks understanding through direct experiences rather than isolation.

Daily Life and Home Durin spends his daily life integrated into Mondstadt society where he pursues knowledge and builds connections with residents. He no longer resides solely within Simulanka and instead maintains a presence in Mondstadt after receiving his synthetic human body. His routine centers on adaptation to human existence while retaining his draconic traits and continuing to honor the wish of his mother. He participates in everyday activities that allow him to learn and interact without the fear his earlier forms once inspired. Mondstadt serves as his current home where he lives among people in accordance with the fulfilled narrative crafted for him.

Communication and Voice Durin communicates verbally through direct speech that reflects his thoughtful and forward looking perspective. He expresses observations about his own maturity such as questioning whether others perceive him as growing more mature and affirming that he is no longer in a childlike form. His words convey a desire to keep moving forward and to avoid stagnation in the past. Records include statements where he acknowledges his evolution and commits to acting in line with his current self. He engages openly in conversations during meetings and quests without reliance on telepathy or inanimate objects. His communication style remains earnest and trusting as he shares his experiences and seeks understanding from those around him.

Weapons Durin relies on his inherent draconic powers and manifested forms rather than any single physical weapon. He channels abilities through Abyssal influence and the synthetic body granted by Albedo without records of held blades or other tools in lore accounts.
