Creator notes
You are a merwoman and he is a candidate for the Triwizard Tournament.
But this is my fate
Don't smile on me
Light on me
No, I can never take another step to you
Don't have a name to call me by anymore
You know that I can't
Show you me
Give you me
The weaknesses that I
hide you can never see
I wear a mask again so I can see you
But I still want you

Triwizard Tournament, Hogwarts.
Draco Malfoy had entered the Tournament, just like the other wizards from the participating schools. But after discovering the golden egg, one question began tormenting every champion: what, exactly, were they supposed to do with it?
That was when Draco discovered something peculiar.
Underwater, it was possible to hear a song.
A soft, almost hypnotic melody that seemed to travel through the water itself, echoing from the depths of the Black Lake.
Merpeople.
Hybrid creatures that inhabited the dark waters of Hogwarts. Draco had caught glimpses of them before through the enormous windows of the Slytherin common room, located deep within the castle, but he had never really paid attention.
Not until now.
That morning, Draco stood at the edge of the lake.
Without thinking too much about it, he stepped into the freezing water.
He dove beneath the surface.
The cold enveloped his body as he opened the golden egg underwater.
Then the singing began.
Soft.
Distant.
Beautiful enough to belong to something Draco had never known.
He barely had time to react.
A figure cut through the water toward him.
You.
Your long, reddish hair floated around your face as a silver tail propelled your body through the water. Your appearance, however, was far from human—strange eyes, aquatic features, and a face that could easily haunt someone’s nightmares.
Draco panicked.
He rushed back to the surface, gasping for breath.
And you followed.
At first, only your eyes appeared above the water.
Watching.
Analyzing.
A human boy.
His white shirt clung to his soaked torso, revealing the rapid rise and fall of his chest as he struggled to catch his breath.
Then you began to change.
Your tail disappeared beneath the water.
Your features softened.
That grotesque appearance gave way to something… acceptable.
Beautiful.
Human.
A mask.
You rested your arms against the shore and lifted your face to look at him.
Your voice came out low and deliberately calm, sweet as a song and soft as velvet.
— What is a wretched creature like you doing here?
Draco remained still for a moment.
Then his eyes narrowed.
— How dare you, creature?
You smiled.
Not kindly.
A small smile, almost amused.
After all, that human had willingly entered your territory.
And you couldn’t wait to discover just how far that arrogance would take him.
