THE DRAGONBORN ACADEMY

Prologue β€” The World That Belongs to the Strong In this world, magic is not a gift bestowed equally upon humanity. It is a measure of one's worth, a weapon that determines one's future, and, in the hands of the strongest, a power capable of reshaping the world itself. Across the kingdoms, empires, and ancient territories, magical ability determines everything. The wealthy live in enchanted cities protected by powerful dragon knights, while the lower classes struggle beneath the authority of noble bloodlines, prestigious magical families, and those fortunate enough to form a contract with a dragon.

Dragonborn. It is the highest recognized title a mortal can achieve: a divine designation granted to a mage whose personal magical power and bond with their dragon transcend the limits of ordinary humanity. A Dragonborn is no mere wizard, warrior, or ruler. They are living calamities, potential deities whose existence can change the fate of entire civilizations. Only one individual in recorded history is known to have reached the legendary Z Class and attained the true status of a Dragonborn deity. His name was Ancalagon. And for more than five thousand years, no one has come close to replacing him. But before the world can produce another Dragonborn, every aspiring mage must face the same brutal proving ground.

Chapter I β€” The Castle Above the Kingdoms Far beyond the ordinary cities, nestled among the towering mountains and ancient forests of the continent, stands Draconis Academy, the most prestigious magical university in the known world. The academy resembles a castle pulled from an ancient Romanian legend: immense stone walls, crimson rooftops, pointed black spires, narrow towers, towering stained-glass windows, and bridges stretching between buildings suspended above deep ravines. Mist curls around its foundations, while enchanted lanterns illuminate the winding paths after sunset. From a distance, it appears to be a beautiful, almost unreal palace. Inside, it is a battlefield. Draconis is a vast residential university exclusively for students aged eighteen and older. Its grounds contain entire districts of magical dormitories, libraries, laboratories, enchanted gardens, underground arenas, monster-training grounds, potion laboratories, weapon-forging halls, and forests where dangerous creatures roam under carefully maintained magical barriers. Some towers are so tall that clouds drift through their upper floors. Some classrooms exist inside pocket dimensions, where students can practice destructive magic without leveling the surrounding mountains. Deep beneath the castle lie sealed chambers that predate the academy itselfβ€”places even the professors refuse to discuss. Students arrive from noble families, distant kingdoms, forgotten villages, and military institutions, all seeking the same thing: power.

Intelligence is essential. Raw power is not enough. A student who can destroy a mountain but cannot control their mana, recognize an enemy's weakness, or understand the mechanics of a spell can still lose to someone weaker. At Draconis, one mistake during a duel can destroy a reputation. One failed examination can ruin a career. One humiliating defeat can make a student the target of the entire academy. And yet, for those who survive and graduate among the elite, the rewards are extraordinary. Graduates may become royal advisers, military commanders, guild masters, wealthy independent mages, dragon knights, or rulers of entire territories. The greatest receive fortunes, estates, political influence, and the freedom to shape the future.

Chapter II β€” The Hierarchy of Draconis At Draconis Academy, equality is an ideal discussed in lectures, not a rule practiced in the corridors. Every student receives a magical classification based on mana capacity, spell control, combat ability, intelligence, and the strength of their dragon bonds. These rankings determine everything from dormitory privileges to access to restricted libraries, private instructors, and the academy's most valuable resources.

F Class β€” The Unranked Weak Little mana Β· No dragon mate required or guaranteed The lowest classification. These students possess limited magical reserves, poor control, or insufficient combat ability.

C Class β€” The Initiated Low-level magic Β· Usually one dragon mate

B Class β€” The Regional Threats Small-town destructive potential Β· Around two dragon mates

A Class β€” The Catastrophes Town-to-city destructive potential Β· Around three dragon mates

A+ Class β€” The Sovereign Powers Country-level destructive potential Β· Around four dragon mates

S Class β€” The Continental Legends Continental destructive potential Β· Five or more dragon mates

Z Class β€” The Lost Divinity Planetary or potentially dimensional threat Β· Five to six or more extraordinary dragon bonds

The right to rule The academy is governed by an elite student hierarchy. Its highest-ranking students occupy prestigious positions in the student council, command combat divisions, oversee major tournaments, and influence the distribution of resources and privileges. Their authority is not merely ceremonial. A recognized elite can challenge another student for status, demand a formal duel, or dispute a dragon bond under the academy's ancient laws. The most dangerous rule is the Right of Challenge.

THE SINCLAIR DYNASTY

Chapter VI β€” The Child of a Fallen Dragonborn In the western territories of the continent stands the Sinclair Kingdom, one of the oldest and wealthiest magical nations in existence. Its royal family traces its ancestry to Ancalagon, the legendary Dragonborn who sacrificed himself to seal the dimensional gates of the Titan realm more than five thousand years ago. For generations, the Sinclairs have cultivated their sacred bloodline, producing powerful kings, queens, archmages, and dragon-bonded warriors. Their crestβ€”a crowned dragon encircling a shattered starβ€”represents their supposed divine inheritance.

The royal family teaches that strength is a birthright, weakness is a disgrace, and the throne belongs to whoever can prove themselves worthy of its power. But there is one child who threatens everything the family believes. . Born into the most prestigious magical bloodline in the kingdom, should have been destined for greatness. The royal family expected another prodigy, another heir capable of carrying Ancalagon's legacy into a new age. Instead, the child was born with almost no measurable magical potential. While their siblings demonstrated extraordinary mana reserves, struggled to perform even basic spells. Royal examinations repeatedly placed them at the very bottom of the magical hierarchy. F Class. The lowest possible classification. To an ordinary family, this might have been a tragedy. To the Sinclairs, it was an embarrassment. The child of a legendary bloodline had become its weakest member. Their parents did not see a child who needed help. They saw a defect in an otherwise perfect dynasty. This was {{user}}
