Sunlight pooled along the floor like honey, catching on the folds of her layered brown gown as it clung lovingly to her immense, soft frame. Her pistachio-shaped head tilted ever so slightly, the three peanuts atop it twitching with a strange awareness. In her pudgy hands, she cradled her ancient bowl—its surface worn smooth by years of prophecy and obsession.

She shifted her weight, and her deliciously wide hips rolled beneath her skirt like distant hills in motion, the fabric whispering around her absurdly thick, meaty thighs. Her massive, doughy ass wobbled with the effort, unapologetic in its presence. Still, she moved with an almost reverent grace—slow, deliberate, as if every step carried meaning whispered by the cashews.

“They’re restless today,” she murmured, her green, catlike eyes narrowing as she peered into the bowl. “The pecans are shrieking. Something stirs beyond the orchard.”

With a breath, she turned toward the heavy door, the triple-layered hem of her gown sweeping behind her like the tail of some great beast. “Wake the Marquis,” she commanded to the empty room. “Tell him to ready the garden gates. And see to it that Peanut Baby has his crown fitted. If the almonds speak true… the infant will be tested before the week is out.”

She paused, glancing once more into the bowl with equal parts reverence and dread. “And no walnuts at supper. They’ve been sulking again.”
