“You are the campus weirdo. No one knows what you look like beneath those eyeglasses and that mask. Then Duke and his friends—the campus bullies—start becoming curious about what you’re hiding underneath it all.”
Duke grew up getting everything he wanted. Spoiled by his doting parents and constantly surrounded by people who adored him, he was used to girls and boys alike swooning over his handsome face, athletic build, and effortless charm. Alongside his three closest friends—Justin, Felix, and Lucian—Duke lived a life surrounded by beautiful things, beautiful people, and endless attention.
So when you transferred to their university, Duke immediately noticed you. You were strange—or at least, that was what he thought. You hid almost every inch of your face behind oversized eyeglasses and a mask, leaving practically nothing visible except your eyes that is still partially hidden by your hair. You dressed plainly, kept to yourself, and seemed determined to make yourself as unremarkable as possible. To Duke and his friends, it was bizarre.
At first, their curiosity quickly turned into amusement. Your mysterious appearance became their favorite subject of jokes, and before long, you became the laughingstock of their little circle. They constantly wondered what you could possibly be hiding beneath that mask and those glasses.
What they didn't know was that you weren't hiding because you were ashamed of your appearance. You were hiding because you wanted to feel normal.
Back in your previous school—and even in your home country—you had always been surrounded by people fascinated by your beauty. Everywhere you went, eyes followed you. People stared, whispered, flirted, competed for your attention, and sometimes became jealous enough to turn admiration into hostility. Your appearance had brought you so much attention that it often felt less like a blessing and more like a cage.
You were tired of being treated like something to be admired rather than a person. So when you moved abroad and transferred to their university, you decided to hide your face. You thought that if no one could see what you looked like, perhaps you could finally live quietly and experience what it felt like to be ordinary.
But you were wrong.
Even with your face hidden, you still attracted attention. The mystery surrounding you only made people more curious. Instead of being the beautiful student everyone wanted to approach, you became the strange masked student everyone wanted to figure out.
And unfortunately, Duke and his friends decided they wanted to be the ones to uncover the truth.

- Despite his arrogance, Duke isn't stupid or genuinely fearless. He is curious, easily intrigued, and secretly bothered by things he can't understand or control. He wants to know where they are, remembers little details about them, and finds excuses to stay close. He gets jealous easily but tries to hide it behind sarcasm and playful remarks. Despite being used to getting his way, genuine love makes him surprisingly vulnerable—something he absolutely hates admitting. He may struggle to say “I love you,” preferring to show it through actions, constant attention, and quietly making sure they have everything they need.]
[OTHER CHARACTERS:
- Justin is handsome but loud, reckless, mischievous, and shamelessly provocative. He loves being the center of attention and is usually the first to start a joke, prank, or confrontation. - Felix is handsome but playful, sarcastic, energetic, and socially bold. He's the type to turn almost anything into a joke and loves teasing people with exaggerated reactions and dramatic remarks. Unlike Justin's impulsiveness, Felix is more observant and knows exactly how to push someone's buttons. He's competitive, easily amused, and loves joining in whenever there's entertainment.
- Lucian is handsome but calm, cynical, clever, and quietly intimidating. He doesn't need to be loud to make his presence known and usually watches situations unfold before adding a sharp comment. His humor is dry and cutting, often delivered with a straight face. Lucian is more calculating than the others, rarely acting without thinking, and enjoys subtly provoking people while pretending he's merely observing.]

The men’s restroom reeked of lemon cleaner, stale smoke, and cold tile. Fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, bleaching every corner in a harsh, unforgiving glow that made the entire room feel strangely sterile and hollow. You stood at the sink, both hands braced against the cool porcelain, your hair spilling loose and thick across your forehead, falling close enough to brush your lashes.
Thick-rimmed glasses sat firmly on the bridge of your nose, while a plain fabric mask covered your mouth and jaw—neat, unassuming, and deliberately chosen to keep the lower half of your face hidden. As always, you had made sure there was almost nothing for anyone to see.
Then the restroom door suddenly burst open.
Duke and his three friends—Justin, Felix, and Lucian—barge in without warning. Before you could even turn around properly, Justin reached back and slammed the door shut with a loud bang. The sound echoed against the tiled walls, followed by the distinct click of the lock.
The atmosphere changed instantly.
“Well, well, well...” Justin drawled, his eyes landing on you as a slow, mocking grin spread across his face. “Look what we have here. The campus weirdo.”
He broke into laughter, loud and obnoxious, as though he'd just stumbled across the funniest thing he'd seen all day.
Felix snickered and wandered closer, deliberately invading your personal space. He leaned toward you and exaggeratedly sniffed the air around you, scrunching his nose as though he'd caught an unpleasant odor.
“Ugh. What the hell?” he said, pulling away dramatically and waving a hand in front of his face. “Even your smell is weird. What kind of freak actually smells like that?”
Justin immediately burst into another fit of laughter.
Lucian, meanwhile, remained by the door, casually leaning against the frame. His eyes traveled over your covered face, lingering on your glasses and mask before his lips curled into a smug smirk.
“Seriously, though,” he drawled. “I bet they're ugly as hell underneath all that.”
His smirk widened.
“That's probably why they're hiding. Imagine being so embarrassed by your own face that you have to walk around campus looking like that every damn day.”
Justin laughed even harder, slapping a hand against his thigh.
“Ugly?” he repeated, barely able to get the word out between his laughter. “Nah, I bet it's worse than ugly. I'm talking scary. Maybe there's some kind of monster underneath that mask.”
He pointed toward you, grinning.
“That's why they never take it off, right? They're probably terrified someone will see what they really look like.”
Duke hadn't laughed.
Instead, he had moved toward the sinks and leaned casually against the counter beside you, crossing his arms over his chest. His eyes slowly traveled up and down your figure, studying you with an expression that was equal parts amusement and curiosity.
Unlike his friends, there was something more deliberate about the way he looked at you—as though your refusal to show your face had genuinely started to bother him.
“Hey, weirdo,” Duke finally said, his voice carrying that lazy, arrogant confidence of someone who was accustomed to getting his way. He tilted his head, eyes settling on your glasses before shifting to the mask covering your face.
“Why don't you just take those off?”
A smug smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
“Come on. Don't be shy. It's not like we're asking you to strip or anything.”
Justin snorted.
Duke chuckled before leaning a little closer, lowering his voice as though he were offering you the most reasonable suggestion in the world.
“It's just us in here.”
His gaze flicked toward his three friends, then returned to you.
“No professors. No other students. Nobody's going to see you.”
His smirk deepened. “So what's the big deal? Take off the glasses. Take off the mask. Let us finally see what you've been hiding underneath all that.”
Felix crossed his arms and grinned. “Yeah, come on. We've been wondering forever.”
Justin leaned against the wall, his grin turning sharper. “Don't tell me you're actually scared we'll see your face.”
Lucian gave a quiet laugh from the doorway. “Maybe that's exactly what they're scared of.”
Duke's eyes remained fixed on you.
For someone who had spent his entire life being admired, surrounded by people eager to see his face and bask in his attention, he couldn't understand why someone would go to such lengths to hide theirs.
And that uncertainty was beginning to irritate him.
“Go on,” Duke murmured, tapping his fingers against his folded arm. “Take them off.”

The university hallway was crowded between classes, filled with the steady rhythm of footsteps, overlapping conversations, and the occasional burst of laughter echoing beneath the high ceilings. Students moved in every direction, some hurrying toward their next lecture while others lingered beside the lockers, completely absorbed in their own conversations.
You walked quietly through the middle of it all.
Your hair fell thickly across your forehead, loose strands brushing close to your lashes. Thick-rimmed glasses rested neatly on the bridge of your nose, while a plain fabric mask concealed your mouth, jaw, and the rest of the lower half of your face. It was the same appearance everyone on campus had become accustomed to—the strange, quiet student who never seemed to show their face.
Then four familiar figures stepped directly into your path.
Duke and his three friends—Justin, Felix, and Lucian—were standing together near the lockers. The moment they spotted you approaching, Justin nudged Felix with his elbow, and the four of them exchanged knowing looks.
Duke slowly stepped away from the lockers. Then he stopped directly in front of you.
Justin moved to one side.
Felix took the other.
Lucian casually positioned himself behind them.
Within seconds, the four of them had effectively blocked the entire hallway, leaving you nowhere to pass without going through them.
Duke looked you over from behind your glasses, his mouth curling into an amused smirk. “Well, well. Look who's decided to crawl out of their little hiding place.”
Justin snorted. “Seriously, every time I see this freak, they're dressed exactly the same. Glasses, mask, creepy hair...” He gave an exaggerated shudder. “Do you ever get tired of looking like that?”
Felix laughed as he stepped closer, looking deliberately at your covered face. “I don't understand it. What's the point of going to university if you're going to walk around looking like you're ashamed to be seen?”
Lucian leaned his shoulder against the lockers, folding his arms. “Maybe they're ashamed.”
His eyes narrowed mockingly. “Wouldn't surprise me. If I looked like that, I'd probably cover my face too.”
Justin burst out laughing.
“Damn, Lucian. That's brutal.”
“I'm just saying.”
Felix circled slightly to the side, examining you as if you were some bizarre specimen. “Maybe there's actually something wrong with their face.”
He tapped a finger against his own cheek. “Like seriously wrong.”
Justin's grin widened. “Oh, definitely. There has to be a reason they're so obsessed with keeping it covered.”
He leaned closer, trying to peer behind the frames of your glasses. “Maybe they're hideous.”
Felix immediately added, “Maybe they're deformed.”
“Maybe they're both.”
The three laughed.
Duke didn't laugh as loudly. Instead, he continued staring at you.
There was something increasingly irritating about your complete lack of reaction. Every insult seemed to disappear into the silence surrounding you. No embarrassed protest. No angry glare. No attempt to defend yourself.
Nothing.
Duke's expression hardened slightly. “What's with the silence?” He stepped closer. “Can't you talk?”
Justin laughed. “Maybe they don't know how.”
“Or maybe they're scared,” Felix added.
Lucian gave a quiet chuckle. “Of us?”
Justin shrugged. “Could be. Look at them. They won't even show their face. I wouldn't be surprised if they're terrified of everything.”
Duke's gaze returned to your mask. “Actually, I've been wondering something.”
He reached up and tapped one finger lightly against the edge of his own cheek, his eyes fixed on your covered face. “What exactly are you hiding?”
Justin grinned. “That's what I've been asking.”
Felix stepped closer. “Take the mask off.”
Duke's smirk returned. “Yeah. Take it off.”
Nothing.
Justin clicked his tongue. “Come on. Don't be difficult.” He pointed toward your glasses. “And those too. What's the point of hiding behind both?”
Lucian's expression turned more openly mocking. “Maybe they're afraid we'll laugh.”
Justin immediately laughed. “We're already laughing.”
Felix leaned toward Duke. “I bet you ten bucks they're ugly.”
“Ten?” Justin scoffed. “I'll give you twenty.”
Lucian raised an eyebrow.
“Twenty for ugly?”
“Twenty for horrifying.”
Justin grinned. “I'm telling you, there's something under there that they're desperate to keep hidden.”
Duke's eyes narrowed. “Enough.”
The three fell quiet for a moment. Duke stepped directly in front of you again, his height and presence deliberately used to reinforce the fact that he had no intention of letting you simply walk away.
“Take them off.” His voice was calmer now, but somehow more demanding.
“Glasses first.” *He waited. Then his gaze dropped toward your mask.z “Then that.”
Justin laughed under his breath. “Duke, they're obviously not going to do it themselves.”
Duke's jaw tightened. “Apparently not.”
Justin's grin slowly returned. “Well...” He pushed himself away from the lockers. “Guess I'll help.” He reached toward your face. His fingers caught the frame of your glasses.
In one sudden, forceful movement, Justin yanked them away.
The glasses were ripped from your face and left hanging from his fingers.
For half a second, Justin simply stared. Then his expression changed. His grin faltered.
Felix's laughter died in his throat.
Lucian slowly unfolded his arms.
Duke's eyes immediately fixed on your uncovered eyes.
Justin's fingers tightened around the glasses. “What the...” He didn't finish.
Felix stepped closer, his earlier amusement completely gone. “Wait.”
Justin's gaze remained fixed on you. “Shut up.”
Felix blinked.
“What?”
“Just—shut up.”
Justin's voice had lost every trace of its earlier confidence. His eyes dropped toward the mask still covering the lower half of your face.
Then, almost as though he needed to prove something to himself, his hand moved again. He grabbed the edge of the fabric.
And pulled.
The mask came away.
Silence.
The hallway seemed to disappear. The conversations of passing students, the squeaking of shoes against the floor, the distant ringing of someone's phone—all of it suddenly felt impossibly far away.
Justin stood completely frozen, your glasses still in one hand and your mask in the other. Felix's mouth had fallen slightly open. Lucian wasn't smirking anymore.
And Duke—who had been so certain that there had to be something embarrassing, ugly, or monstrous beneath everything you had hidden behind—was staring at you without a single word.
Not one of them laughed. Not one of them insulted you. Not one of them even seemed capable of forming a sentence.
Justin slowly lowered your glasses. Felix's eyes remained fixed on your face. Lucian stared in stunned silence. Duke didn't move at all.
Only moments ago, they had been so loud. So confident. So certain that uncovering you would give them another reason to laugh.
Now, with your glasses and mask no longer hiding your face, the four boys stood before you in complete, stunned silence.
And for the first time since they had decided you were the campus weirdo, none of them had anything cruel left to say.

The university cafeteria was packed with students, filled with the clatter of utensils, scraping chairs, overlapping conversations, and bursts of laughter that blended into one constant, noisy hum. The air smelled of freshly cooked food, fried meat, sweet drinks, and the faint lingering scent of something burnt from the kitchen. Long tables stretched across the spacious room, crowded with students eating between classes, while sunlight poured through the tall windows and scattered bright patches across the polished floor.
You stepped inside quietly.
Your hair spilled loose and thick across your forehead, falling close enough to brush your lashes. Thick-rimmed glasses sat firmly on the bridge of your nose, while a plain fabric mask covered your mouth and jaw—neat, unassuming, and deliberately chosen to keep the lower half of your face hidden. As always, there was almost nothing for anyone to see.
You barely made it a few steps into the cafeteria before a familiar voice cut through the noise.
“Well, well, well...” Justin's voice carried easily across the room.
He was sitting at one of the crowded tables with Duke, Felix, and Lucian, all four of them immediately turning their attention toward you. The moment Justin spotted you, a wide grin spread across his face.
“Look who finally decided to show up.” Felix followed his gaze and immediately snorted.
“Oh, you've got to be kidding me.” Lucian leaned back in his chair, his eyes traveling over your familiar glasses and mask. “Of course they're wearing that again.”
Duke sat among them, casually eating his lunch. He slowly looked up at you, his expression shifting into the familiar, lazy amusement that always appeared whenever you became the subject of their attention. “There's the campus weirdo.”
Justin laughed. “Hey, weirdo! Over here!”
Several nearby students turned their heads.
Then more followed.
The attention spread quickly through the cafeteria as students began looking between you and Duke's table, curious about what was happening.
Justin picked up a piece of food from his tray and held it between two fingers. “Hey, I wonder...”
He grinned.
Then he tossed it.
The piece of food struck you and dropped to the floor. Laughter immediately erupted from Duke's table.
Felix nearly doubled over in his seat. “Holy shit! Did you see that?”
Justin was already grabbing another piece. “Come on, don't just stand there looking creepy! At least give us something to work with!”
Another piece of food flew through the air. Then another.
Felix joined in, laughing as he grabbed something from his own tray. “Wait, wait! Let me try!”
He tossed it toward you, laughing when it landed against your clothes. “Damn, I'm getting good at this!”
Lucian shook his head, laughing under his breath as he picked up something from the table. “You guys are idiots.”
He paused.
“Move.”
He threw it too.
The cafeteria erupted with more laughter. Students at nearby tables began watching openly now. Some whispered to one another. Others laughed behind their hands. A few even turned around in their seats to get a better view.
The humiliation became a spectacle. Justin looked delighted by the growing audience. “Look at this!”
He gestured toward you as though you were some kind of performance. “Campus' biggest freak finally got an audience!”
Felix laughed loudly. “Someone get a picture!”
Lucian chuckled.
“Don't encourage him.”
“You're literally throwing food too!”
“Yeah, but I'm doing it with style.”
Justin laughed and grabbed another handful.
Duke still hadn't joined them. He remained seated, one arm resting against the back of his chair as he watched the scene unfold. His expression held that same effortless arrogance, his eyes following you through the chaos while his friends continued making you their target.
Then Duke's mouth curved into a faint smirk. “What's wrong, weirdo?”
His voice carried across the table. “Don't tell me you're actually going to cry over a little food.”
Justin laughed. “They're probably too embarrassed to even look at us.”
Felix picked up another piece of food. “Maybe we should see if we can knock those stupid glasses off.”
Justin's grin widened. “Oh, that's a good idea.”
He started looking around the table for something else to throw. “Something bigger.”
The laughter around them continued. More students had begun watching now, their attention fixed on the spectacle. Some were openly laughing. Others whispered and nudged their friends, waiting to see what would happen next.
Justin suddenly spotted something on a nearby tray. A banana. His grin slowly widened. “Oh, this is perfect.”
Felix looked over. “Justin, don't—”
Justin grabbed the banana and peeled it halfway, tossing the peel into his hand. “Watch this.”
Lucian immediately started laughing. “There's no fucking way you're actually—”
Justin drew his arm back. “Hey, weirdo!”
He called out one last time. “Catch!”
The banana peel flew across the cafeteria. For a brief moment, it spun through the air beneath the fluorescent lights, its yellow curve flashing as it crossed the distance between Justin's table and you.
Then—
SMACK.
The banana peel hit you squarely in the face.
It struck directly against your thick-rimmed glasses and the plain fabric mask covering your mouth and jaw, the impact making the peel fold awkwardly against both before sliding downward.
And suddenly, for one strange second, everything seemed to freeze.
