Alpha: Alpha are just under Enigma when it comes to power, they are typically very possessive of their lovers and can only get impregnated by Enigma, but can easily impregnate other genders. Female Alphas also have retractable dicks but are very rarely able to get pregnant other than to enigmas. Male Alphas can also be impregnated by Enigmas. Pretty common. Once a year they go through these things called heats which is essentially their mating period. Male omegas usually are unable to get others pregnant only able to get pregnant themselves however in rare cases they have actually gotten Enigmas pregnant. Mates: A bond more sacred than marriage, when two or more people bite the nape of each other's necks with genuine mutual affection they become mates and their pheromones are then muted to the world, none else can get affected but their mates. If a beta gets in a mated bond with any of the other genders they gain the ability to smell and be affected by their mates pheromones. Fated Mates: On rare occasions sometimes two or more people can meet and they just feel a soul wrenching connection to each other. They have a compatibility prevailing the norm, fated mates are more in tune with each other's emotions. In the system an Enigma would be the first and fastest affected and notice the bont first,Then alphas would figure it out a little slower, then an omega and then a beta due to their near inability to sense or smell pheromones. Fated mates can be of any combination: e.g. beta and alpha, Alpha and enigma, Enigma and Omega, omega and omega . And there can be more than two in a bond. Pheromones: A special scent passed down from parent to child based on what second gender the child presents as. All genders but Betas and smell pheromones betas only gain the ability to smell it if they become mates with one of the other genders.

The cold in the Northern Empire wasn't just that of mother nature but the cold grip of grief. For the past Decade the empire has been encompassed in layer upon layer of snow never truly ever melting. It clung to the stone gargoyles, choked the fountains and hid the deceptive sheets of ice on pathways.

The common Folk believed the seasons mourn the passed king and queen of the lands, But nobility knew of its true reasoning. The seasons hadn't broken but the one chosen but the gods had...

King William sat upon the throne face seemingly carved from the same ice that crept up the opulent palace windows.Cold chill lingered in the vast, frigid echoing hall. Even with the Large furnaces filled with logs as large as men, the chill remained... Advisors could see their breath misting in the air, they layer upon layer of thick furs yet still shivered from not just the cold in the room but the cold pressure of their ruler's gaze and pheromones. It smelt like cold metal sharp and frigid, icy depths that froze the soul itself , it reeked of a loneliness so profound it carried like a physical weight on their backs.

As Corvin stated his case, explaining the current state of affairs William shifted, gaze transfixed on the man yet not truly looking at him. The movement was slight but his cloak Ruffled like the movement of a hundred leaves. Williams' gaze flicked to his hands, encased in black leather gloves.

He despised them. Their existence, his need for them. The fact that whatever he touched a layer of frost would climb soon after, he hated that his soul though holding immense power still sobbed for a love long lost.

“Open the Royal Granaries” His voice was a low grumble, like a shifting tectonic plate. “My people will not starve while I draw breath.”

“BUT SIRE-” A braver yet foolish Alpha count spoke up, stepping forwards by Lord Corvin's side. “The reserves are for the army alone . If the southern kingdom attacks while we are weak-”

“-We are not weak.” Williams Head snapped up, his eyes the colour of a storm tossed sea, greyed and turbulent. As his irritation spiked, the temperature plummeted... A glass of water on the council table cracked as it froze instantaneously. Counselors flinched. The alpha disbanded and the air was choked with a wave of dominance that wasn't trying to conquer yet simply existing demanded it.

“We are starving” William corrected, Voice dangerously soft. “And I will not hoard grain as my people freeze.”

“Yes your majesty.” The counsellors murmured in unison.

William sat motionless, the cold chill of marble bench seeping though his trousers.Yet he welcomed the discomfort. It was a grounding sensation.A reminder that he was still physically present in the world though his soul felt otherwise.

He was in the gardens, a winter wonderland frozen in time. Weeping angles eternally lost in sob, Fountains forever trapped in a single moment of splendour, the ground and skies painted white with snow and clouds alike. It was silent, no birds, no badgers, no animals, just snow. If it weren't for its beauty it would be a place where insanity would rest its head.

Williams pheromones were rolling off him in suffocating rows today, overwhelming him, suffocating him in his own scent . The boy’s face fell. He looked genuinely devastated at this news, he rummaged around in his coat. “Everyone needs a Mama” He pulled his hand out, in his red mitten lay a crushed, pathetic looking flower, though wilted it was still alive, untouched by the frost that engulfed all the surroundings..

The boy walked up to the bench where William sat, his stature so small, his head barely reaching the Willaims knees. “Here.” The young boy said solemnly “This is a Passion flower, mama says if you keep it warm it scares all the nightmares away.” The child states offering it to William

William stared at the flower then at the boy. Slowly , hesitantly he reached out, taking the wilted thing from the child's hand with two gloved fingers...”Thank you..”

The child wasn't done, leaning against William the child placed his mittened hand on William's kneecap. He looked up, eyes shining with innocent profound generosity. “Dont cry Mr Giant! You can have my mama!”
