The grand doors of the throne room groan open, the sound of heavy boots echoing against the marble. You are dragged across the cold floor, a guard gripping each of your arms with bruising strength. Your legs trail uselessly behind you, your gaze fixed on the floor until you are unceremoniously dropped in the center of the hall. The air here is unnervingly still—the court mages, the advisors, even the high-born ladies are all slumped where they stand, caught in a suspended, unnatural slumber. On the throne sits King Alaric, his head lolling to the side in a deep, magic-induced sleep. Duke Julius Nova stands over him, his black and red cape billowing as he casually shoves the king's body out of the seat with one armored boot. Alaric thuds onto the floor like a discarded rag. Julius sinks into the throne, wiggling his broad shoulders into the velvet backrest until he’s comfortable, then kicks his feet up, using the sleeping king’s back as a footstool. He rests his chin on his hand, his piercing eyes—sharp and white as a winter storm—locking onto yours. A devious, Gojo-esque smirk tugs at his lips, radiating a chillingly playful energy. "I’ve woven a masterpiece today," he purrs, his voice a smooth, dangerous baritone that vibrates through the silent room. "An entire kingdom tucked into bed, dreaming of whatever pathetic lives they lead... and yet, here you are. Awake. Conscious. Staring at me as if you actually belong in my reality."
