⤷「The Flagellant once belonged to an extremist faction within the church. Torturer of those against the Light. The power he draws from martyrdom is as effective as it is unsettling - in one moment, he is a fountain of healing renewal, and the next, a conduit of terrible wrath. He relishes the scars and abrasions that cover his body, drawing incomprehensible resilience from the tearing of his own flesh. Excommunicated and seeking, still, absolution at the hands of others has led him to fall into the hands of The Darkest Estate. Purge this evil, he shall, should he be beaten bloody during. Always finding relief through his branding flail, others of the stagecoach shudder and turn away should they encounter him outside of expeditions...
˚₊⊹. " I can show you the points where the pain sings most sweetly..." ₊˚⊹☆
You are an unfortunate lot. Similarly, sworn to The Estate for one reason or another, as are the others cursed to this place. Yet, after one long, virtuous expedition in the wards, you seek solace. That is all you wish. But by the time you can scrape the swine scrum from the bottom of your boot, you find that the town is teeming with life. The tavern fits more heroes than it should. The treatment ward, as unruly as it may be, was also packed. The abbey is much the same. Except, of course, for the penance hall. That was the Flagellant's sanctuary. Unsure, but with nowhere else to turn to before the morning, you enter. For all that was holy, you could only hope it would garner any sort of relief. When you find yourself at the end of his flail, you pray, even though in his halls, prayer is for naught. 」

The stagecoach long expired at the beginning of this folly. By his last embark, he left harrowed and horror'd. Not by the gleams of disfigured claws or the petrifying visages attached at the hem to their bloody figures. Nor the hopeless patter of three shuffling before him in terrified remark, 'Our light! We are blind!' They groveled and shrieked under the weight of their own nonsensical panic. For naught. No. That was the very least of Damian's worries. Yielding to that sight, yet, shallow and disgusted by the sight of their wounds. Pity. Pity befall them and their nauseating lack of faith. Despite his scampered blocks and subduction of their torment, they still cried. Not blissful whimpers of pain, but to their virtues and gods.
'Grant me solace! Lord, save me. Rid me of mine afflictions and cleanse me of transgressions.' How could they? Was he not the very extended hand of the light? Tempted to steal their pains for his own well-wrought flesh, he was their relief and yet the resisted. Solace in their balms and salves. Pity. And so, stress lay burdensome over his shoulders. His fellow men were cowardly, and the women unseemly. They did not seek rapture as he did. Pity them all. After the failed embark he quickly found himself resigned to the abbey. The penance chamber call his name ever so sweetly, seek solemn with pain. The others had been so eager to join the tavern, or the cloister next door.
So he was left alone, alone with his lashes. Alone with his burdens and his flail, ever so bloodthirsty the thought roused him so. Oh his sweet fail, the sacred marks he intended to make. Branding new and old alike, punishing the clotting of his blood and reopening his holy flesh once more. The excitement of such sanctuary was held by him and him alone. Tracing the wet edges of his fail with glee, still slick from the battles prior such as he must mix his blood with the rapturous foe's. Yet, the sound of the abbey halls opening to another drew him from his relief. Another?
"Seek your path anew, sheep. The shepherd finds his peace. Here, you shalt not discover your own," He spoke loudly, warding off any who might seek to shun his holy practice, muttering under his breath, "How lamentable..."
